For once I agree with Drive By. Of course the rating are up. First we had the Bush Tax Rates extended, and now Obama just canned the global warming czar. He gets the need for lower taxes, and recogninzes Cap and Trade is a lost cause. Tonight we get the call for belt tightening. Solid.

Besides, approval ratings now are neat and all, but let's see how it's going come April, when the Debt Ceiling gets hit and gas prices are at $4.00. He rolls on the debt, does something about gas prices, and does not bail out the states, then he's alright, even with me.

They don't even realize that by compromising to extend those tax cuts for two years, Pres Obama and democrats ate the GOPTPers for lunch--Lindsay Graham said so. Too bad, so sad. I wouldn't be touting Reagan all that much, he added 189% to the national debt, cut taxes then raised them one year later and every year after that except election years, and then spent even more.

Ahhh, the Reagan years wasn't he the greatest! Sleeping on the job, Ollie North, Al Haig, massive defense spending, Union bashing, liberal bashing, poor people bashing, putting Marines in harms way but not letting them defend themselves unless one of them was killed and let us not forget increasing the the national debt to four times his predecessors. Oh for the glory days of the GOP.

Again Jody, we are seeing great success on two issues very important to me. 1. Bush Tax rates for the forseeable future; and two our energy costs will not now "necessarily skyrocket." Browner, the wicked witch of unicorns and fairy dust (that's "clean" energy to the greenies) is dead.

And it's why she's dead that really brings the joy. Obama now understands that there is no way that crap is going to fly. Now we just need to wait until mid spring. That's when gas prices always spike. That'll be when our new centrist president will probably have to call for more drilling. He'll have to (but of course protest that's there is nothing else he can do), cause after all the poor folk can't afford $4.00 a gallon. Hell even I will have to consider voting for the guy if he really does something about energy - like 20 new nuke plants and expansive domestic drilling.

And I think the market will force his hand, just like it did on taxes.
