Subscribe to RSSAs Politico's Ben Smith has pointed out, some prominent African Americans aren't exactly fans of Donald Trump’s questions about President Obama’s citizenship.
And African Americans, one of us wrote earlier this week, happen to be one of the few voting blocs with a solid net-positive view of the real estate mogul. According to a February NBC/WSJ poll, 27 percent of black respondents have a favorable opinion of Trump, while 22 percent take a negative view. (Compare that to 26% positive/ 29% negative overall.)
That may be true, but today on the Fred Dicker radio show, Trump boasted of his relationship with the black community in a particularly, well, blunt way.
"I have a great relationship with the blacks,” Trump said. “I've always had a great relationship with the blacks.”
Referring to poll numbers that show enduringly high support for President Barack Obama among black voters, Trump pointed to race as a reason that he – like Hillary Clinton before him– would be unable to capture more African-American support.
“Unfortunately, it seems that, you know, the numbers you cite are very, very frightening numbers," he said.
Trump is expected to make a decision on a presidential run by June.
Per a written statement, "On the May 22nd Season Finale of Celebrity Apprentice, Mr. Trump may announce the time and place of a press conference at which time he will make a statement as to whether or not he will run for President of the United States."

Pure comedy. This crop of GOP candidates makes the WWE look tame in comparison. The story lines, the gimmicks, the props! All they need are some catchy phrases (minus Trump) and a finishing move. Can't wait for the video game! I'm picking the "Disasta from Alaska" over the "Minnesota Maniac". Palin is known to cheat and do whatever it takes to win a match. She'll make an AWESOME bad guy! I did not see any other president do that and we know George W spent plenty on all these wars that are filling the pockets of the rich. Obama is a man and not a boy and the N word is not the only way to be offensive to any person.
I am moved by Mr. Trump's empathy for the black folk. I'm sure that some of his best friends are black. Perhaps that is why his hair is done up in his version of an Afro. I'll bet that, once he gets on the campaign trail in earnest, he'll offer free watermelon and fried chicken to the black folk. I also know that most African-Americans, as well as all kinds of hyphenated or non-hyphenated citizens of this country, are smart enough to see right through this phony loudmouth. His orange skin and weird hair say it all, better than his trite and patronizing statements.
Wow, Donald Trump running for president. This could be funnier than Ross Perot or Lyndon LaRouche. Pat Paulsen isn't even in the running for this award.

The fact that he refers to African-Americans as "the blacks" should tell us all we need to know with his relationship with them. I'm surprised he didn't say "Some of my best friends are black".
Just for my information and education, if you are a black person and not a citizen of the U.S. are you still a black person or negro or person of color or what?

Obama has some failings, as all presidents do. But a choice is only as bad as it's alternative. And given the choice of Obama, Trump or Palin, I'm taking Obama everyday and twice on Sunday.

Trump has had to file bankruptcy at least twice. Yea, he's the one we want in charge of the checkbook. opps, gotta file bankruptcy again. And, how many wives has he had? He's a perfect fit for the hypocrite family values bunch. Apparently Arthur66, your hero's are failures. Sounds about right.

Arthur66--He didn't build a billion dollar business---he inherited from his father (who actually was a self made millionaire) He took over the company from his father in 1971 and by the 90's had to file bankruptcy and had other financial troubles. When you start off at the top it is a lot easier to stay there then to start at the bottom.
I hope he runs, just so we can investigate his finances. Multiple bankruptcies, marriages, and who knows how many, financial scams. We've had enough crooks in the White House.

I am one if the "blacks" mr trump and you have no relation with me. The only relationship you have with african americans is the one you have with your servants and people you employ in your business. I think that word is going to get you no votes from african americans. I hope you do run so people can see who you truely are. An idiot
GOD help us if Mr. Trump runs for office. What we need is a law where our elected officials cannot be millionaires. Most of them don't have a clue to what average americans need to do just to survive. Most of them just vote the special interests way so they can keep their jobs. You know the jobs, were after 2 terms they get an $80,000+ dollar a year pension and free health care for life. It's no wonder why they spend millions to get elected.

i would say that donald trump would be way above any one that the gop could find. i don't like the man but he damn sure knows how to make money unlike the dipsticks we have in congress and the white house at present.

So funny to hear all the "lefties" redicule "the Donald." I am not a Donald fan by any stretch and don't really see him as President...but it is so very entertaining to watch the Obamaites, who own the "lap dog" news media (the only reason Obama got elected anyway) panic. Our country does not have objective journalism any more as the "non-USA citizen" Obama is proof of it.
Let the "blacks" make that decision on election day. And hope that they will too vote Mr. Obama out of office for doing NOTHING to help this country or solve any of its problems.
First, he needs to clean up his lawsuits that potential condo purchasers at Trump Tower Chicago laid on him after he changed the contracts/rules and prices after they were signed and deposit monies put down. Second, If he was "so tight in 'da hood with his homies" when he was pimping out his daughter a few months ago, he should have fixed her up with an distinguish AA gentleman. Third. If the Birthers cared about the Constitution and weren't really just bigoted, they's check Trump's birf certificate....might be be from (former) Yugoslavia. Fourth.
