From NBC's Savannah Guthrie and Bob Windrem
Officials tell NBC News that President Barack Obama was able to monitor the assault on the compound that housed Osama Bin Laden in real time Sunday night from the Situation Room.
The president received "audio and visual" updates from the scene as it was unfolding, said one U.S. official.
When the team on the ground reported back that they had killed the organization's leader, at approximately 3:55pm ET on Sunday, applause broke out in the Situation Room.
According to current and former officials, CIA Director Leon Panetta was also able to watch the operation in real time from the CIA, conferring live with Vice Admiral William H. McRaven, head of the Joint Special Operations Command, who was in Afghanistan.
Full video of the assault is unlikely to be released because it contains operations information.
Two moments during the raid were particularly "heartstopping," according to one official.
The first was when the operation's helicopters first arrived at the scene. The plan was for the choppers to hover and lower 12 Seals to the ground rather than land. But one of the choppers stopped working due to a lack of air within the high compound walls.
It made a soft landing (not a crash) on the ground and the raid went forward. At that point a third "emergency" chopper on standby came to the scene.
As the team returned with bin Laden's body, they blew up the broken chopper, which resulted in a "massive explosion." The team exited in two helicopters.
The other tense moment came when the choppers were leaving the country but remained within Pakistani airspace. The Pakistanis, seeing the choppers and not knowing if they were friendly or not, scrambled their fighter jets, causing white knuckles before the helicopters were able to leave.
NBC's Courtney Kube contributed.

How awesome is THAT?
I wondered this morning where President Obama was, and who he was with when this was going down.
Thanks for the update First Read!
Being the bleeding heart liberal I am, let me say, that I hope there is a 'special' place in hell for Osama bin Laden!
I too wish to thank First Read for giving us this story. Our President could hear and see the events as they unfolded. What an incredible story!!
Feisty, it must have been one hell of a tense day at the White House. So much could have happened to push this assault off-track, and not least of those possibilities was Pakistan responding sooner and more aggressively.
One of the issues which will surely be hot in days or weeks to come is how bin Laden could have been located in what is virtually a major Pakistani military canton. Not only is that already raising questions in the U.S., but also may indicate some serious divisions within the Pakistani military. It's been known for some time that there is an element sympathetic to militant Islam in the Pakistani miliary.
This was a brilliant operation, performed with great precision and skill. And who wiouldn't have wanted to be a fly on the wall ......
Anyone else notice the eerie coincidence that it was 8 years to the day 'W' declared Mission Accomplished?

a little off topic now we know the prez was so happy ar the dinner
May 1st, 1945 was also the day that we received conformation that Adolph Hitler was dead!
Believe what you want. The entire scenerio is too much like something produced in a movie. The drama... OH THE DRAMA. Boots on the ground know different and when this occurred. Obama is up to something, and you can believe it's political in nature... everything the man does is political. I can assure you, OBL was NOT killed this Sunday, or even last Sunday. In fact he wasn't killed on a Sunday at all. Don't believe everything that comes out of THIS administration.
whoa...... i would love watch this epic catch. it's simply awesome.
just can't thank these guys enough.

One thing for sure Bush did not kill Bin Laden. You can believe that.
None would be so blind as those who will not see...or hear...or feel...or care that we have the best damn President one could hope for in this or any situation. The man has the steady hand of leadership, the vision for a future without fear in AMERICA and the courage to back both up.
So Brian, the drama here IS real AND it is a BIG DEAL. Dubya couldn't even get the guy. Not a TORA BORA! Definitely not in IRAQ and NOT where everyone was saying he was "...in the tribal mountainous region of southern Pakistan. Now he is gone and the world is better off for it.
Brian your self-righteousness is showing as much as your voluntary blindness. OBAMA has just shown the world that he has the cajones to LEAD and you can't stand it. Now a gob of your buds in the GOP/TP were on all the talk show this weekend calling for the President to LEAD.
Well, HE IS LEADING. Idiots. P'shaw on your naysaying BRAINb-999431
Christ. Conspiracy theories. That didn't take long at all, did it?
you are an @!$%#
Missy,
The raid happened during the past week, with the DNA testing also last week. Confirmed by sources within the military and the intelligence organizations.
Call it a conspiracy if you want, but unfortunately, the facts coming from this administration MUST be distorted to protect a number of sources. I will give Obama credit for pulling the trigger.
Political as someone suggested - perhaps, but this is the second time this target has been fixed and thankfully the trigger was pulled.
Now we have a number of folks on both sides of the political equation saying one thing or another. Let's all take the time to reflect on the lives stolen from us during the 9/11 tradity. Perhaps they can be remembered as Americans and not libbies or conservatives.
Brianb, you wouldn't believe it if a dog came up and bit you on your butt. You are just jealous that Pres. Obama, did what Bush could never do, kill the bastard, bin Laden. "Hail to the Cheif"! We will wait for your next conspiracy theory, not!
How can you people be sooooo blind? Where is the proof?? So Obama gets on TV says he's dead, says we have DNA evidence, and we're supposed to just believe it? Seriously??? They have no proof and whoops... his body is already at sea. No pictures, and they've already said they won't release the video because it has operations information on it... hello... you can take the sound out of a video. You trust your government way too much. Constantly trusting and believing that what our forefathers founded is still here. It's not, it's the "new world order" and if you keep buying into this BS, then it will be much of the same.
I'm sorry, but until there's real proof, I'm not believing a word.
As I stare at a picture of Mount Rushmore, I am very proud to say that I am an American! Thank you to all of the service men and women out there in the world. I know all of you wish you could have been that one who pulled the trigger on Osama bin Laden. In a way, you all did. Come back safe and soon!
Not blind,
If this were all made up for political reasons why wouldn’t they wait for 12-16 months, closer to the election?
Missy and Beverly - While I find Brian's comments completely wrong, your overblown praise of President Obama is way off-base. Obama didn't kill Osama bin Laden, our magnificent Armed Forces did.
Regardless of who is President, these brave men and women have kept a steadfast course for almost 10 years and they are the ones who truly deserve the accolades. They were the ones who risked their lives and they were the ones who performed a nearly flawless mission.
To them, I say THANK YOU a million times. May every one of you come home safely and quickly.
When did this killing take place, I heard last week and waited to get DNA results, then I hear yesterday or this morning????Sorry but if it happened this weekend ummm how did they get the DNA test back so fast? Stories are conflicting. Not saying he is not dead but I don't like all the mixed info.
I thank my President and my Commander in Chief for this. Obama ultimately pulled the trigger on the whole mission that took out Bin Laden. He gave the mission the decision to "GO" and took responsibility for its success or failure...The Navy Seals and CIA operators were acting on Orders, both Obama and the actual prosecuters "Acted". He deserves all the credit he is getting as well as all of our men and women in the Armed Forces who "Act" every day to keep America Safe. Today is a good day for Americans...not so good for Obama haters...and really it wouldn't matter what he accomplished they will hate him anyway... they don't count in my book, because they vote and "act" with their hate...
There are a bunch of screwballs here who remind me of that guy in Brazil on July 20, 1969. He threw the TV out his high-rise window in fury at the "lies" on it .... NOBODY landed on the moon, he insisted!
Then he, just like the nutjobs here, put on his tinfoil hat and tried to tune in to the alien mothership .....
For those unwilling to give President Obama any credit, let alone significant credit, you have my pity. It must be a sad existence to live with so much hate in your heart. The inability to be 100% happy about OBL's capture/death because much credit goes to Obama must be particularly hard, especially to people who claim to be so patriotic!
No President Obama didn't don a flight suit and join the mission, but the mission depended on the Commander in Chief giving the go ahead order. Without Obama authorizing the mission it would not have happened. If the mission, like Carter's Iran hostage rescue attempt, had failed all blame would have gone to Obama, even though he isn't in charge of servicing the helicopters, etc. The President was willing to accept for blame for failure, and he's such a class act he doesn't care that a fraction of right wing nut jobs can't bring them self to give him the credit he deserves.
Brianb-999431 = BUTT HEAD
Hawkeye - not sure if you are partially responding to me but I do give the President credit for giving the go ahead and putting the right people in place to come up with the right plan for victory.
But if you read some of these posts, you would think Obama himself was the one who killed bin Laden. Obama risked having a failed mission for political pundits to criticize and possibly affecting his re-election bid, but the people who actually executed the plan RISKED THEIR LIVES. They should get the credit. They should be the ones who are commended first and foremost.
According to Missy, Obama is "best damn President one could hope for in this or any situation. The man has the steady hand of leadership, the vision for a future without fear in AMERICA and the courage to back both up."
She heaps that kind of praise on the President and doesn't even mention the people who actually completed the mission, our troops and intelligence community. Like I said, she is way off-base in my opinion.
Pointing out the true heroes in this scenario in no way diminishes the President.
I am a bleeding heart liberal... but I do agree that Obama cannot claim too much personal credit for this. The trail of breadcrumbs that led to this hideout was being followed before 9/11. The couriers were being identified and tracked before the compound was even built in 2005. It was long, slow work. It would have come to an end right now, in 2011, no matter who was president.
I also agree that had the mission failed and bin Laden escaped, Obama would have been blasted for the failure as if it was somehow his fault. But it wouldn't have been.
The military doesn't act of it's own initiative, let alone a specialized strike force heading into a country without any advance notice and taking out out of the world's infamous terrorists. Of course the strike force deserves praise, but quibbling about whether Obama is getting too much or not enough praise is absurd. He's the commander in chief and you get bet your buttocks that had this mission failed miserably, he'd have been raked over the coals on all sides for the failure.
As for continuing nonsense about disbelief it's Osama--you people really need to get a life so this conspiracy nonsense doesn't take one more nanosecond of anyone's time.
I can't believe some of these posts. The President of the United States can not do anything right. He's damned if he does and he's damned if he doesn't. (A few of you thinking it didn't happen need to see a shrink). My word to you - someday there will be another Republican president, and someday there will be a woman president, and let's just hope he don't always have old white guys as presidents....but you who can't support this President may have a huge backlash towards the President you like that is in power - and the war within the US goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on - between political parties. Thanks to our stupid Congress and the media and our less intelligent population that gets sucked into it.
He must have a I phone ! .....And i love palins response.... Osama who?..lol
Sarah who?

Anyone else notice the eerie coincidence that it was 8 years to the day 'W' declared Mission Accomplished?
Talk about collective karma, huh? Before I stop practicing any religion I practiced Buddhism.
it is generally explained that the collective karma of all the beings on this planet is responsible for the general characteristics of this planet and the elements that make it up.
Karma, or more specifically, positive or negative karmic forces (bsod-nams or sdig-pa) and karmic tendencies (sa-bon), whether individual or collective, ripen into various types of results. One of these results is a dominating result (bdag-po’i ‘bras-bu). A dominating result is our experiencing of the type of environment or society in which we are born or enter, and the way it treats us, or objects such as our possessions, and what happens to them.

Did you check you e-mail box? I sent an-mail
The President apparently has collected some good karma.
A lion can be gentle but roars before he rushes on his prey.
The President was gentle and happy having a rollicking time at the White House Press Conference Dinner when he yucked it up dumping all things Trump.
Then roared when he got Bin Laden.
I'll take a peek & get back to ya! ;o)
did you check Hillary photo today? Was Slick Willy trying to stain her dress and missed and hit her hair instead?
dontgivemethepenguin you're pathetic!
Your posts leave me stunned, they are degrading, nasty, and childish. Why don't you just go away and leave the conversation to the adults. But then again, isn't that what the T-party and Republicans want, us all stunned and degraded and dehumanized?
I am a registered DEM.
No. You are a certified jackass. Not the same thing.
As Ricky Ricardo might say, "Lucy, you got some 'splainin' to do!"
Our fellow citizens on the left might consider giving up the relentless drumbeat of “war crimes” for those who did so much of the long and lonely work to make this possible. Even with the so-called “harsh” interrogation techniques used on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, it took years to put together the pieces. How many honestly regret those techniques this morning, or that we had Guantanamo to house KSM and his colleagues for further reference.
Naw, Bob- the 'drumbeat' we dance to most is 'Ditherer-in-Chief'.
(oh, and it looks like you are GLAD Gitmo is still open for business, then? I've seen some on here chid the Comander-In-Chief for not closing it after all....)
Sorry...doesn't work that way.
Yesterday's events do not vindcate or justify any questionable interrogation techniques that may have been used...nor do they excuse or forgvie any violations of our Constitution that may have occurred.
Bob:
I just slapped you down a few minutes ago and here you go again. The harsh interrogation techniques used at Gitmo had nothing, nothing to do with yesterdays events. The prisoners at Gitmo are locked up...They had no idea where Bid Laden was located yesterday. Ground informers, some placed there 5 years ago, gave the crucial intelligence information. If you are searching for some reason to give Bush 43 some credit, look to the informants that were sent to Pakastin some time ago.
Harsh interrogration techniques, including waterboarding, is called torture. The entire world agrees it is not an acceptable way to treat prisoners. The only exception to that rule may be you and Cheney.
I thought you were smarter than that Bob. Gitmo prisoners had nothing to do with yesterday's events.
Thanks, Ron - for anyone to suggest that information obtained through torture years ago was somehow responsible for us being able to pinpoint where bin Laden would actually be standing this past weekend is beyond ludicrous.
And the ends don't always justify the means anyway. If we have any hope at all of someday bringing our brand of democracy to this part of the world, then we seriously need to practice what we preach.
Ron
YES they did. It has been said that detainees identified the couriers years ago. That is where it started. It really doesn't matter where the information came from or who did what. What we have here is a very good outcome of years of work from many people involved. That includes Republicans and democrats and independents and President Obama and President Bush. A job well done to all.
Bob - for me, the end does not justify the means. Yes, I'm glad Bin Laden is dead, but I'm still against the using the "harsh" interrogation techniques we reportedly used.
Ron Indiana - from what I've heard, the existence of the courier networks and how they functioned was described by one of the Gitmo detainees after interrogation...so I think it's fair to give the interrogations with partial credit. However, it still doesn't justify torture in my opinion.
It does in my book...torture the f out of em.
Bob,
Do you not know the difference between Afghanistan, a war supported by most Americans, and was a result of 9/11 and Iraq? And there is zero evidence that a scintilla of information leading to Bin Laden's capture/shoot out, was due to torture. The couriers nick name was discovered 4 years ago, that was late in Bush's second term long after he vowed he had ended the enhanced interrogation techniques! Reality must suck for the far right nut jobs, which is why they have to make up facts!
@ Ron. "techniques used @ Gitmo had nothing, nothing to do with...events" because the "prisoners were locked up". Umm, it was those very prisoners in Gitmo that identified the couriers in 2007, which, in turn, led the U.S to Osama's location. You know, the 2 couriers that were killed along with him. The prisoners are indeed still locked up but our interrogation techniques provided the missing link that led to this event. (Translation: Had Everything to do with the Events). Bush 43 policies by the way. Why are you so averse to giving credit where credit is due? Do you really think that saying "nothing" 3 times makes it more of a fact or are you just trying to convince yourself?
Thanks, FR, for all your reporting on this situation.
When I heard that part about the Pakistani's scrambling their forces when the helicopters were leaving, I wondered what did they do when they arrived? Or was it because of the explosion? Thanks to the brave men and women of our armed services for their service to our country and indeed the world.
Steeler Fan, did you read the story about a Pakastani computer programmer on Twitter who accidentally live tweeted the action? He was on the computer when he heard helicopters over head. then he described the explosion. Then all the rumors in town about what was happening. No one knew. It was only after Obama announced the action that he understood what happened in his own neighborhood. Technology is really changing our world, isn't it?
It never occurred to me that bin Laden himself would be in a shoot out. I always assumed a bomb would get him.
It's unbelievable how this all went down. 40 minutes. 4 dead.
In the final moments, it was bin Laden v. The United States of America - face to face. As it should have been.
Can we now stop sending billions a month to Pakistan ...knowing " they knew" exactly where he was for the last few years .......a huge security presence within miles of 3 army installations ... clue phone ...they don't like us !
Agreed, lets' stop giving the Pakestani's cash. They knew.
Congrats to our military and President Obama for staying with it, and not dithering off to another country (as did Bush in Iraq).
Obama kept his cool, kept on target, and rid the universe of a dastardly scourge!
maybe you already forgot. Obama sent troops to Lybia
I don't know, but I am beginning to suspect that this president is not only a great leader, but is also calm, cool, collected and is able to do what he has to do within the confines of our political system. And all of that in spite of the never ending, heel nippers he has to put with from every angle imaginable. Good job US military and cudos to President Obama.
Barry - hmmm I was wondering if anyone was going to say that. This man IS a great leader - and he instills confidence in me because he is calm, cool, and collected. There is enough craziness and rhetoric in our current political system that I almost have to tune it out or turn it off for a while in order to center myself again.
@Lefty: Thats just how I see it. And, the Birther thing was---I don't know what to say. And I hate to drag out old questions, but I'm still waiting to see W's DD214. I have one which I received when I separated from the Army after leaving Vietnam. I'll proudly show anybody my papers. Bush never did because he doesn't have one.
Oh, puhleeze! How much cool does it take to push the easy button from ten of thousands miles away. How very brave in spite of fear for his own personal safety.
A LOT!
This is a Commander-in-Chief we can all be proud of. He had said, if we had Osama in our sights, he would not hesitate. Kudos, Mr. President. When Bush had Osama in his sight, he sent in the Pakistanis soldiers to do the job, which of course did not get done. Obama did not hesitate. He had Osama in his sights and he went in without hesitation, without fanfare. Would anybody else have been so brave? No, they would have played politics in Pakistan and lost the chance once again. Hail, Obama, a magnificent Commander-in-Chief and our military who carried out the order with precision.
The irony, of course, being how quickly many on the left have changed course from berating Obama for not ending all overseas military operations immediately on taking office as he'd promised to now celebrating him as the greatest Commander in Chief we've ever had! You kids could be a great source of green energy for all the spinning you do! Yet I'm sure none will give the least bit of credit to President Bush for his part in starting the operation five years ago that eventually led to this victory.
Suzy, no one said he was the greatest commander in chief - they are just giving him credit for having the cajones to make the call - which could have backfired since we were in Pakistan without their permission. And I'm sure everyone wants the wars to end that cost a trillion dollars and more so far (talk about the deficit) and 4,400 American lives. I'm sure you do. But don't give Bush credit. He didn't do anything but chase paper tigers by trying to tie bin Ladin with Iraq so he'd have the excuse to finish what his father started.
"for anyone to suggest that information obtained through torture years ago was somehow responsible for us being able to pinpoint where bin Laden would actually be standing this past weekend is beyond ludicrous"
Oh, really? You are 100% wrong, as usual...
Reuters:
"They were led to the fortress-like three-story building after more than four years tracking one of bin Laden's most trusted couriers, whom U.S. officials said was identified by men captured after the September 11, 2001 attacks.
"Detainees also identified this man as one of the few al Qaeda couriers trusted by bin Laden. They indicated he might be living with or protected by bin Laden," a senior administration official said in a briefing for reporters."
I hope all Americans can come together like we did on September 11, 2001 and rejoice in the news that we finally ended the life of this murderous mad man.
Just to set the records straight, fact:
Detainees at Gitmo, around 6 years ago, provided (after enduring "aggressive"interrrogation techniques) a code word that was later linked to an aide or courier to Usam Bin Laden. That information was worked through by both the Bush and Obama administrations culminating in yesterday's action. Credit should go to both administrations for the excellent work and dedication exhibited by all involved.
You can rail and rant all you want against Gitmo and the methods used by dedicated government personnel to extract this information, the bottom line is they WORK and these people are Patriots who keep us safe and allow us to have these kind of forums with which to air our opinions.
barry-barry-libcon
I don't know, but I am beginning to suspect that this president is not only a great leader, but is also calm, cool, collected and is able to do what he has to do within the confines of our political system.
That is one reason I get so angry when people try to rearrange President Obama's personality. Pat Buchanan said let Sarah be Sarah.
You see what an idiot she proved to be.
Let President be the fearless, cool calm, collective, straightforward, President he is.
Besides, we had one lying idiot roping saddles and digging his spurs in angrily who never should have been president in the first place.
What a great day for all Americans, and Bev from Chicago continues to divide people with her racist comments.
So Sally, you don;t respond to two queries, plus an email to your location. Double standards, huh?
Hey administrator Sally,
Care to respond at all? Didn't think so libbie.
@Beverly in Chicago: My observation was only on the point that this president has been under fire ever since he took the oath. Birthers, for God's sakes. Limbaugh, Beck, Savage, Hannity, and hundreds of lesser but highly paid misinformation spewers 24 hours a day. The previous president, when simply asked about his service papers, refused to show them and got the anchor people asking the questions fired. This president was called a liar during a State of the Union, and although the charge was patently false, the congressman not only kept his job, but received large donations from Birthers I suppose. Could you imagine that happening to President Bush? Could you imagine President Bush doing an interview and being interrupted almost 50 times during that interview? Which occurred on three occasions with President Obama. You also mentioned Sarah Palin. What does she have to do with anything?
The bottom line...
When he came into office, Barack Obama purposely left President Bush's standing order in place to get Osama bin Laden... DEAD OR ALIVE !
This was because Barack Obama knew that it was not only good publicity... but, Obama also knew that he was inept and totally incompetent regarding military intelligence and tactical procedures.
Obama easily acknowledged his military incompetence, from the very beginning by keeping President Bush's military personell in the Obama administration, as well..... Secretary of Defense, William Gates.... Middle East Commander... General David Petraeus, etc.
But, because Obama is the typical ego-eccentic who craves the lime-light.... he and MSNBC will always claim credit for following through with the original standing order from President Bush.
.... After all.... Obama knows his popularity is in downward spiral.... and he admits he is in full campaign mode, remember ?
Wow wow wow. I guess "incompetence" prevailed over chest thumping bravado, now didn't it. What a miserable soul you are.
I guess you've also forgotten your hero's very own words and actions regarding bin laden...
In March 2002, just six months after 9/11, Bush said of bin Laden, "I truly am not that concerned about him.... You know, I just don't spend that much time on him, to be honest with you."
In July 2006, we learned that the Bush administration closed its unit that had been hunting bin Laden.
In September 2006, Bush told Fred Barnes, one of his most sycophantic media allies, that an "emphasis on bin Laden doesn't fit with the administration's strategy for combating terrorism."
You can continue to avoid facts and reality, just don't hurt anyone else.
I'm not a huge fan of President Obama, but I'm constantly amazed at the number of people who claim somehow to see inside President Obama's head and report what he "knows" and "craves." Not replacing a qualified military leader isn't a sign of incompetence. It's more a recognition that the right leader had already been selected for the job.
The amount of hatred some people display toward our president, and the creative justification for that hatred is truely incredible. The man doesn't walk on water, but some people would criticize him for using a boat. He is a human in a very demanding position; and he seems to be doing just as well or better as any in recent history.
Obama made Osama his number one priority read it and then come back and say "yeah but he wasn't even born here." or whatever B%^& SH^!t.. you are going to try and vomit out of your mouth
read this website boss.

Obama haters are just haters, they don't count.
I agree with Tim about the haters of Obama - he could really be Jesus in disguise doing miracles every day and they wouldn't believe it and still hate him.
@America the boss: I do not agree with even a teeny-teeny-tiny-tiny bit of your post. What ever it was, the facts show other wise. Example; President Lincoln did not have any military experience and in spite of great obstacles was able to preserve the Union. U. S. Grant was an excellent field commander, but was unable to run the nation successfully. Your post said nothing except a continuation of the rampant ankle biting which has inflicted our political discourse since the rise of conservative media. Are you paid?
What a wonderful testament to the skill and organization of the Navy Seals and the intelligence community.
Bob, what wacko weed are you smoking? That could be the only reason that you are unreasonable.
Brianb you're just pathetic. What a miserable soul. I won't even waste my time feeling sorry for you, just wallow in your bitterness - it will eat you alive.
I cannot get over the fact that everything on these pages has to come down to partisan politics. This was not about Bush or Obama, Republican or Democrats, or any of that other b.s. Congrats and well done to the troops, politicians, and intelligence for making this happen!
Trump will be furious that this attack was scheduled so that the news conference would preempt his latest episode of Celebrity Apprentice!
Everyone will want to take a little credit for this, but if you will notice no one would touch this when he was still on the loose. Let's give the President and his staff a lot of credit, they took it to the hole.
Osama is still alive. He was just seen on the grassy knoll with Whitey Bulger, Elvis and the Easter Bunny.
Also, wasn't that him on a old rerun of Wild Kingdom? M. Perkins: "Jim will wrestle the alligator while Osama and I eat Fritos in the back of the Jeep. WATCH OUT JIM!"
Lighten up on the vitriol everyone and enjoy the day. Say a prayher for our lost citizens and comrades and their families and friends. And sit back for the amazing stories of who knew what and when in Pakistan. Such allies.
Amen Mass Chemist,
That is if we can still say that in America today.
Let's all get away from the partisan politics for a day and feel happy that those operators returned with the Usama body, and returned safely. Focus your thoughts on how those families that lost loved ones during 9/11 must feel today.
Thank a veteran for their service......and all those who willingly went into harms-way for your liberties.
We can all go back to our partisan views later.
Well said, safecracker!
Ding dong the wicked witch is dead right?....What a joke the American people are....Wrap it in a flag, play an anthem behind it, and put it on fox news and you could sell a mountain of @!$%# to these people for everything they got. Are you people really this f-ing gullible? The death of Ben Laden means nothing...NOTHING!!!....So what?...the war on terror is over?....radical islam will suddenly come to an end?....Al Queda won't hate us any more?....YEAH right!!!...I'm sure the US military will be coming home right away now that Bin Laden is dead... LOL!!!....This may shock the hell out of you morons, but 9/11 was not committed by Bin Laden or Al Queda!....I know...GASP!!!!....9/11 was committed by the CIA and the US government to convince americans to send their kids to the middle east to secure OIL....Plain and simple. Even the most amature of investigators can prove that the events of 9/11 as accounted by the US government were scientifically and mathematically impossible....repeat....IMPOSSIBLE!....No credible government investigation has yet been done on the 9/11 events. The 9/11 commission report was a shameful and totally inadequate explanation for the event. We still have no logical explanation for WTC building 7 collapse, the vaporization of 2 jumbo jetliners, and molten steel puddles laced with military grade thermate in the rubble months after the collapse. Wake the f^%k up people....The WTC was professionally demolished....No commercial jet hit the pentagon.....No commercial jet crashed in a field in Pennsylvania....Until a real investigation is done and brought before the American people there will never be closure on the events of 9/11.....THe truth is out there, we just don't have it yet. Bin Laden is and always has been a side show!...
.THe truth is out there, we just don't have it yet.
So then what are you talking about. Shut your pie hole. You went on like you thought you knew what you were talking about and then say you don't know what the truth is. Have you shot your self in the face lately? Just asken.
Your comment makes no sense what so ever....But then again I don't speak redneck. Maybe I can get a redneck translator in this forum to decipher what ever nonsense you've got to spew. If you think the government gave you the truth about 9/11 that's your business....I never said I had the truth about 9/11 only that I know what's NOT true (the government's 9/11 story). None of us know the real story because the government refused to do a proper investigation on the matter, then they used this fictional story to sell us a war in Iraq that had been preplanned for years by Rumsfield, Cheney and Wolfowitz. But whatever....why think for yourself when you can just rely on Sean Hannity and Glen Beck to think for you?....right?....just asken'.
youmama is just a libbie wingnut without any common sense. You do need to take your meds person.
Typical and predictable response from a ignoramus uninterested in facts or any evidence that may run contrary to a predetermined world view...much easier to get your education from a corporate owned media outlet and demonize anyone who might challenge your brainwashed opinion.
Yomamma you are a fool living in a fantasy world! I'm not a fan of W and the vast majority of those who worked for him, but if you believe that 9/11 was an inside job, you are more sick and pathetic than the far right birthers. And I don't speak red neck either. But I'd rather speak red neck than live in your demented world!
I'm a fool because I won't accept a government fairytale that needs to suspend the laws of math and science in order to make it believable.....Ok buddy.....I'll just accept the government's version, that way I don't actually have to think. I'm sure there was no ulterior motive involved, certainly nothing to do with OIl and control over the middle east......LOL! I guess Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, and Don Rumsfield just got lucky that 9/11 happened so they could convince the American public to go along with the plans they made to invade Iraq years before the attacks.....please......go back to your flock already.
yomama, Are you sure you aren't Paul
yomama,
Keep your fantisy coming guy, you're comments are always good for a laugh. You should get together with the self-proclaimed racist, Bev from Chicago, and form a tag-team on anyone who posts a different belief than you.
And don't worry about getting censored, if Bev the self-proclaimed racist can rant without Salley the administrator censoring her, you have it made with your ignorant comments.
Yomama, You probably need to move to another country, or maybe a planet. Did anyone ever tell you you are ranting and raving? You are brainwashed, and you don't even know it.
Clever response Lefty...let me guess....harvard educated?....LOL
I'll admitt I'm brainwashed.....brainwashed by the scientific facts on hand. Guess that means I'm an outsider in this here forum. Nevertheless....
For the record I did move to another country....the day after the owners gifted George Bush the presidency back in 2000. I left to avoid the ensuing disaster. I had no idea. Since then I've watched with utter amazement the systematic implosion of my country. For those of you who haven't made it outside the trailer park in the last decade, The USA has become the laughing stock of the world....a total embarrassment...Fat, lazy goo brains trained to bark when ever a corporate mouthpiece throws them a bone. But whatever....You guys seem to have all the answers.....you got it all figured out...you just keep feeding from that corporate news trough while the banking cartel and corporate gangsters keep bending you over a barrel and robbing you blind. It's worked like a dream for you guys up to this point hasn't it? The american dream is really kicking ass isn't it?!! Don't worry I'm sure those bankers will be giving those stolen trillions back to you soon enough...perhaps charging 20% interest, but they'll give it back....oh and the jobs yeah those will be coming back real soon too.....just keep lowering those taxes a little more for the rich....they'll be hiring soon....That's right.... nothing to see here.... keep those heads down and keep eating....BAH, BAH!!!
"The FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden with the 911 attacks on America" - FBI spokesman Rex Tomb
@yomama: I don't really know about those things you said. But, I do know that the first people on the scene at Shanksville, (local reporters and fire and rescue) commented that they thought it strange that there weren't any plane parts, dishes, body parts, or anything which appeared to be man made around the impact crater.
A full and hearty thanks to 1) our intelligence services for their excellent work in finding one despicable excuse for a human being out of almost 7 billion, 2) our special operations troops, who displayed the skill, nerve & smarts to accomplish the mission, despite hitches; they improvised, adapted & overcame, 3) our commander-in-chief, who did what leaders do: lead & bear the weight of that decision in front of the nation.
May the families of his victims feel a sense of closure, the enemies of terrorism a sense of pride, and the terrorists themselves a sense of dread & fear, as they wonder which one of them is next.
Many still speak of our President being week on National Security. I'm seeing a man that has the ability to carry out the business at hand without tipping it off to the public. He observed, listened and made the decision to "GO". After giving the order to "GO" order, he had to go about the business of the President as if everything was normal while knowing all along what was going down. That included keeping up his schedule with no changes that might have tipped others that something was amidst. He did it and did it well. I remember when the tanker was taken by pirates off the coast of Somalia and everyone was screaming that he should be taking action to take these guys out. Unknown to the public, he assessed the situation, made the decision to give the "GO" orders and then he went about his daily routine until the operation had been carried out. I wouldn't exactly say that was a sign of a weak President. To the contrary, the message it sends to me is that if this President says he is coming after you he will slow walk you down and strike when you least expect it. I would say that doing harm to Americans under this President would be a reckless venture with very limited lifetime gains potential.
Ken, with that being said...I'm not playing poker with the President
