PORTSMOUTH, NH -- Donald Trump is "proud" of himself for, as he puts it, "getting the president to release his birth certificate." In the minutes before Trump landed in Portsmouth, NH, to begin a day of stumping, the White House released President Obama's long-form birth certificate, and Trump told the press he heard about it while flying to the airfield.
"Today I'm very proud of myself, because I've accomplished something that no one else has been able to accomplish," Trump said, adding, "Our president has finally released a birth certificate."
However, he said he would have to check out the certificate himself and wondered why the president didn't do this "a long time ago."
With his Trump-emblazoned helicopter behind him, he began to answer questions about the birth certificate issue and whether he would run or not. Trump reiterated that he wouldn't announce until NBC's Celebrity Apprentice is over, but that the public would be "surprised" by his decision. "I think if I do run I'll do very well. Look, I'm already leading the polls and I'm not running." He continued, "I think I'd beat Obama."
Trump and the press moved away from the "birther" issue, allowing him the chance to disagree with the President on how he's handling rising gas prices in the country saying Obama "should be focused on OPEC and getting those prices down." As well as Libya where Trump said he would've handled that situation differently, "The rebels, I hear, are controlled by Iran and Al Qaeda...You could end up with worse than Khaddafy perhaps."
After the press conference, Trump heads to the Roundabout Diner to meet and greet with local diners.

Don't discredit all so called conspiracy theories. I am a 911 Truther, but no way with all the evidence proving Obama was born in Hawaii did I believe for a moment Obama was born anywhere else. But the evidence that 911 was an Inside Job is unrefutable. Google World Trade Center Building 7. It was brought down by controlled demolition, not by a man inside a cave in Afghanistan.
And to this day nobody questions why not so much as a nut or a bolt was ever found at either the Pentagon or in Shanksville, PA.

In 1994, a Boeing 737, fully loaded crashed in Hopewell Twp., just outside Pittsburgh.
The plane nosedived at over 300 mph directly into the ground. The impact was so violent, it created a crater 20 feet deep and 200 feet wide. The crater was --filled-- with debris, large pieces of metal, and entire sections of the plane, including rows of seats, a tail section, and both engines - not to mention luggage and bodies everywhere.
Yet on 9/11, two 747's just vanished without a trace.
If you believe the 9/11 Commission report, the plane struck with such force in Shanksville, the entire plane became embedded into the earth, right up to and including the tail section.
Well.... if that's really what happened, why didn't they dig it up then?
Now that we have FINALLY retired the birth certificate issue, can we start a new conspiracy theory? I vote for making Donald Trump reveal what's under his comb over!!!! I suspect it hides a hole in his head which will reveal the man has no brains! Whenever Trump opens his mouth, his head disappears! LOL!

I mentioned this in another discussion and I will say it again...I used to interview mothers in the maternity wing of a hospital in Roseville, CA to fill out the info for the newborn's birth certificates. The form was called a Certificate of Live Birth and it was sent off to the state for the birth to be officially recorded under Vital Statistics. It is a legal, legitimate document which, if Donald had the smarts he claims he does, would know that. Of course if the truth is inconvenient, it is often ignored by men like Trump when it gets in the way of their personal gain. I say Dump the Trump!

Try checking out their website, genius. It clearly says the current location is a merger of two very old services. One was for women, was for children. In 1978 (after Obama's birth, in case your math is shaky), the two merged into a single unit...

The Birther issue was never about a birth certificate, it was about keeping up the pretense in their own mind that the black man was not our president. I fully expect the right (or not so right) to claim it is a fake. A full third of the Republicans are into this Birther crap. That is why they can disrespect President Obama, he is not our president.

I want this document inspected by someone that has some legal standing that can determine it's authenticity! Things like this are too easy to Forge! Here, let me pay my bills with Scanned Currency! It was settled a long time ago by the state of Hawaii but that wasn't enough for the nuts as, apparently, some folks still question. Whatever happened to the right to privacy? This was easy enough to verify (and was) before the election without all of the fanfare.

Trump isn't done. Next he will say a certificate of live birth isn't the same as a birth certificate. When he does this, the media needs to hit the "ignore" button. We shouldn't have to listen to any more of his BS.
Trump was the American people's mouth piece... He brought it to light.. For that, I thank him. If this birth certificate is proper, it still doesn't answer my question.. It proves he is a citizen... It also proves he isn't a "Natural Born Citizen". And, that means he was never eligible to be president.

By not natural born, do you mean that perhaps he was conceived in a test tube? I'm not really sure what that statement means and really would appreciate some clarification.

It states Native Born, not natural born (whatever that means). Obama's qualified and now Trump is trying to backpedal. The 14th amendment states "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside." Obhama was born in the US. Period.

Anyone born in the USA is a natural born citizen, if you believe otherwise you have been mislead.

The 14th amendment, the one that teanuts want to repeal, which overruled the "Dred Scott" case that blacks(slaves and descendants of slaves) could not be citizens because they were not born here. Let's think about it rationally. The GOP hates Obama. They would rather see the recession last 4 years than work with Dems to get us out of it because they don't want Obama to look successful (BTW - I don't think the Dems would act any differently. They are all concerned with the next elections more than they are with you or me). Do you think for a minute, that if there were any validity to the claim that Obama wasn't qualified by birth to be president that the all the GOP lawyers in Congress wouldn't be working to remove him from office? It doesn't make sense to believe this.

This man is a fool and liar. On Anderson Cooper last night, he said he was told there was no such document, period. I wonder who it is that told him; what about that investigation he supposedly launched. And people actually think he would be good for the country. That is a scary proposition indeed. On the other hand, if he does run, I hope the media goes over him with a fine tooth comb the way they did Candidate Obama; make him answer as to when he had his epiphany - he was pro-choice, now he is pro-life; he was for universal health care, now he's against it; what was the turning point for him. I can assume he us just like every other "fast-food" mentality, expecting everything to be perfect after Obama's first 12 months in office. I didn't vote for Obama, and as a Former Republican, I can only hope the American people are not ignorant enough to elect another member of the GOP or the Tea Party.
It astounds me how fast a large part of the US voters forgot what George W. did to this country and WHY Obama is having to work so hard to recover from it.
I actually read a DEMOCRAT crediting Obama with the "Stimulus Plan", Obama fixed it, he didn't initiate it, Bush did. Bush pushed the Bail-out of $800 billion prior to leaving office and released the first $350 billion to corporations like AIG, Bank of America, Merryl Lynch and others who took advantage of what they were given (management bonuses, Vegas conferences, etc.). Obama put controls in place and released second half of the money as the "Stimulus".
If Trump can't remember what he was saying as little as 2 years ago, how can we expect him to remember what he did when he had to file for Bankruptcy protection.
