A political game-changer?

If you follow American politics, you know it can change in a blink of an eye.

In the last few weeks, as gasoline prices have continued to climb in the United States, President Obama has seen his poll numbers decline, suggesting a potential vulnerability in 2012.

But the news that Osama bin Laden has been killed -- on Obama's watch -- is most definitely a political game-changer and appears destined to impact the contours of the 2012 presidential race, as well as the emerging Republican field. Of course, the size of the impact is yet unknown and will be played out in the months ahead, especially with U.S. unemployment near 9%. The 2012 general election, after all, is more than 550 days away.

As NBC's Chuck Todd also mentioned, it could have an impact on the U.S. involvement in Afghanistan-Pakistan. Does it make the U.S. re-evaluate the mission there? Does it affect the troop draw-down that's scheduled to begin this summer?

Not surprising that all of the Republicans here are poo-pooing this GREAT HISTORICAL EVENT!

Oh, crap, they are all saying. Obama accomplished what Bush II couldn't or wouldn't do. Obama, the black president, did the impossible.

LANDSLIDE for Obama in 2012, no matter how many lies and distortions the Repugs can manufacture.

I doubt it necessarily changes anything in the long run in and of itself. President George H.W. Bush did a remarkable job in Iraq, liberating Kuwait, and what did that end up contributing to his second term chances?

Additionally, as others have been cautioning in the broadcast, threat levels will be elevated for a bit now, as al Qaida and the splinter groups try to prove that they are still relevant. All it takes is one of those other groups to manage a successful strike on US soil and President Obama will be under fire for allowing a terror attack to occur.

There's still plenty of time between now and the elections - anything can happen.

In 1998 Gadhafi issued the FIRST Interpol Arrest Warrant on Osama bin Ladin. Britains MI6, America's CIA BLOCKED the warrant from being carried out.

If Gadhafi's Interpol Warrant on Osama bin Ladin had been allowed to deport Osama bin Ladin back to Libya, the US Embassy attacks in Africa and the 9/11 attacks in America which cost thousands of American lives would not have occurred.

Why did Libya's Gadhafi issue a Interpol Arrest Warrant on Osama bin Ladin? French and UK military intelligence shows that MI6, CIA paid Osama bin Ladin who was working for them at that time, 100,000 dollars to assassinate Gadhafi in 1996. The plot by Osama bin Ladin to assassinate Gadhafi was uncovered by Gadhafi and crushed in 1998. Whereupon Gadhafi immediately issued the Interpol Arrest Warrant to capture and deport Osama bin Ladin from anywhere in the world MI6 and the CIA had moved Osama bin Ladin to.

It appears both MI6 and the CIA feared that Osama bin Ladin would be captured and heavily interrogated in Libya exposing Britain and America being behind the plot to assassinate Gadhafi and chose to eliminate Osama bin Ladin before he could be questioned. Whereupon the former employee of MI6 and the CIA went on a mass killing spree against Britian and America. First calling upon his Al Qaeda linked LIFG, AQIM East Libyan 'rebels' to help, plan and carry out the US Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania. The attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Towers. ALL would have been prevented IF MI6 and the CIA had not interfered and BLOCKED Gadhafi's Interpol Arrest Warrant on Osama bin Ladin in 1998.

Gadhafi issued the FIRST 1998 Interpol Arrest Warrant on Osama bin Ladin and that is a matter of public record. Anyone can quiery Interpol why that arrest warrant was not carried out and who blocked it.

Thousands of people are aware of this information and they are growing in number.

President Obama quietly - without fanfare - authorized a smart & well thought-out strategy to get Osama. America will be forever grateful that the goal was accomplished. To the Tea-Party & rightwing haters of President Obama ~ look into your heart and mind & recognize the evil that is there. Your hateis destroying this country. You can, of course, disagree with President Obama's policies, but when an event of this importance has taken place, you need to ask why you can not acknowledge this achievement and offer congratulations & a well-done. I pity those who hate irrationally. One's soul is empty if hate fills every word and deed.

Steve... are you trying to revisit history? 9/11 was not that long ago, and you are already changing the facts of these past ten years. Obama Bin Laden attacked this country, not Suddam Hussein. The Iraq war was a lie we were led into. Afghanistan was the true war, and Obama has always said so. He held true to his convictions and this is the result, TONIGHT!!! OSAMA BIN LADEN IS DEAD!!!

Bush let him get away in Tora Bora. Obama did not hold anything back in Islamabad. It amazes me that Republicans are held in such high esteem regarding national defense, but never in the history of this nation have Republicans brought a war to its end in victory. This is Victory for the United States brought to you by a Democratic President, AGAIN. Democrats know how to win wars! Osama is the only reason we went into Afghanistan and now he is dead.

I am speaking as a Veteran of these United States of America. May god bless.

The civil war is an exception that I will freely admit was brought to an end victoriously by a Republican President, Abraham Lincoln -- the first Republican President. I did not exempt my comment to modern day history as I intended to do so. Lincoln did win the American Civil War. Solely based on ideology, Lincoln would not be excepted into today's modern Republican Party of Palin, Trump, West or Barbour. He would be freely embraced in the modern-day Democratic Party that supports collective bargaining for workers. An issue Lincoln himself jumped out a window to support.

This is the real "Mission accomplished" moment for the U.S. And for those idiots who think this is staged, George Washington University is only a few blocks away and most of the spectators are students who heard what happened and grabbed flags, made signs and headed out to celebrate like real patriots. We already know that these racists and republicans will never give Obama any credit nor do we care. What matters is Bin Laden is dead and the victims of 9/11 can sleep well knowing justice has been done. History will record this as one of the most successful Presidencies in light of the historical acomplishments this President has made in just over 2 years (passing healthcare bill, 1st hispanic on supreme court, averted a 2nd great depression, killed bin laden to name a few). No matter what you ignorant yokels say or think, President Obama is intelligent, poised under pressure, accomplished, a leader and yes... he is black. Cry me a freakin' river, build a bridge and get over it! We have the body, forensics confirm the DNA and yes... OBAMA got Osama! Thanks to our troops and our Commander in Chief and President of the United States of America, Barack Obama! 4 more years... 4 more years!

One cannot help but be pleased with this outcome, and no doubt the President will see a bump in his approval ratings. But will that bump last when a month from now we're still paying $4.25 for gas, our soldiers are still dieing in Afghanistan, food prices are still going up and up, and we're still $14 trillion in debt with no forseeable way out? I doubt it.

This is going to help Obama barring a major terrorist attack (possibly a reprisal for Bin Laden) or a major setback in Afghanistan, Iraq or Libya (or all of the above). The fact of the matter is Obama has continued (if not expanded) Bush's foreign policy objectives. This fact should be brought to bear in the 2012 election and not simply that Bin Laden was killed on Obama's watch. Our economy still teeters on the verge of what could be the biggest economic collapse in history. Take our troops out of the Middle East and North Africa. Our presence there was what gave Bin Laden an excuse and his willing followers a personal reason to carry out the attacks of 9/11. Let's not give them any reasons ever again. This election is about a radical change in the country that has never been undertaken and that is public involvement in the policies of their own country. Remember that thousands if not millions of innocent people and military personnel have died at home and abroad partly because of America's elite foreign policy of the past 50 years and will continue to until a significant change to America's approach is undertaken. Obama was not really about change in the 2008 election. In this upcoming election, change from the bottom up should be forced upon Obama as a requirement by the American people and not used as lip service to coerce a deliberately misled and uniformed populace to the polls.

We are still paying for what happened under Reagan and Bushes one and two. Clinton didn't have his clean hands either. Ask the Haitians (a continuation of Reagan's policy). Ask the around 1 million innocent Iraqis that died as a result of Clinton's sanctions during the 1990s. I am by no means a conservative or right-wing. Quite the opposite. Our policies are too far to the right in general.

Does that mean a end of America's invasion and occupation of Afghanistan? NO, Halliburton is making BILLIONS per week off that operation. The US Military Complex is desperately needing WARS to continue it's gigantic Trillion dollar annual funding request for itself and defense related spending.

It does make it much tougher for former Governor Mitt Romney to beat Obama in the 2012 election which I am glad about. Romney would march America into WW3 just as Bush jr.'s hidden agenda was to march America into Iraq if Mitt Romney was elected as America's 2012 President. It's looking more tonight like that is not going to happen.
