• Individuals/families making less than $43,320/$88,200 per year will qualify for government subsidies to help purchase health insurance
• All individuals must have health insurance or face a government fine; all large (over 50 employees) employers must offer health insurance to employees or pay a fine
• Small businesses can get a tax credit if they offer health care
• There are hardship exemptions if individuals can’t afford health insurance
• Families can keep their children in college on their plans through age 26
• Promotes health insurance “exchanges” so consumers can buy “wholesale”

Funding sources:

• Large employers (over 50 workers) that don’t offer health benefits will be charged a $2,000/worker fee; if the employer offers coverage but employees instead purchase federally subsidized insurance the fee is $3,000/worker receiving federal subsidies or $750/worker (whichever is lower)

What a magic trick, they might as well call it the David Copperfield plan. A six thousand dollar voucher won't cover two months in a nursing home, so who is going to insure you for anywhere near that. Republican "family values" policies will have your adult children living in your home with you and your old and sick parents and grandparents. One big happy family working 9 different non union part time jobs with no benefits, and praying that baby Jesus will save them from the Democrats.

With your logic if you take a job and follow any of the policies of the guy that had the job before you but let's say was fired and went to prison for beating his wife, then you are also a wife beater or he is now innocent. Most definitely needs tweaking but the mini-meds are basically nothing, I believe in the neighborhood of 70% of personal bankruptcies are due to medical bills. It is real easy to rack up a couple hundred grand in charges at the hospital, $750,000 is really not as high as it sounds, the public option would help to give a little more wiggle room, by cutting the insurance companies profit margin which is only rivaled by the oil business.
