Subscribe to RSS“Union officials in Wisconsin are calling for thousands of ballots to be immediately impounded and recounted following the revelation that a county clerk’s computer error tipped the state Supreme Court election in conservative Justice David Prosser’s favor,” Roll Call reports.
“Nearly a month after the Wisconsin standoff over union rights ended, some of the fervor from that debate has shifted to recall efforts targeting lawmakers in both parties — Republicans who voted to cut back collective bargaining and Democrats who fled the state to try to stop them,” the AP says. “Now that the law has passed, organizers are focusing on signature-gathering efforts. But of the 16 state senators who were originally targeted, only six appear likely to face an election threatening removal. And before recall elections can be held, supporters need to find candidates to run against the incumbents. Still, voter outrage remains high in many places, helping to stir interest in the recalls.”

GOP/TP are always talking about voter fraud. You talk about GOP/TP voter fraud, conveniently finding 14,000 votes after you've lost and there's just enough GOP/TP votes to avoid an automatic recount, this has got to be the biggest voter fraud ever and nobody seems to be talking about voter fraud. Go figure.
Oh, that because we have a "liberal" media and you know how much they hate conservatives. Oh, wait, that's not the case here, is it. I'm sorry. Must have been brainwashed by all the socialism sweeping the country. Or maybe it's Sharia law.
The clerk in this case, Kathy Nickolaus, has been an aide for Prosser and has worked for Scott Walker. She has had electoral problems in the past. There should indeed be an impartial investigation.
This woman needs to be jailed.
The Wisconsin republicans have played every trick in the book since this union busting in the name of budget concerns started. Even if the votes are legitimate people are very skeptical, and do not trust these legislators. It will fuel the recall efforts, and anybody associated with Walker or this bill we be in for a tough spot for re-election.
I can only hope the truth comes out on this,to me it seems like magic votes appear before your eyes
It defies credulity that this woman, with her previous problems with elections has not been fired. Doesn't matter if you are on the left or right. We have an obligation to make sure that those in charge of the votes cast are held to high standards. If they aren't, they need to find a new job.
I believe she is actually an elected official, so the voters would have to "fire" her. I doubt if there's much chance of that in her county.
So, that would leave an actual criminal indictment...
Seriously, I think Wisconsin officials need to seek some technical help from the FBI computer forensics people. This clerk's computers should be gone over with a fine-toothed comb, given the circumstances surrounding her past.
