Subscribe to RSSBloomberg News: "President Barack Obama is considering naming William Daley, a JPMorgan Chase & Co. executive and former U.S. Commerce secretary, to a high-level administration post, possibly White House chief of staff, people familiar with the matter said. Such a move, which is still under discussion, would bring a Washington veteran -- and someone with strong business ties -- into the administration as Obama sets out an agenda for the second half of his term while dealing with a Republican majority in the House of Representatives."
More: "Daley, 62, has deep ties in Obama’s political base. The youngest of seven children of longtime Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley, he is part of the most powerful political dynasty in Illinois. He was also a political mentor to Rahm Emanuel." Daley was an economic adviser to the Obama 2008 campaign and co-chaired the transition.
"Liberal groups say they are increasingly worried that President Obama will strike a deal with Republicans on Social Security in exchange for a 'yes' vote on increasing the nation's debt ceiling," The Hill writes. (Maybe they should be a little more worried about what House Republicans are trying to do, just sayin'….)

Please don't use the lead "the Chicago way?" It just feeds into the Hannity insanity that he has been using for 2 years to describe Rahm. Don't forget Bill Daley did a pretty good job getting Gore's '00 campaign back on track. Bill doesn't work behind the scenes with his brother the mayor. If he had, then Chicago's streets would already be paved in Gold(man Sachs). The chief of staff position is not for an idealogue, it's for an consumate organizer to keep O on message and to find out what's happening on the Hill before the Congress even knows it.

Pius Emeka Nebo, Pius, I'm not like you. I'm all over the media reading different opinions, criticizing and making comments. I thought you Dems and Libs don't listen to 'Faux News.' See, you can't do without the traditional message of Conservative talk show or their opinions. I'm a Conservative. I can't be a Dem or a Progressive because the Democratic Party evolved from the American Communist Party. And you know what that gives. Communists have left their mark in the blood drenched soils of Russia, China and other countries in trying to establish their Nirvana. It has all failed. If the Democratic Party did not have this root and philosophy, of course I could changed parties. Now, you are trying to implement end of life situations for Americans and this is reminiscent of the Nazis and the Communists. Euthanasia is what I call it. We Conservatives will either have to radically modify it, throw it our or repeal it. We have to call it Tea Party Health Care.
