From NBC's Kelly O'Donnell
Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi has not yet received any formal request yet from Rep. Anthony Weiner concerning a leave of absence.
Various aides have sorted out details on how this works and say that Pelosi would be required to sign the request. The Speaker's Office or Republican Leader would not be involved.
Weiner sources say they expect the request by day's end and referred to it as a "form" rather than a letter. It would be a perfunctory step rather than an explanation of Weiner's intentions.
Sources close to Weiner will not provide information about his location but did rule out Washington, D.C.

So, is he at work today? Pretty sure I get in trouble if I just decide to stay home from work. Of course, he could always get one of those Madison-type doctors to write him a note I guess.
Wonder what it would say for what's wrong with him?
Easy - he currently suffers from extensive third degree burns on his crotch and legs.
You know from when his pants were on fire for over a week.
But hey, I do not think there can be any legitimate dispute Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (AKA Debbie Downer) is the bestest spokes hole in the world.
We have, don't you know, recovered economically. Oh, you didn't know that? Well you must not be listening to her.
Spokes Hole? Whazzup with that Spanky?
You seem to be taking a Likeing to Weiner's!
I'm sure you just Love HotDogs tho!
I sure do Rick. Hot Dogs are tasty.
I also love Weinersnitzel's chili cheese dogs.
So how about it Rick, which would you prefer QE3 or a nice payroll tax holiday? A payroll holiday will be nice, but man it'll suck when we have to pay it back.
"Absent without Leave"......time to issue a recall procedure.
Sounds like Weiner is following the footsteps of other elected officals in the Mid-West. Might want to check the hotel rosters in Maryland and Virginia, or maybe he went on a hiking trip in the Blue Ridge mountains to clear his head (not on a trip to South America).
Why not move straight to an Ethics Committee hearing on the simple question, ""Has Weiner's behaviour brought the House into disrepute?" That answer is easy. Then a two-thirds majority vote (of those present) gets the turd OUT of Congress and down the road in a cloud of dust.
Weiner-licious.
Hanging in for the money.
Hiya, Spanker. How's our main weiner man today? Send any dong-photos to the old lady today?
You should look up old Anthony while he's in rehab, and clue him in about the effects of lighting and what not. I bet he'd like some professional advice.
Oh, no Drive By, he sure does not need any advice from me. Or have you not visited TMZ lately?
And as always, thanks for thinking of me, and Ms. Spanky. But no, there will be no mutual exchange of photos today. As previously indicated we typically reserve that for Fridays.
But getting back to Weiner - now they are all over him for failing to register his cars. Seems the prick "forgot" to register his Pathfinder. I also wonder if Debbie Downer, queen of telling us we should all buy only American cars, knows that little Anthony also only owns Japanese cars?
Funny to be sure. I wonder if Debbie has traded in her Infiniti yet, after having gotten take to task a couple of weeks ago. Hey, maybe she can buy a lovely Volt. Looks like they could really use the sale. I saw the sales figures - Chevy's averaging less than 3,000 per month. That's just sad.
Hey Drive By - you should totally go out and get you a Volt. They are so totally hip and cool.
Really, aside from the joke value and media circus that follows this, isn't there something of substance that can be discussed?
Substance? Here at First Read?
You mean like the new study that came out last week that shows that the average retiree puts in about $50k into medicare, but gets out about $150k for men and $185k for women.
Or that a a two earner family puts in about $109k, but takes out over $355k?
Like that GM? Problem is that recall is not a good conversation for the Libbies. They have no response, other than to blame Ryan for pushing grandma over a cliff.
The clear unsustainability is beyond them.
How about you GM, what would you like to discuss?
Raising of the Debt Ceiling seems like a good thing to talk about.
Or we can talk about Sarah Palin's e-mails. Your choice.
Groucho,
Nothing of substance, the afternoons are filled with nothing but hot air and juvenile behaviour.
How funny that all GingerBread can offer is what appears to be criticism.
GB - what would you like to discuss. Go down below and pick something from Feisty's list of shame. Come on, it'll be fun.
Or there is JAS1's suggestion - Ddebt ceiling. How about it?
Yeah, I didn't think you were up for it.
Link, please? Some of us obviously don't have your ready resources available.
Besides, even if that's true, it just supports my long-standing argument that the payroll tax ought to be RAISED, rather than lowered. If health care costs exponentially more today than it did when Medicare was enacted, why do we keep applying the same old arithmetic formula to raising revenue to support it? Bad actuarial practices would kill a private insurer, just like apparently they're killing Medicare.
But you don't have to be a math wizard to see that you have three choices, Spanky: (1) cut benefits, which no one wants to do; (2) cut costs directly, perhaps by implementing actual cost controls, or even indirectly by, e.g., enacting a public option or a single-payer model; or (3) raise revenues, which only those who can MOST afford it seem to oppose.
Or don't YOU plan to take Medicare when you're ready, Spanky? LoL Sure, you don't.
Soory AM I don't link. It's out there and readily available for your review.
And sorry to say, we are headed for option (1), Cause that what insolvency does. Debt has consequences, and they are not good.
THere will be no medicare in 10 years, so there will be no options. Again, life is a series of choices. Our leaders have all chosen poorly.
Better save up AM. Plus Mexico is a hop skip and jump down the road if it gets too bad.
Spanky: "Soory AM I don't link. It's out there and readily available for your review."
Note to self...bypass Spanky's comments in future. Anyone who refuses to support his claims is not worth the time.
Weiner could always telecommute...he's clearly handy with smart phones!
Emphasis on "handy." LoL Too funny.
Kelly---while you are reporting from the House of Representatives, could you please check to see how many jobs bills the Republicans introduced today?
I can help you out with that SF - NONE - ZERO - ZIP - NADA!
Our hard working journalists are too busy chasing down where the weiner is hiding...
Rome burns while, the right wingers play hide the sausage!
Unbelievable....
Mr. Obama: I go to bed every night thinking about my #1 priority...Jobs. I wake up every morning thinking about my #1 priority....Jobs. The election is coming, the election is coming....now I will reiterate my #1 priority: my primary focus is, and I have a laser beam, on Jobs.
Yep, forget Obama's #1 priority.
Feisty,
You are always so wrong on here. I'm not sure if you just like to hate or if you a mentally a little slow. No matter how you look at it. The Dems have been in charge and have accomplished Nothing. You can keep blaming the other party, but there is no way that a logical person will believe you. I think most people read your posts an laugh or feel sorry for you.
I'm still waiting for someone, anyone to ask the Weeper of the House where the J O B S he promised!
So far they have laser focused on ANYTHING but job creation! Womens reproductive rights, elimination of Medicare & Medicaid, holding the debt ceiling hostage, HIDE the weiner etc.!
*gasp* I would sure hate to think we were LIED to! lol
"You can keep blaming the other party..."
Would that be the same 'other party' that campaigned on JOBS JOBS JOBS last fall? Splain that for us, will you?
BTW- how is steming the loss of 700,000 jobs a month 'acomplishing nothing', Realhope? I'd sure like to hear this one!
Really? Here's a list through April 2010:
Oh and then there was killing public enemy#1 Osama bin Laden you remember the guy 'W' was no longer concerned with!
Tell me, are you an idiot in real life OR do you just play one on FR?
That is a great list.
Really highlights how bad it has been. So which one is related to jobs? We got #24 - you remember the one that Obama said was absolutely needed to keep unemployment under 7%?
Unemployment is at 9.1% Whoopsy. But hey there is #43. I don't suppose you could, using you own words, explain that one, could you Feisty old gal?
How about it Feisty are you ready for more tax cuts? How about a nice payroll tax holiday? Oh yeah, doesn't do so much for you, since you have no actual job. It's ok, you totally rock this place. If only you could get paid for the time you spend here. Bummer for you.
Hey, I don't suppose you could actually back up #39, or better yet, #38. How were those sales figures taken over a 12 month period? Oh that's right, it was a total failure.
You all should really look into getting an updated list. THis one just ain't helping your arguments.
Thanks Feisty.
Fiesty,
All you political spin bs looks good on paper, but you can do that with either parties accomplishments and some people might argue that some of he accomplishments are bad. The FACT is we are much worse off since obama took over and most people agree with me (thank god) and not your crazy misguided ideas!!
NO Realhope - the FACT is YOU made the claim that dems have been in charge and accomplished NOTHING!
I simply pointed out that wasn't the case... much to your chagrin lol
So go ahead and attempt to crab-walk your comment back till your little hearts desired - just make sure you don't fall off the pier in the process! ;o)
Speaking of accomplishmens - how about you give us a list of what the Tea Baggers have accomplshed since taking control of the house?
Wow - I actually looked at the list. Obviously Feisty has not.
Feisty dear, please explain why 1,2,4, and 8 are flat lies. Why look-y at #21. Huh.
Best. List. Evah! I love love love #37. Amy - you out there. I bet even you can find the right tax code AND see when it was drafted and enacted. Feisty, sadly, cannot.
Kinda shows that the libbies around here, and particularly anyone who would post that list are in such denial they have lost touch with reality.
Kinda of like the Obama tax cuts are to them Bush's cuts. Even though Obama signed them. Reality<perception.
So sad. But so damn funny.
Feisty:
Here's what the Obama Administration has accomplished (thus far) regarding the unemployment rate, according to the U.S. Labor Dept.:
In its report for May 2009 (three months after President Obama was inaugurated), the U.S. Labor Department informed the American public that the nation's unemployment rate stood at 9.4%.
The most recent Labor Department report for this year, May 2011, shows an unemployment rate of 9.1%.
That's AFTER the Obama economic stimulus...those are the Labor Department numbers in its most recent report.
HOORAY!
Our President, and especially, all the members of his economic team who have now resigned, should celebrate this remarkable achievement.
May, 2009: 9.4%
May, 2011: 9.1%
Run on your record, Mr. President!
Honestly, Feisty...
I don't get the impression that President Obama is comfortable with that record.
Do you?
Of course NOT bag boy!
How could anyone be comfortable with those numbers other than the Teapublicans who actually enjoy rejoicing them around here at FR? ;o)
Meanwhile, can someone give me a list of what the other side has accomplished since regaining control of the house?
We're making slow, but painful...progress, Feisty.
Now...
If it truly is "the economy, stupid"...
Why should any of the First Read "usual suspects" be reassured about President Obama's re-election prospects?
If the President doesn't demonstrate significant progress in improving the economy between now and November 2012, the final Republican nominee (whomever that might be) has a good shot of unseating President Obama.
We've seen what he's accomplished with unemployment between May 2009, and May 2011.
Public polling suggests it's not nearly enough.
Why should the public believe otherwise, Feisty?
Anyone find that list for me yet? lol
Not counting #24, I see the following as being DIRECTLY related to keeping or generating new jobs, both in the public and private sectors: ## 3, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 26, 29, 37, 38, 39, 40, and 44. There may also be others, but those seem undeniable to me, and I believe that's only a partial list. Health care reform, for example, is bound to create thousands of new jobs, all by itself.
Surely you don't mean to say, Spanky, that Republicans were for hy-brid cars before they were against them?
And just whose record do you suppose the Republicans will feel "comfortable" running on? Palin's? Pawlenty's? Romney's? Perry's? Cain's? Bachmann's? Ryan's?
Yeah, baby. Bring 'em on. All of them put together can't put together a record of accomplishment like President Obama's. And you know that, too.
Not even close AM - stem cell research = jobs is a lot like saying the stimulus was a success. 37-40? Created jobs? You apparently are unaware of how few Hybrids get sold, and more importantly the disastrous effect destroying all those cars had on jobs. Same with all the crap he tried, all of which has sadly failed related to housing, banking and regulation. None of it has created any jobs. You any Realtors do well right now? I sure don't and I know many, many brokers and agents. In fact most are BK.
The tax codes addressing hybrids and fuel effeciancy were in place back when Obama was smoking dope and doing cocaine, i.e. a long time.
But sadly Mixed, not even AM understands that the actual identity of the eventual republican nominee is immaterial. It's only and all about the economy. Strange thing is it was their godking Clinton that said it.
True then. True now.
I said they related to keeping or generating jobs. I didn't say how many jobs, or what the net effect was, and that wasn't your question. Take responsibility for your own sloppy work.
Perhaps, but not for the reason you think. You fail to factor in that it WAS the "godking" who said it.
Where's the Republican "godking," Spanky? This ain't 1992, and none of those candidates will ever have one-tenth of Clinton's charisma. He has his flaws, as I freely admit, but lack of charisma is NOT one of them. Nor is lack of intelligence or understanding of the issues. Clinton exuded competence and never made me afraid, the way a couple of your current Republican candidates do.
Now look at the field again, consider the 2008 campaign, and evaluate where the charisma resides. Not to mention raw intelligence and superior understanding of the issues.
True then. True now.
Anna Molly-
None of the prospective GOP candidates have a record on the national economy.
Only President Obama does.
Again...are you comfortable with the Administration's record?
Do you really believe that the President is?
He doesn't appear to be.
We know what the the public thinks about the economy, in poll after poll...
Stop whistling past the graveyard, AM.
That attitude resulted in Republicans gaining 63 House seats in 2010, with more than 50 defeated Democratic incumbents...a modern-day record.
Last November, the voters weren't impressed with President Obama's "record of accomplishment", and they demonstrated it by throwing handfuls of Democrats out of Congress.
That's what I know, AM.
If the economy doesn't begin to show dramatic improvement...the Republican field will be an afterthought.
President Obama is primarily running against his record...a very, very tough opponent.
Mixed Bag,
Although not perfect I would feel comfortable with Obama's record of:
Bout the only thing he failed at was his basketball brackets, and doing a better job at "perception management" like the republic party does.
I and about 4 million other people employed by the domestic auto industry are working today because of him. Hard to get unhappy about that.
Thanks for weighing in on President Obama's record on the economy, Greg.
I was listening to CNN's Jack Cafferty last week (certainly no Republican or cheerleader for the GOP...heaven forbid!) talking about the President's re-election campaign.
Cafferty suggested that, re: the economy, President Obama will likely:
"...make the case that things would be worse if Republicans were in charge. But if that's all he's got, it's not going to be enough."
Cafferty's right, Greg...
As far as the economy goes...
That IS all he's got.
And...it isn't enough.
Not nearly enough.
Anna - loved your recommendation of #38 (cash for clunkers) seems that we now have a shortage of good used cars available at a fair price, or have you failed to notice the variety of news reports on how used cars are increasing in price. Seems that the poor and middle class have been screwed again by the left.
As for obamacare creating more jobs, of course it will. First to come will be the state, local and federal payroll increases to regulate and enforce obamacare. Then it will be the private sector to create the low paying jobs of the healthcare paper pushers followed by the more professionally paid nurses, PA's and doctors. These jobs will then be closely followed by the administrators.
I am sure that somewhere in all of this new facilities, equipment and pharmaceuticals will also expand.
Unfortunately for us, so will the cost of insurance and in turn government subsidies to fund those who still can't afford what obamacare says is "affordable".
Lest you argue that the government will step in and control costs, please remind us all when was the last time the government effectively controlled costs?
It would have been far better if obama had approached healthcare in smaller chunks of legislation than one giant set of bills. Even his buddy rahm emmanual made this recommendation. (see the recap of 2010 events by the Mclaughlin group at the end of dec 2010). It does appear that everyone taxes will be going up to pay for all of this, from the part time worker to the wealthiest.
More than enough for me. Bears repeating: I am working, earning, paying taxes and a mortgage because of Barack Hussein Obama.
I AM LIVING BREATHING, TAX-PAYING PROOF THAT OBAMA'S ECONOMIC POLICIES HAVE IMPROVED AMERICA.
I agree that "could be worse" can't be their narrative, or they'll never get off the runway with that. The repubs and their spin machine are just far too good for that. They'd bat that one into the cheap seats like a slow, high, hanging one right over the plate.
I still think Obama will win in 2012. After a look at what the repubs are offering, America seems to want more moderation, a more cereberal approach rather than tax cuts for the rich, deficit spending, war and recession.
Not sure it is still there, but there used to be a Weinerschnitzel in Tucson Arizona that cooked their weiners on a griddle. But get this, they used real lard on the griddle to get it nice and hot. So you had a weiner griddled in lard with chili and cheese. That was a good one. But this weiner is on the run! As nutty as he is, he may be in Mexico right now disguised as a cocktail wiener
So Tony is in treatment? What is the treatment for a man that takes lewd pictures of himself and sends them to young females (the Democrats keep telling us they are for women, this must be how they express it)? And will this treatement be a pill, or some counseling? And is it covered by ObamaCare?
Charlie Rangel had the line of the week when he said about Tony: "At least he's not chasing after 14 year old boys". Way to go Charlie. You're such a big help.
Did Charlie say anything about jobs bills? Somewhere, I can't remember where, there was talk about jobs. I think it may have been last November, but I'm not sure....
Job bills? We don't need any Job Bills. Didn't you hear President Obama Buzzy? This is just a "Bump in the road", a "soft patch", something we need to "work through". Need not worry your pretty little head off Buzzy, those "400,000 jobs immediately" Pelosi promised when ObamaCare got passed will be coming on line now any day. 4 million total too for that deal alone. Happy Days Are Here Again!!
Source: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2010/02/25/pelosi_health_reform_will_create_400000_jobs_almost_immediately.html
President Obama says for us to "Stay the course" because "Prosperity is right around the corner" and "We're seeing Green Shoots", as well as "We'll have a "Recovery Summer" (redux from 2010 Recovery Summer)". And you do trust President Obama, don't you Buzzers?
Sure I trust him. BUT- do all the people that voted Repub in November? OR- do they think they turned the job over to people that would take care of business? Seems to me, if there are no jobs bills yet, they were snookered.
You "trust President Obama BUT", but what Buzzy? If you have full faith in the President, our job problems are all solved. The $787 billion stimulus worked to perfection. ObamaCare will produce hundreds of thousands of jobs (soon to be millions), QE1 and QE2 stimulated the demand side economy and people are buying American and producing millions of new jobs. What exactly is your gripe Buzz? We're just hitting a "Bump in the road" and "Recoveries take time". Our President said so, so it must be true. We just have to be patient, the jobs will come Buzz, any day now . . . . . .
The Job Creation Machine is in full motion, thanks to President Obama. You do believe, don't you Buzz?
Hey Drive By - Debbie Downer is in the House. You think she has anything related to a jobs bill in the works?
Of course she did just say we are in recovery and all is good, so she probably doesn't think we need anything. Terrific leadership you all got there.
JAS1 - I think Drive By thinks that unemployment is below 7% - you know because of the stimulus.
A true believer, that one.
Well, it is. Is just hasn't been realized yet. It's an "unrealized gain". It's going to happen, because President Obama said it would. Mr. Obama is fully invested in his plan, and he's shouting to the masses that his plan is in fact working. Guys like Buzz buy the Presidents line and are in full agreement that Mr. Obama's plan worked to perfection. Makes you wonder why Buzz and others waste their time by being so concerned about more "Job Bills". Why in the world would we need any more? The ones we have already worked perfectly!
Good point JAS1. Drive By is obsessed, yet also seems to be incapable of grasping that we already instituted Obama's giant "jobs" bill - the stimulus.
And it's not like it was a total success. Debbie Downer said herself that all is well - the president has saved the day.
So unfurl that little brow of your Drive By. O's large and in charge. There is absolutely no need for further tinkering. It would be INSANE for him to do another tax cut, especially a payroll tax holiday.
He's gotten real quiet. I bet he went out to buy a Volt. All this talk of stimulus stimulated him! Something he has in common with Anthony.
You think he could qualify for a Volt? They are awfully costly.
I'm thinking he's more of a 2003 Prius kind of guy. You can probably pick one of those up for about $3500. Of course you are going to have to spring for a brand new main battery. That'll cost about $10K.
But I bet it feels so damn good to be "green."
Boehner...where are the jobs?
Pass the Ryan plan and then you can see.
PatHuntingtonNY,
Boehner is trying, if Obama would get out of the way and work for the people we might start to see some Jobs. Obama needs to get out of the "put everyone who does not agree with me in the back of the bus" mode and start working together to find a solution. He not good at economics and thats okay , but he has got to ask for help. I guess his pride is more important than the American people.
Realhope,
Boehner and company do not need our President to do anything for the House to pass a
bill. They have passed many bills without any help from the Dems like the Ryan
Budget, repeal of Obamacare and others.
For House Republicans to get any law passed, they need either 60 votes in the Senate and a Republican President OR some meaningful cooperation from the Democrats currently in those offices. If you're still waiting for a job blame Obama and his anti-business policies: Obamacare, Cap-and-Trade, drilling moratoriums, tax uncertainty, etc.
Jeff,
“For House Republicans to get any law passed, they need either 60 votes in the Senate and a Republican President OR some meaningful cooperation from the Democrats currently in those offices.”
But they promised jobs and they have not even introduced a single bill – not one. If you don’t create, introduce and vote on a bill the Senate and President will never see it {period}. They refuse to do what they promised the American people they would do if we voted them into control of the House.
Yeah Boenher!
If ALL the dirtbags resigned the House and Senate would be empty.
And better for it.
Don't we have much more important problems here in the U.S. other than on some moron politician(s) that can't keep their dicks in their pants?
Why doesn't he just Tweet Pelosi?
Can someone please tell me; why is it that when a man in power gets caught with his hand(s) in the
"cookie-jar" he has an addiction? If I got caught doing something equally wrong I would have to take responsibility and take what was coming to me.
Most philanderer's I've know have other issues than addiction such as it feeds their ego, or power, or a lack of respect for women. Claiming addiction removes responsibility--it's not my fault that I let my little head do all my thinking. Bull!
Weiner Checks in to Tiger's Rehab
(Naperville, Ill.) - by Robert Feeley - SPN Headlines has located the secluded sex rehab that treated Tiger Woods, and has confirmed that the super-secret sanctuary will host disgraced U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner, beginning today. The ultra-orthodox sect claims 100 percent success in transforming womanizers into wusses.
The Flaccid Fellowship, outside Chicago, is led by former roué Pee Wee Herman who confirmed today that Weiner has signed up for an intensive 9-week program designed to entirely eliminate his libido.
Herman described the course administered to Woods: "Brother Tiger successfully endured our standard regimen of saltpeter, alcohol and cigarettes, as well as forced viewing of the nude images of Rosie O'Donnell and Hillary Clinton," said Herman. Asked how golf's famous philandering cad responded to treatment, Pee Wee said, "there were times the poor bastard cried like a baby and begged for mercy." Mr. Herman also said he recalls that the lamentable lech once spent a whole weekend dry humping a fire extinguisher.
The controversial cult uses electro-shock therapy to ingrain the dangers of female cooties into the subconscious minds of their convalescents. Limp leader Pee Wee said, "The next time Mr. Weiner ponders sending a lewd photo on the internet, he will immediately suffer painful groin spasms and crumple to the floor, his penis resembling a boiled prune." He added, "Trust me, it's a better way of life.
Laughable how the clueless moonbats think a "jobs" program involves spending more tax money we dont have, to hire more useless high pension public sector union workers for lifetime do-nothing positions.
Ever hear of the dreaded 'private sector'?
Now that Weiner is no longer a distraction to the people's business . What is being done to address the economy? 2012 Budget? Debt Ceiling? Deficit?
Why does Weiner need approval from Pelosi? Doesn't he work for the people of his district? Or do they serve him? Most Democrats think the latter, so why should he be any different?
If he misses a vote, he's just "not present". I don't think his pay changes at all. Congress voted for permanent, lifetime pay for members many decades ago.
Seems as though Wasserman Schultz and Pelosi jocks might be a bit too tight. The man has the same right to seek treatment for a illness that needs to be addressed, as say Gabrielle Giffords regardless of the circumstances. With friends like that, even with your own party leaders, one wonders how these two might betray a measly voter such as myself. Overly aggressive women are not smart women.
In Congressman Weiner we have seen how smart an overly aggressive man can be.
Bill Bridges: I'm trying to understand your position. Brain injury and midlife crisis--one is life-threatening and the other is a narcissistic mid-40's guy taking pictures of himself because he thinks he's sexy and worth looking at before he hits the big 5-0.
Pervertism is a condition well tolerated by Democrats and covered as pre-existing under ObamaCare. However, it is usually fatal to a Republican's career.
The saddest thing about Mr. Wiener is not the fact that he is a liar and a public servant with too many "recreational activities" on his mind, but the simple truth that he's going through a midlife crisis and doesn't realize it. Anthony, my man, save the taxpayers money on rehab and just go out and buy a motorcycle. Maybe his wife will do some belated spring cleaning while he's away and kick his a-- out of the house.
A solution: shut down all photo accessibilities via any networks. It is not just his problems; but his problem has captured another problem from the photo functionality and accessibility via networking.
The porn nature has taking advantage from our cyberspace capability.
He is trying to decide which picture to include with request to Pelosi
He is trying to decide which picture to include with request to Pelosi
In addition the Dems put out a bill aimed at tax breaks and other enticements for companies wishing to repatriate jobs back to the United States.
The republic party shot it down. Can't have job growth unless companies hire people on U.S. soil now can we? Try re-implementing tariffs to even our playing field back to pre-Carter trade balances.
No discussion of debt reduction should be had without first stopping the bleeding: the wars, the military spending, the bases in every corner of the globe. Apply that budgetary tourniquet and see what develops. You could retire the U.S. debt in 7 years, and closing our U.S. bases in S. Korea and Japan would give both those countries a whole new direction to focus their GDP on,....defense. They would find less money around to subsidize their industries with.
Republican "Health Care Plan":
The Sick should:
CURL UP
DIE
DRY OUT
AND
BLOW AWAY !!!
BECAUSE
***TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH***
(THE MILLIONAIRES AND BILLIONAIRES)
ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN HEALTH CARE REFORM !!!
I don't know how ANYONE can take the Repukes seriously !!!
Why don't you pay attention JimD?
It was Democrats who STOLE 500 Billion dollars from MediCare to pay for ObamaCare, and then bragged about how ObamaCare "lowers the deficit" by 400 Billion dollars. (That the CBO now says will ADD at least 1.13 Trillion dollars to our debt)
It's Democrats that have ensured that HALF of this nation not only pays NO income taxes, but get back more than they put in. It's Democrats that gave out over 4 Trillion dollars in tax cuts to the lowest income brackets while whining how the highest bracket tax cut "costs" 900 billion dollars.
It's Democrats that passed the largetst most expensive WELFARE program in our nation's history and told us all that WE get no choice in the matter, except for those union members that got their exemptions from not only paying taxes like the rest of us have to, but actually got exemptions from even participating in it.
It's Democrats that put this nation into the highest debt in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD, in just 4 years of controlling Congress and two years of Obama.
But that's ok. Although I really like the health insurance we have, I wanted even more to have some "Secretary" in Washington to tell me that it doesn't "meet" their "standards" of good health insurance so I have to either go buy something more expensive or get into some stupid "collective".
And of course you can't have the common COURTESY to call the party that you disagree with by their name, but instead have to do the usual left wing garbage and come up with some hate filled name that you think makes you look "intelligent".
No Cheryl, The largest tax increase of our time was signed by Ronald Wilson Reagan in March of 1983.
Thanks for playing.
Cheryl really needs to focus on what she knows the most about... darling - get back to accepting where the Teapublicans are hiding the 'weinee' honey! ;o)
Oh too lube or not to lube that IS the question....
Well said Boston!!
