CIA denies bin Laden was captured before his killing

The CIA categorically denies two stories coming out of Pakistan, sourced to bin Laden family members:

1) that Osama bin Laden was captured at the scene and then killed minutes afterward; this from his daughter.

2) that a second bin Laden son, Mohammed, was thrown on the chopper as it departed Abbottabad.

"We categorically deny both of those," said a CIA spokesman.

Two senior US officials told NBC News Tuesday that the "only person other than the team who left Abbottabad was Osama Bin Laden's remains."

Report: Bin Laden Already Dead

Usama bin Laden has died a peaceful death due to an untreated lung complication, the Pakistan Observer reported, citing a Taliban leader who allegedly attended the funeral of the Al Qaeda leader.

"The Coalition troops are engaged in a mad search operation but they would never be able to fulfill their cherished goal of getting Usama alive or dead," the source said.

Bin Laden, according to the source, was suffering from a serious lung complication and succumbed to the disease in mid-December, in the vicinity of the Tora Bora mountains. The source claimed that bin Laden was laid to rest honorably in his last abode and his grave was made as per his Wahabi belief.

About 30 close associates of bin Laden in Al Qaeda, including his most trusted and personal bodyguards, his family members and some "Taliban friends," attended the funeral rites. A volley of bullets was also fired to pay final tribute to the "great leader."

The Taliban source who claims to have seen bin Laden's face before burial said "he looked pale ... but calm, relaxed and confident."

Asked whether bin Laden had any feelings of remorse before death, the source vehemently said "no." Instead, he said, bin Laden was proud that he succeeded in his mission of igniting awareness amongst Muslims about hegemonistic designs and conspiracies of "pagans" against Islam. Bin Laden, he said, held the view that the sacrifice of a few hundred people in Afghanistan was nothing, as those who laid their lives in creating an atmosphere of resistance will be adequately rewarded by Almighty Allah.

When asked where bin Laden was buried, the source said, "I am sure that like other places in Tora Bora, that particular place too must have vanished."

How convenient! Say he is dead and then hide him in your back yard in a three story villa for six years. You want to believe the Pakisanies instead of our President?

Two good things from this story.

First, there is no denial from the Bin Laden family that he was dead. Go Seals.

Second, that they are liars like their father and want to make it seem we executed him. The order was dead or alive and I prefer dead. Can you imagine if we had to put the man on trial in the US.

IL: The order was dead or alive and I prefer dead.

In this case, I agree. Certainly there are some that would have liked to have questioned bin Laden for 6-12 months, but the finality of bin Laden's sudden departure certainly is an acceptable alternative.

IL: Can you imagine if we had to put the man on trial in the US.

The trial would not have been on US soil. It probably would have been a very secretive military trial with the sentence carried out hours after it was concluded. Perhaps they could have done something similar as they did with Saddam.

Sadaam was a tried in a public televised trial in Iraq and they video taped his hanging. Never going to hsppen here. With Bin Laden, he was never going to talk. The intel materials captured, computers, hard drives, etc, should give our intelligence community more than they would ever have gotten from him.

      Oh...I'm really against SECRET trials.

Allegedly dead, if you trust Obama and his buddies. After all, Obama is our elected employee, and he now decides what we can see. Our new MOMMY is wiping our chins and telling us we are not capable of seeing facts without a touchdown dance huh? Thats not a POTUS, thats a KEEPER. Just like too much TV will rile the inmates. Forgove me for not waving the Obama did it all flag, but this is not very transparent, and we now get to be lied about by the surviving children with nothing to show in refute. As I see it now, theres a timeline scam about what pictures the Senate has seen.

Rah Rah Obama wipe our drippy noses and keep us safe from ourselves as we wonder if you should legally be POTUS. The mighty masses will call us teabaggers in blogs as the executive and judicial branches back the NEW LEAF.

The argument over whether or not bin Laden was armed is ridiculous. Equate that to a hypothetical invasion of the White House – the Secret Service carry, not the President. Bin Laden had his security but they failed to stop our Navy Seals from seeking their target. The truth of the matter is there was no way of knowing what might have been hidden within that compound – if it was a negotiable situation, we would’ve sent diplomats instead of soldiers.

If ben Laden is not truely dead, he himself will prove that. If indeed dead....well.

Instead of pictures, I think he should have been behaeded and his head be displayed fro all the world to see.

He was shot before he could reach his weapon; if he even had one. That's why it's called a 'surprise attack' when one's enemy is caught ill-prepared to do battle in war.

I do agree with Ira's 2 good points though. He is Dead and the family lies. Both too true to deny.

I too am glad we finally found him. My questions is why has the original story changed. First he had a gun and returned fire and he used his wife as a shield. Today it's just the opposite. The President and his staff watched the whole thing LIVE!!!! There are pictures on line of the president watching. I'm sure he had a full briefing with in hours. Reports are out today that people that were there were released and are talking. I guess that wouldn't have anything to do with it. It just goes to show you that they are all liars!

OSB could have had a concealed weapon or not, he could have been trying to surrender, it does not matter to me. OSB is dead, he isnt coming back. If any person deserved death, it is/was OSB. OSB tried to bring down this country, instead he found a country with a resolve and a long memory. He tried and his efforts were found wanting. When you care enough to kill the very worst, you send in the very best.

Osama is dead; this is great news. I am concerned with an article posted on The Telegraph (UK paper), Thursday 05, 2011. According to the article, Leon Panetta stated that there was no LIVE coverage of the raid (with respect to the WH watching the raid inside the house ) and that the SEAL TEAM made the decision to kill bin Laden NOT the president. Paneta: "The authority here was to kill bin Laden and obviously, UNDER THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (my caps), if he had in fact thrown up his hands, surrendered, and didn't appear to be representing any kind of threat, then they were to capture him."

I suggest that this is a first trail balloon to throw the Seal Team under the bus by stating that 1) The president did not give a field command to kill bin Laden (excuse: video blackout) 2) That the Seal Team did not perform under the rules of engagement (as would be interpreted by the WH).

I am hopeful that the Seal Team, as well as other covert teams, have prepared for a brutal period of field operation review and have taken the necessary precautions when they are brought before a review board (whether US Navy or Congress/WH).

My concerns are further strenthened by the constant revisions made by the WH as to all the events (WH/Field) and how they transpired.

My best to the Ops Teams...the old saying of Keep your powder dry and your knives sharp is very appropriate during this time in history.

OMG!!! (excuse: video blackout) Another transparent King Obama Watergate ploy!!!!! With all this daily distraction who will ever get back to whether or not he is American enough to be POTUS. Examine the long form scam!!!! No matter how well he performs, I want to be sure he deserves to be in that seat!!! He is leaving us looking like children being scolded because we can't hold our tongues!!
