Obama called Iraq a bumb war. Now Obama says .....

Gadhafi calls his own people rats - Hussein exterminated whole villages of his people like they were rats with nerve gas.

A massacre would have driven thousands of additional refugees across Libya’s borders, putting enormous strains on the peaceful—yet fragile—transitions in Egypt and Tunisia.

Hussein had invaded Iran, Kuwait, attacked Israel and Saudi Arabia with Scud missiles.... And BTW - Just why would the people of Benghazi flee all the way across Libya, through more Gadhafi forces to go into Egypt? Has Obama ever even looked at a map, or is it hard to put one in a teleprompter?

So there is no national security interests - we are saving the people of Benghazi, east Libyans. Who are these people? Benghazi has sent more foreign fighters per capita to kill Americans in Afghanistan and Iraq than any other. 20% of all foreign fighters have come from this area. This is one of the most radical areas in the world. There will be no democracy. Only Sharia.

Who are the rebels. al-Qaeda supports them. Gadhafi says al-Qaeda is behind them. Many of them say they are affiliated with al-Qaeda and have come home from fighting /killing Americans to fight Gahafi. They even do interviews complete with their pictures in Italian and UK media. Rebel leader Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi says his fighters "are good patriots and good Muslims" and adds "members of al-Qaeda are also good Muslims and are fighting against the invader." Mr. al-Hasidi is a member of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, the second largest foreign fighters force in Iraq - according West Points Counter Terrorism Center.

I thought Obama said he was hunting down al-Qaeda - instead these are the people we are protecting and flying air support missions for? BTW - Idriss Deby Itno, Chad's president, said al-Qaeda has pillaged military arsenals, including surface-to-air missiles which they are smuggling out. Wonder where those things are headed?

There also reports that the rebels and al-Qaeda have sold 2,000 mustard gas artillery shells and 1,200 nerve gas artillery shells to Iran. They are supposedly being transferred by Iranian Guard and Hezbollah guys out of the country to Lebanon. Who knows, but it certainly makes perfect sense. I also hope Obama lied about boots on the ground - we need a few O.D.A. teams to stop that! Who knows with Obama.

Our friends, (or partners if we have a friend left)? The UK has a squadron of Typhoons. They are worried about replacing it when their rotation is up in a few weeks. They are talking about suspending training so they can draft the instructors into combat duty. They don't have another 18 pilots? The UK has one air craft carrier, the Ark Royal. It is decommissioned and up for auction. (I wonder if the British liberals mock their military spending now?)

The French have an aircraft carrier - one. That's about it. The Saudi have the second best air force in the Mideast - where are they? (Qatar supposedly sent 4 old planes.) Where is the Arab League? All of those rich sheiks going to pony up? Right. So we borrow money to buy their fuel to fight their war? That's pretty dumb. So who is going to carry the weight for the long haul?

How's the war going? Gadhafi pulled his armor back to keep it from being blown up. The rebs shot the guns in the air for the cameras and drove their pick-ups to the next photo op. REBEL SUCCESS! Gadhafi puts his guys in pick-ups and guess what - flying along at 575 MPH at the hard deck is pretty hard to pick out which white Toyota to shoot. Gadhafi takes everything back. Laughable - outsmarted by putting guys in pick-ups. Hope Obama made a note.

Libya is tribal. As Mixed says - what does Obama do when the innocent civians of east Libya start killing the innocent civilians of west Libya? Who does Obama bomb then? Do they get the humanitarianism?

And all of this for no national interest, without a plausible plan, without knowing who we are helping, understanding of the risks, the limitations of our partners, without even having a plan, without an end game........ simply a fantastically stupid war.

Obama turns our military into a humanitarian rescue force when we in TWO wars already - he subordinates our military to the rich sheiks of the Arab League, the unelected bodies and despots of the UN - WITHOUT GOING TO CONGRESS OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE all while ignoring Iran and Syria, the true threats for years and years and the biggest threat to tomorrow.

If libya and other middle east sovereign countries are still an issue at the time of the nov 2012 elections, obama will be in deep trouble. I think what you are seeing Bev is not so much hate as fear. Repubs fear so much in the world today, change around the world and change in their own country. I don't believe they are racists, hating Pres. Obama because he is a different race than most of them; but I do believe they fear having their lives in the hands of that which they do not understand and is unfamiliar.

Remember, Pres. Obama received more votes than any other candidate in history. That says tons about how far we've come. But never forget that such change will inevitably cause a certain amount of fear in some of those who are used to things being a certain way. That's just the nature of the human beast, despite how we may want things to be.

I voted for Pres. Obama (despite how it may seem sometimes when I whine about this or that, I am afterall a leftwing loon) and I do not regret it. If the repubs nominate one of their crazies, I may even vote for him again. Afterall, we are recovering quicker this time than we did during the Reagan recession, which speaks volumes. Don't think for a minute this means I'm getting all cuddly for Pres. How can that be? Because the "contributions" consist of money that employees chose to take as deferred wages – as pensions when they retire – rather than take immediately in cash.

The fact is that all of the money going into these plans belongs to the workers because it is part of the compensation of the state workers. The fact is that the state workers negotiate their total compensation, which they then divvy up between cash wages, paid vacations, health insurance and, yes, pensions. Since the Wisconsin government workers collectively bargained for their compensation, all of the compensation they have bargained for is part of their pay and thus only the workers contribute to the pension plan. This is an indisputable fact.
