Branstad breaks down the '12 GOP field

The Des Moines Register gets Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad (R), while in D.C. for the National Governors Association meeting, to break down the potential GOP presidential field.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, 2008 caucus winner: “I’m not even sure he’s going to run. But if he does, I think he’s obviously the favorite.”

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty: A “fine governor” and Iowa neighbor “going about it in the right way. He’s putting an organization together.”

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour: “I go way back with him. Don’t underestimate Haley.”

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels: “The first governor that really took the fiscal bull by the horns.”

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum: “There are a lot of social conservatives in Iowa.”

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney: “He’s not going to spend as much money or as much organization in Iowa” as he did in 2008.

*** UPDATE *** Branstad made these remarks to PBS. Apologies to our friends there.

"Broken down" now that's funny. There's no "rock stars" in that bunch. In fact they are as dull as a box of rocks. But...where's Sarah?

I am from Iowa and please keep them all out of the state. I don't even want to think about all the BS campaign ads that are going to be starting (WAY TOO SOON).

wonder if the "littering laws" apply to presidential canidates??

If this is the 'cream of the crop' from the right, it will be an Obama landslide in 2012!

Does anyone really believe independents will vote for these whack jobs?

And a question for you Feisty that requires an intelligent response: Who from the Democratic side will oppose Obama and why? Will we see the tag-team of Hillary and Billy Bob?

And where are the jobs Obama promised during his campaign and first two years in office?

The Stale Pale Male Crowd rides again! Those guys are an embarrassment to the rest of us pale males. If that's all they got then Obama is a shoe-in. Well if the GOTP nominates any of those clowns listed above they will have no chance of retaking the senate either.

Ol' Terry's out on a limb there. let me see if I can do the same with the prediciton of next week's NASCAR race in Nevada:

Gordon- has a fast car, could win.

Stewart- A good driver, could win.

Newbie Bayne- has talent, could win.

Martin- lots of years on the circuits, could win.

What's-his-name, good pit crew, could win.

What's-his-name's buddy, Knows What's-his-name, could win.

Damn, Governor B- I'm nearly as good at this as you are!

Correct me if I am wrong, but back in early 2010, weren't you moonbats similarly cackling about the chances of the Republicans taking the House, and the Republicans sweeping into Governorships?

And mocking the chances of many Republican candidates, who ended up winning?

Let me take you down memory lane, oh so many months ago......November 2010: Obama and the Democrats took an historic shellacking!

Obviously you havent learned your lesson. You are saying, "thank you, may I have another?"

    Keep cackling...

I was born and raised in Minnesota and I can tell you Tim Pawlenty drove our financial bus into the ditch. Scarry what he would do as our nation's leader. He doesn't have a clue!!!
