The Donald was at it again, offering a full-throated defense of birtherism and birthers this morning on MSNBC’s The Daily Rundown with Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie.
Asked if he wants to be taken seriously, why he continues to defend the false conspiracy theory that President Obama was not born in the United States, Donald Trump said, “Well, I do think it’s a serious issue. ... I am embracing the issue. I’m proud of the issue.” He claimed it is “not that much of a conspiracy… it’s really not.”
Trump, who says he's considering a run as a Republican for president in 2012, went further, chastising the media for using the term “birthers,” calling it “derogatory” to lots of “intelligent” people.
He said if it were true that the president weren’t born in the United States it would be the “greatest scam in the history of this country” and that there’s “certainly a chance” he’s not born in the U.S. He claimed Obama “could have come in after birth and could have been registered for purposes of hospitalization” or even “welfare.” “Excuse me,” he said, “I’ve grown up watching some of the great thieves of the world… this is peanuts compared to what these people do.”
He deadpanned later: “We all agree he was born.”
NBC’s Pete Williams reported on the birth announcement that appeared in the Honolulu Advertiser in 1961. Trump dismissed that, claiming the notice was “three days later. … Lots of things could happen.”
He added that “no nurses, no doctors, nobody came forward.” And he said that about 50 percent of Republicans “think he wasn’t born in the country” – and they’re “intelligent” people.
He even went so far as to almost question if Chuck Todd’s children were born in the United States after Todd said that he has “certificates of live birth” from DC. He contended that Todd could go down to the hospital where they were born and get authorization to get a more official “birth certificate” from the Department of Health -- provided they were born in the U.S., “which I assume they were,” Trump said.
Trump was also asked if he’s prepared for the financial scrutiny that would come with running for president. Official candidates for president are required to file financial disclosure forms. Asked, in particular, about his companies that have filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Trump became defensive.
“I never went bankrupt,” Trump said, trying to draw a distinction between personal bankruptcy and putting a company into Chapter 11. “Many of the biggest people in this country, many times have filed Chapter 11s on various companies in order to reduce debts.” He added, “I’ve done an unbelievable job” and used the laws of the country to help his companies.
Asked then if the United States should file for bankruptcy, Trump said no. “I wouldn’t recommend that,” he said, because the United States has more leverage.
On Libya, Trump said he didn’t “know enough” about the rebels to arm them.
On his decision to run for president, he said, “I will make a decision sometime prior to June.
“We’ll all have a lot of fun together.”

In other words, they have filed to evade paying their debts. This is something rich people do to get out of paying for their mistakes. They screw others so they can stay rich. Nothing new.

Have you all seen Reagan, Bush (either), or Clinton's birth certificate? Did you question their citizenship? I don't recall ever hearing of any controversy about any other president. Why is that?

Second and short.......Obama, while a handsome articulate and on the surface a likable guy is having his puppet strings directed by the likes of Mr. Soros.......NO DEBATE HERE.......However, as I look back on the last two years I have a very difficult time finding ONE successful policy/program Mr. Obama has initiated.........NOT ONE..........Please inform me where I have gone wrong here and I will listen........He may well be reelected but for discussion sake it appears to me that event will be accomplished by sidewalk-no-political-knowledge folks who simply are overwhelmed with his good looks and articulate manner..........He seems to me to be a pretender, a talker from sound boards which are prepared by those shadow leaders.............
As to Mr. Trump.......He appears to be direct in his thinking, direct in his comments, never "iffy", never retreating, full of delight to make things right..........
At this time in our history when we continue to adhere to liberal requirement to allow open borders, pussy-foot around world events, indecisiveness and fall apart when confronted by the confidence of North Korea, Iran, Libia, Veneuela, and a few lesser countries like Nicaragua, especially of the radical Muslim mode, we must strongly consider a leader who can deal with these "street fighter" types.............Our Obama simply cannot stand with these guys..............

Poor Chuck and Savanaah... I'm sure they once had dreams of being real, investigative journalists. Too bad that somewhere along the line they lost the dream, and became puppets. Relying on tainted Chicago propaganda sites like Annnenberg's "Fact Check", rather than doing their OWN research and investigation, and not understanding the difference between a generic "certificate of live birth" and a real long form birth certificate, which has the doctor's signature, hospital, footprint etc.
Oh well... as long as Chuck and Todd know the White House soup of the day, and get a nice, personally-signed Christmas Card from the Obama's I guess that makes up for it all?
BTW, I wonder if Chuck and Savannah get real-time talking point from the White House on their iPhones, like Mika does?

Obama is spending a lot of money to hide something. He was noted as a female Muslim on his
birth certificate in Hawaii, just days after his birth in Nairobi. Americans have been duped by

You are all idiots. Anyone born of parents that are American citizen is an American citizen no matter where in the world he/she are born...period. You do not have to be born in this country, however anyone born in this country is a citizen regardless of where their parents are born. Look it up in the constitution. If fact I believe you only need one parent to be a US citizen if you are born overseas. It only shows how stupid this man is, and where did he get the figure that 20 percent of the rebels in Libya are Al Qaeda. No one called him on this, he is much more dangerous than Palin.

I'm sure Obama was born in America but like any good American I'd like him to produce his birth certificate to make doubters look foolish. Why did he spend a million dollars to seal his records? My Columbia U. doctorate transcript is available to anyone who asks but I can't see our Pres. records. We were told he was brilliant but he wasn't first in his class or even second. The birthers don't bother to realize that any candidate for POTUS is completely investigated the FBI, CIA, NSA and a myriad other security agencies before they are ever allowed to even peek at the top secret information that is to be made accessible. I worked in the Vital Statistics office. I've actually created new birth record entries, and issued several thousand birth certificates to qualified individuals.
The complete .. lack .. of understanding of how birth certificates are created, or issued, by Mr. Trump .. is disappointing, to say the least. Its downright scary, if you think about it. If he's this willing to pursue an issue that he hasn't educated himself on, and he wants to be president .. in charge of much more critical agencies than Vital Statistics .. well, lets say I won't readily vote for a man who so readily flaunts his ignorance.
No, Mr. Trump, you do not just "go to the hospital and ask them to make you a birth certificate". That's not how it works, at all. These records are incredibly confidential life-long certifications of self-identification. This is not a lackadaisical, cavalier process.
Not only that -- he said that he told his people "to go get it". If members of your staff could just "go get" your birth certificate for you, then anybody could go pick up anybody else's birth certificate and have their personal information. Isn't it obvious in this world of identity theft why (1) not just anybody can go get your birth certificate for you and (2) so many states have moved to the form containing only the most basic information necessary to confirm citizenship. If somebody gets ahold of a birth certificate from a state that provides all of the detailed information regarding your birth, imagine what a criminal could do with that.
Oh...and birthers...every single one of you can check your birth certificates. You will find that not one of them lists your "religion". Donald Trump knows this (or maybe he really is the narcissitic moron that I believe he might be) and yet posits that maybe the President's birth certificate states that he's a Muslim and that's why he doesn't want to show it. Give it a rest, Donald. You're not helping your image (not that you had a great one to begin with).

Here is a little something else for you. Obama should ALREADY be in possesion of a birth certificate. He is the frigging President of the United States. Whats confidential about a birth certificate? They take your fingerprint even though they already have your birth certificate. So, where is the confidentiality? I bet Obama didn't know how to get a birth certificate made...he probably knows now as I'm sure he is trying to find out how to get one made.

I didn't have my birth certificate until I had to prove my citizenship for a federal job application. I got it from the Health Department office in my home town. It looks exactly like the one President Obama has already provided. Get over your ludicrous conspiracy theories.
Trump For President ? How ? last time I checked you have to serve a term as a State governor or a term as a U.S. congressman to run. And whats this about " Birthers" isn't that a derogatory term gay people use to insult straight people ?
