Palin fires shot at Romney at Bunker Hill

In remarks made at Bunker Hill in Massachusetts -- of all places -- Sarah Palin fired a shot at Mitt Romney over the health-care mandate that Romney signed into law in the state in 2006.

The remarks came just before Romney formally announces his presidential bid in nearby New Hampshire, which Palin also plans to visit later today.

"In my opinion, any mandate coming from government is not a good thing, so obviously ... there will be more the explanation coming from former governor, Romney, on his support for government mandates," Palin told reporters today.

When a reporter followed up that Romney has distinguished his state mandate from the federal one President Obama signed into law in 2010, Palin responded that even state mandates are problematic.

"He makes a good argument there that it does. States rights and authority and responsibility allowed in our states makes more sense than a big centralized government telling us what to do," she said.

"However, even on a state level and even a local level, mandates coming from a governing body, it's tough for a lot of us independent Americans to accept, because we have great faith in the private sectors and our own families ... and our own businessmen and women making decisions for ourselves. Not any level of government telling us what to do."

Well then, I guess I feel very good about knowing that she would never become part of the problem.

CLEARLY,....IF YOU ARE PAYING ATTENTION AT ALL,...

The right has created the tea party,....so that there are two "rights", two conservative choices - conservative and conservative "light". They OBVIOUSLY (I mean c'mon,...we're not stupid) will win either way.

By painting Romney as the "liberal" conservative who tolerates government mandates,....they create an outlaw to vote for within their own ranks - still conservative, but suitable for some people looking for an alternative to the soul crushing corporate fascism being offered by the "Tea Party".

If you don't want to vote for "our guy" in the Tea Party,....won't you choose "our guy" the Republican,....either one of them will support the overall conservative agenda,....and you'll feel good that you took a more moderate attitude with your vote,....THEREFORE - we the conservatives will scoop up more of the moderate vote than usual.

Nice strategy. Nice, calculating strategy. Nice calculating strategy that we can use to hang the middle and lower class with their own rope.

Conservatives now are two of the three available choices in our two party system . Be careful and follow the overall ideology of the party,...then choose you want the unprecedented extremism of the Tea Party.

The Republicans/Tea Party (ONE PARTY I AM TELLING YOU) have the highest quality marketing strategists at their disposal. They are playing the peoples attitudes and emotions like a piano,....a big gullible piano,....a big gullible piano that can be divided by petty anger and prejudice. They know how to "WIN". What is right is secondary. They are offering more choices to get more overall "market share",...literally.

Think hard about your vote. If you are not a millionaire, and believe any portion of the social safety is a worthy pursuit that will be of value to any of your family or friends who are not independently wealthy,............VOTE DEMOCRAT in 2012.

no, it is pretty obvious. It became more so when the "Tea Party" got some people elected in mid term 2010 and as soon as they got into office they became Repubs. The Grass Roots Tea Party has even said they are going after them in the next election for betraying them. A bunch of politicians that could not get elected as a true Republican so they jumped ship (temporarily) and became TP so they could get elected, they talked all radical "take America Back" stuff and poof, they are Republicans again!

Still,...net effect - conservative agenda, which they always prefer to any liberal social reform or governing in the public interest. Yes I know,...this is sometimes excessive, but I think our "TWO" party system has maintained some balance through the years. Without "some" controls,...the "greed factor" is going to eat the middle class alive.

I like the middle,...maybe a little to the right of middle, but we can't throw everyone who can't pay, pay, pay to the dogs so that "WE" can be more profitable. Who is that "WE" and what percentage of the population are they ?

    BALANCE.

Did anyone see this bimbo talking to a "reporter" yesterday about the Statue of Liberty? Just like she was quoted in this article and making no sense whatsoever, she went on and on about how the Statue of Liberty signifies how we should learn from the mistakes of other countries and keep our freedoms safe, blah, blah, blah, blah.....she can't even form a coherent sentence, much less get her facts correct. The Palin sheeple HAVE to be the most asinine people on the planet.

Take out "Statue of Liberty" and put in "can of green beans" and it still makes the same amount of sense. My first thought was "What? An "other country" gave us this statue, was that the mistake you are referring to?" She is the queen of buzzphrase and shows it doesn't matter what you say as long as you throw your buzzwords in there.

The thing we have to learn from the tornado in Massachusetts is that tornadoes are hated by freedom-loving people everywhere and we need to defend their freedoms by getting rid of Obama's death panels and Romney's state's rights in that newspaper I saw one day before George Washington gets all wee wee'd up.

The presidential candidates can make all the promises they want to regardless of party but they have to be able to work with Congress. The only time it's easy is if both parts of the Congress are of the same party as the President. If not, it's a stalemate.

Woa! Slow down there missy! Its not the GOP position to be against big government and government mandates! Just certain kinds of government mandates. For example, mandating a person get a unwanted and unneeded sonogram before they get an abortion- thats a good mandate in the eyes of the GOP. Wasteful, unneeded medical procedure? Sure! but its a mandate the GOP can all stand behind. The GOP is all for mandating who you can and can not marry, mandate away your freedom of speech and many other freedoms too.

So remember, if you want to be a part of the GOP big government is bad when its trying to help the middle class and poor, but its awesome when its trying to push an ideology or bolster corporations.

As a S.C. rsident, she should leave the north east ASAP, she needs to come on down here where she will be appreciated. Down here in the south people think she is so smart and articulate,( sigh). She also has a real purty smile. Even the educated will stand with this nit wit, remember we have , Joe Wilson, of the YOU LIE fame, and Jim Demint, who is praying about running for president, as we speak, Yes, thats who represents us. We also have Lindsey Graham, he is really a moderate, but has to hide it, and does it well. We are used to people like Sarah Palin, she will have toothless old men slobbering every where she goes, and she will love it.

So let's see if I've got this right...Sarah Palin thinks that county government, for example, should not press mandates onto cities and towns. And cities and towns should not place any mandates onto wards and neighborhoods. And wards and neighborhoods should not regulate anything either, things like playgrounds and traffic signs. So if I dislike paying county real estate taxes or abiding by fire codes and curfews, then I'm free to act my patriotic conscience as I see fit.

Underneath the noble-sounding language, Palin is an anarchist. But sadly she doesn't realize this.

Why is this woman deemed newsworthy? She is a dingaling! And she wouldn't know the difference between a mandate and a manhole if it bit her on the a$$. Hey Sarah, ever heard of mandatory driver's license or learner's permit to operate a car in the STATE? Ever heard of mandatory obligations for auto insurance if you operate a car in the STATE? Do you realize that states impose mandatory property taxes on real property owned in the STATE? Are you aware that most STATES mandate medical providers to report instances where patients have a confirmed STD/HIV diagnosis? So, okay Simple Sarah, which of the foregoing does NOT constitute a mandate by a governing body? Still confused? (Clue: look for the word "mandate" in each mandate). And people suggest that you have the chops to be POTUS?!?! God bless America with smarter people...soon!

It made perfect sense. Perhaps you are having readin' difficulties.

I am saying that the fact that there have become two conservative party choices which are constantly in the media,....is an intentional move by the conservatives to occupy the public with the choices between THEIR candidates (Republican and Tea Party), rather than the typical differences between Democrats and Republicans.

Why ? Because if either the Republcans or the Tea Party win,...the conservatives have won.

Madison From NY If Sarah Palin is your idea of "brilliant" I sure as hell don't want to know what your idea of a dump person is. For crying out loud, I’ve met smarter rocks than this broad so this doesn't bode well for you come time to be a judge of intellectual prowess. Just the same I hope she runs so the American public can get a real idea of how absolutely stupid and uninformed she really is. She is an embarrassment to the American political process and should be banned from running for any office including Dog Catcher. I say this because the dogs would probably score higher on an IQ test than she would. Also it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the higher ups of the GOP do not want her to run for fear that she will impact the outcome of the election in two ways: 1. Between her and Bachmann they will prove to be nothing short of an embarrassment for the party . 2. They could work as spoilers by splitting the vote and hurting the person that the real money is going to be backing which is Romney. I suspect that they are so serious about this that it wouldn’t be beyond them to have her take a left turn in her bus and not be seen until after the elections are over. Know one thing Madison these people have made it clear that they DO NOT LIKE HER!!

Palin needs to learn to shutup.

She talks a lot of talk, and criticizes the plans of every politician that doesn't support her.

But have you ever listened to her speaches? Does she ever tell you her plans or solutions to a problem? Don't retreat, reload? What the hell does that mean to fixing the economy or creating jobs? How does reload relate to job growth?

Well she spend most of her time either attacking the democrats, or defending her parenting skills. But she has not given any concrete plan to making solutions to the problems we face in our country.

Palin right now is the clown at a rodeo. She weaves to and fro trying to get the attention of an angry bull...and that's the american people by the way, we're the angry bull. But she just smiles, waves, and does...nothing else.
