Palin's East Coast swing ends

PORTSMOUTH, NH -- It isn't over, but it’s over for now.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin made one last unconventional stop on her way to the airport this morning to fly home to Alaska. Her caravan of SUVs and reporters' cars stopped at the Golden Egg, a diner here that is used to candidates dropping by, but not completely unexpectedly. (One waitress said they would’ve had all their regulars waiting if they had known she was coming.)

But there was one person who knew Palin was showing up here: rookie New Hampshire GOP Sen. Kelly Ayotte, whom Palin endorsed last year.

Ayotte, the senator's husband, and Palin chit-chatted about their children and Alaska travels over coffee as Palin’s parents sat at a table nearby and ate breakfast. Piper was also in tow, eating a sticky bun.

When their chat turned to politics, they lowered their voices, so the microphone only picked up snippets like “55," “the longer we put it off," "Paul Ryan," and "Medicare."  The political tone of the stops in New Hampshire -- coupled with this morning’s breakfast and last night’s clambake of who’s who in conservative New Hampshire -- keeps everybody interested in speculating whether or not she will run for president.

That intrigue propelled her to the biggest headline on the front page of the New Hampshire Union Leader this morning, literally shoving Mitt Romney’s presidential announcement yesterday aside.

Palin dropped a few more hints about the next leg of the tour before she took off to the airport.  “I don't know if in the next week or two, we have to get back and regroup and figure out schedules and who next can hop on the bus with us - we will figure all that out,” Palin said.

When pressed about which part of the country she may visit next she said, “Midwest and then eventually West... I'd love to do South, too. I just heard from [South Carolina Gov.] Nikki Haley the other day, and I'd love for us to hit her state, too. She is great.”

So it seems like Palin’s tour is not only about seeing historic sites and handing out pocket Constitutions, but also checking in on her team of Mama Grizzlies.

Perhaps another clue to where the Liberty Mystery tour may be headed next.

THANK GOD!

Doesn't every one who goes on a family vacation traipse around sightseeing in stilettos & mini skirts? lol

She's raised quite the mini pit-bull in that Piper of hers - chasing away those BIG bad reporters from Mama Grizzly!

I wonder what gets better gas mileage - Palin's RV or Obama's Limo?

My thoughts exactly Tom. This is what passes as Journalism, or Politics. The Only ones concerned with Palin, are the "Carnival Barkers"themselves(formerly known as the MSM), which shows what a sad State of affairs, America's media is in nowadays.

Now that Palin has enough footage for her next Movie titled "Driving Miss Crazy", Americas "Carnival Barkers"can return to the more important issues of the Day, such as:

8Million Jobs LOST during the previous administration, 2.1 Million Jobs recovered so far for the present adminstration:

Tax Breaks don't Create Jobs, because if they did, the economy would've taken off by now!

President Obama, if you've learned anything from this Jobs report, it should be the FACT, that continued Tax Breaks are'nt the Cure:

Thier the Problem!

You Betcha!

Also you suggestion is not very respectful. The more appropriate thing to do would be to boycott the entire site.

Show me where I 'picked on' the youngster. I was acutally expressing concern for her. But go ahead on, and show me.

But hey, we get it. You think Palin's the cat's meow. Some do, some don't. Ususally, though, it's the screwballs that do. Where you fit in, there, Mr Q 'n A?

And I again refer you to the part where you made fun of the little girls name. As for you mothering it is 1. none of my business, and 2. irrelevant to anything here. Well except for you Palin-itis.

So do tell, why is her mothering a concern of yours?

  • 2 votes
#4.5 - Fri Jun 3, 2011 1:27 PM EDT

Spank- making fun of the names is making fun of....guess who.... the 'mother' and father. Unless, of course, the little girl named herself, that is. I guess I never considered that posibility. Now- you were saying...?

Her mothering is only a concern up to the point that it demonstrates her character (or lack of) to a degree. I would lilke to think caracter counts for someone that might be trying to 1) get elected president, or 2) thinks THEY can comment on the character of someone ELSE without scrutiny. Get it, Einstein? I knew that you could.

That intrigue propelled her to the biggest headline on the front page of the New Hampshire Union Leader this morning, literally shoving Mitt Romney's presidential announcement yesterday aside.

And here in MA, someone over @ DailyKos wrote yesterday that he/she put on the local 6:00 news here last night and because of the storm, Romney's announcement didn't get coverage until 25 minutes into the newscast.

And people here found it fascinating that as a former governor of MA, Romney failed to mention the storm that caused so much damage in the western part of the state.

I overhead two women walking in front of me this morning, and Palin's name was mentioned. Both of them chuckled and one said - oh please and then they both laughed. {So did I quietly}.

And the Bruins are in the Stanley Cup right now. Did either Romney or Palin mention that little fact? I'm not sure I heard it mentioned. Perhaps they didn't know?

I saw NBC got huge ratings for the first game. Cool.

I'm not much of a hockey fan, and never was, even during the days of Bobby Orr and Derek Sanderson, etc. But fans here are so excited. They've been die hard Bruins fans their entire lives so hopefully things end up well for them. I would have thought Romney would make a big deal of that. Maybe he did and I missed it?

Dreams of My Father

My father was planning/hoping to be a professional hockey player after high school, but then WWII broke out and that was the end of that. He was quite an athlete.

Anyway, good luck Bruins and their fans.

Yes Spanky, I dislike Republicans. Both the GOP politicians and those who vote for them. It's why we're in the mess we're in.

But my biggest disdain is for the former Republicans who now sell themselves as "progressives" or "liberals" or just plain Democrats. I blame them for voting R in the past.

And now they're putting all the blame on President Obama when it is they themselves who are to blame for voting "R" in the first place all those years ago.

But it's okay. The GOP and fake liberals have nothing but disdain for me because I truly believe in President Obama. Big time. So we're even.

We could blame teachers or unions or Medicare or Social Security. It's what we've been hearing for years and years and years.

Why doesn't the country get to choose who comes in? And why do you hate all the poeple trying to do it legally, the ones waiting in line.

Pat - you are out of touch on this, just like the rest of the libbies. Now Dream Act will ever pass. They need to go home. Their countries need those smart people more than we do. Plus we have already paid $100,0000 for their k-12 educations.

Think Progress:

Yesterday, Palin’s federally assisted vacation-mobile ran over Mitt Romney’s presidential announcement and stopped in Boston, MA where she toured the sites along Freedom Trail. Seemingly moved by the historic importance of Boston, Palin decided to recognize the city’s own Paul Revere and his famous “Midnight Ride” in which he hung two lanterns and rode to Lexington to warn Patriot leaders that the British army was arriving “by sea.” Palin, however, offered her own take on the revolutionary tale:

PALIN: He who warned, uh, the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms uh by ringing those bells and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed.

As Mediaite’s Frances Martel notes, Palin’s version “wasn’t exactly the official History Channel rendition.” It’s hard to imagine why Revere would warn the British of anything, or why he’d do it with bells and gun shots.

Of course, a quick survey of those toying with the GOP presidential field reveals that basic American history is not their strong suit. Tim Pawlenty confused the Iraq war with an Iran war, Hermain Cain confused the Constitution with the Declaration of Independence, and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) confused Massachusetts with New Hampshire. Bachmann’s particular struggles even earned her a debate invitation with a 10th grader.

But all these candidates would pale in comparison to this figurehead of flubs if Palin pulls the trigger on a presidential run.

Palin's not running this time around--she too will wait for 2016 since she really does expect President Obama to win (and she could not stand the indignity of going down in history as having lost to his ticket twice.)

And will lose again because lessons was not learned from the first defeat, and that is "stupid is, as stupid does; quote by Forest Gump

As long as Palin is on the Faux News payroll, she is not running.

If Faux News dumps her, or she resigns from Faux News, then we'll know she's running for some office.  Until then, it's all for show and bucks (for Palin).

...Obama has nothing to worry about for 2012 as long as there is enough Kool-aid left, and by the looks of it there is plenty left. The country has evolved into a two class state: the entitlement class, and the rest. As long as the entitlement class garners over 50% of the vote, and maintains a front-and-center nostalgia in perpetuity of how  "bad" things were under Bush - and that there is/was absolutely no other option, they will forever be in power, and from the looks of it, that class is growing ...because that is how America rolls....

Massachusetts Register of Deeds John O'Brien and Forensic Mortgage Fraud Examiner Marie McDonnell find former Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin is victim of potential mortgage fraud; expert says chain of title to new Arizona home clouded by robo-signers.

In what is an ironic twist of fate today Register of Deeds John O'Brien and nationally renowned mortgage fraud examiner Marie McDonnell, President of McDonnell Property Analytics, Inc., announce that former Alaska Governor and Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Palin is an unwitting victim of mortgage fraud and has purchased a home in Arizona that contains flaws in the chain of title.
