Biden hires another journo as new communications director

Vice President Joe Biden has hired another veteran journalist as his new communications director.

Biden's office announced today that Washington Post congressional correspondent Shailagh Murray will step into the post vacated by former Time D.C. bureau chief Jay Carney, who was tapped earlier this year to be the next White House Press Secretary.

Before becoming a Capitol Hill correspondent for the Post in 2005, Murray covered Congress and politics at the Wall Street Journal.

Yes and no. When you really really need to make sure the WH message is properly delivered, you need to make sure you have a good liaison to tell the editors what to write at the WP. After all, what would true journalism be without someone telling them what to write? I can't imagine living in a world that required journalists report w/o BIAS based solely in facts. I guess everyone has a dream....and when I say dream, I mean agenda. ;)

Hey, wasn't Tony Snow a journalist before he became Bush's press secretary? Yah, I think so.

Amy...

If the article were entitled, "Bush hired another journalist as new communications director" then it would be a valid point. Or... If Bush were still in office, it would be a valid point.

Let me guess...

Since Bush accounted for the largest expansion of the federal government up to the end of his presidency, it's okay for Obama to take it even farther, right? Oh wait...I have a better one. Since Bush over spent and started us down the path of financial insolvency, it's okay for Obama to drive us off the cliff, right?

So any wrong committed by a previous President is okay as long as someone else did it first? What kind of retarded logic is that?

"What kind of retarded logic is that?"

These are liberals, logic has nothing to do with anything they say.. it is all about "feelings".

"Journalist - Democratic Operative."

Tony Snow - journalist - former Press Secretary - not a Democratic Operative.

Point made.

It's so obvious. I mean, just look at guys like Douchy, Killmeade, Medved, Williams, O'Reily, Hannity, Gretta Van Susteren, Chris Wallace, Cal Thomas, Dick Morris, George Will, Lou Dobbs...... need I go on?

What's remarkable is it took dbo only about three hours to think up a response.

Which begs the question - Who helped you Buzz?

So there are no journalists at FOX News, the Wall Street Journal or NewsMax? Fair enough...since I wouldn't consider the overwhelming majority of what they do "journalism".

Sorry it took so long, Smiff, but us NON-PAID posters have to get up and go do other things from time to time. But as long as I'm back, I would like to hear your opinion of the people I mentioned, and how deepley they are integrated into the operations of the Democratic party. OK- GO....

Don't take it all so seriously Buzzy, you shouldn't be so angry on a Friday. And isn't this the day you Libs all get sloshed? Looks like you started early. Plus we all just figured it took so much time because the Tree House Gang was in executive session coming up with new acronyms. Now tee-up that MD20-20 of yours Buzzers, OK- GO ....

Still avoiding the question, huh?

OK, I'll take off my 'counselor Spanky' hat, and drop all the tough questions. Guess I'll saunter off to the secret treehouse now. Maybe on the way, I can cabbage a half-finished jug of Thunderbird off some homeless guy....

79% of all journalists are registered democrats. Did anyone expect him to pick a republican?

Funny how lefty journalists can get their gander up about "revolving door" issues, except when the revolving door involves lefty journalists...

I don't understand why it's wrong to mention the name of the former President or anything that happened in the previous administraion.

Seems to me that choosing a journalist is a smart move regardless of the party occupying the White House. Who better to understand how the press works. Tony Snow, rest in peace, was a journalist and he was a very good Press Secretary for former President Bush.

What rock were you under during 2001-2008? Everything that came out of W's mouth was a lie - only made smaller by the fact that Cheney's lips also moved.

    Budget-busting station named for Biden

    ‘Sheriff’ lobbied for Amtrak funding

Maybe his new communications director can explain this one! I love this quote the best!!

Renaming the station is apparently legal — and is fitting in this case, said Leslie Paige, spokeswoman for Citizens Against Government Waste.

“It’s an absolutely perfect monument to a guy whose entire history has been overspending and overpromising,” she said. “It would make sense [Mr. Biden‘s] name would be slapped on a bloated, over-budget train station in Wilmington.”

$5.7 million over budget. Are you surprised??!! LOL!

It's hard to take the likes of you serious. You are worried about a "Budget Busting" station but had no problems with a budget busting, unfunded war. At least the station will benefit someoen in the U.S. and not take a child to their death as does the Iraq war.

"Biden hires another journo as new communications director." Not surprising that VP Biden hired a journalist from the left wing Washington Post to do his public relations. The Washington Post regularly does public relations for left wing politicians. The Washington Post is kind of like the bullpen for the left. After the "journalists" warm up pretending to be objective, they get called in to pitch.
