Subscribe to RSSBACHMANN: Roll Call looks at Michele Bachmann spending $3,400 in taxpayer money to help pay for a Tea Party event in DC. “The money came from the Members' taxpayer-funded office accounts, despite House rules prohibiting the use of these funds for political activities. Bachmann's office insists the expense was a proper use of official funds,” the paper writes. “Bachmann billed the event as a ‘press conference,’ which can be funded from official accounts. But no questions were taken from the press and, unlike most press conferences, it opened with a prayer, the national anthem and a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.”
Bachmann appeared at the RightOnline conservative activist forum on Saturday in Minneapolis, CNN reports, giving a speech that was full of humor and anti-President Obama red meat, including a few lines meant for minorities, which she also said a day earlier in New Orleans at the Republican Leadership Conference: “The president promised the African-American community, he promised the Hispanic community, that he would make their lives better… He's failing the Hispanic community. He is failing the African-American community. He's failing all of us,” she said.
CAIN: Mitt Romney has garnered much of the attention for not signing the SBA List legislative pledge on abortion. But Cain also didn’t sign it. He said in a statement it’s because he, as president, can’t “advance” legislation.

Yet he is among those who are being taken most seriously by Mr. Obama’s aides, who after working with him for more than two years say he could be formidable if — and they consider this a big ‘if’ — he can navigate a nominating contest likely to be decided by voters who may view him as too moderate.

The Wall Street Journal: “Aides to Texas Gov. Rick Perry said they are scrambling to determine the logistical challenges he would face in making a late entry to the fight for the Republican presidential nomination, the latest sign he is serious about joining the contest. Among their considerations is whether Mr. Perry has enough time to raise sufficient cash, which generally requires personal contact with donors and fund-raisers. Aides also have made inquiries in Iowa to assess his chances there in the first-in-the-nation caucuses.”
Dave Carney, Rick Perry’s chief consultant, told the AP on Friday he was making inquiries about the Iowa presidential landscape but cautioned the governor has not yet made a decision as to whether or not to seek national office.

Anthony List pledge, saying it was overly broad: “It is one thing to end federal funding for an organization like Planned Parenthood; it is entirely another to end all federal funding for thousands of hospitals across America. That is precisely what the pledge would demand and require of a president who signed it.

Like it or not, the United States has made formal Declarations of War 5 times in our history.
They are The War of 1812- declared June 18, 1812, The Mexican-American War- declared May 13, 1846, The Spanish-American War- declared April 25, 1898, WW1- declared April 6, 1917 and added to on Dec. 7,1917, WW2 - declared Dec. 8, 1941 and extended to include 4 other conflicts between Dec. 11, 1941 to June 5, 1942.

Congress declares war by funding hostilities against another govt. History knows them as the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Iraq War. Coalitions granted, but we still needed funding to wage war. In the modern age the declaration of war has become much more subtle, less formal. The international community thinks there is some type of war going on in Afghanistan and Libya. It has all become so skewed no one even tries to keep up anymore. Perpetual war.

Additionally, congressman Frank was never charged with any crimes and the investigation was instigated by Rep. Larry Craig, who has been charged with a crime. The House ethics investigation found that he did fix a couple of parking tickets but nothing more.

How you can conclude that I hold the belief that the US has not made a "formal declaration of war" without verification of that statement is amazing. Read history books, congressional records, google it, and it all reads the same.
This conversation started with the fact that the US has not declared war since WWII. The fact that the UN would consider these actions as acts of war was never part of the original supposition. I agree that the US is a signatory and we are subject to the charter. I can also say that there have been many forms of military intervention by the US that has been found acceptable by the UN which were not "officially" declared war.

I only have Watched her a couple of times, both time i was very disappointed. she was very biased and untruthful. My example is a how she covered a tea party gathering in DC that I actually attended. She reported that it was a raciest event with mean angry people . She spotted a couple signs that could have been taken as racist and labeled the whole event as racist. I was there, at the Gay Pride booth. I can tell you the truth. I have never met a nicer group of people. The accepted you no mater what color, sexual orientation or political party. Her coverage of this event ruined her creditability and will probably not watch her again.

Obama and Democrats get my vote, the choice is simple. If you have Social Security, Medicare, the right to vote, the right to an education, a clean park or a lake near you. If you were given a disability check or a wheel chair ramp into the store you buy your food, if you like safe bridges, clean drinking water, clean air and a nontoxic environment, if you feel safe when you fly, or eat out, or give your child a toy, then it's time you give Liberals the credit they deserve.
If you genuinely do not like those Liberal notions, there are countries were you will not be troubled by them. Try living in Russia, Saudi Arabia or Iran, for a glimpse of what your life would be without Liberals.

The tv ratings for Fox are lower now in aggregate than they were in 2008 when America voted for Mr. Obama to become President Obama.

We were discussing News programs. That is why I brought up ratings. The polls are easy to read and show obama has constantly had low approval ratings since he as taken office. He is alway a little below or little above 50%. The the true score is the people that Strongly disagree with obama are around 40% and people who strongly agree with Obama are about 23%. Most people do not have the warped minds that many of the libs on here have. Anyone from the Family guy would do a better job the the do nothing idiot we have for president right now.
My point is that most people don't watch cable news. You seem to have jumped pretty quickly from ratings to poll results. Careful with that, you could strain something. Like credibility.
