Subscribe to RSSSarah Palin (R) remains a divisive figure. The latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll that measured her favorability ratings showed the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice-presidential nominee about as polarizing as Nancy Pelosi.
A CNN poll out yesterday showed her numbers dropping among Republicans. One reason: Republicans are trying to figure out who can win, and her high negatives, particularly among independents, don't help. Why do you think it's happening, and what does it mean for the 2012 Republican field?

That is because you guys bankrupted our country before Obama got here. YOu of all people should be glad we are not all in soup lines. How was that failure for everyone supposed to work. Most people that have never done without do not know what failure or being broke feels like. It is not fun, it is not easy, and it does not change overnight. All of you need to ask yourselves if the financial and car industries had failed where would the jobs and unemployment be now? Use your brains! Our deficit would be down maybe since it has gone down some anyway but what would people going without food and heat and losing their homes have helped anything? Made them want to work? To get even less jobs because of the failures you wanted. Some of you need to sit down and think the situation through and think of what you would have done, what result that would have had on the whole country and where we would be today. I don't think we would have just had the best holiday spending ever would we. I just wish some would sit down and think things through and be appreciative of what we do have now. Thanks to our president and what he has been trying to do.

"If you ran for president" Try reading those words real carefully ! It doesn't say When you run for president, it says "IF". I would think even a Lib could figure that out on their own. And in the other statement you site Sara using another big word for Lib's as she says "Thinking".

As an Independent, I can tell you the reason you hear screams of anguish is simply because her voice could peel paint off a wall. What's really funny is watching Palin look older and less attractive each day. She's starting to look like a Miami cougar. Time - the avenger.

I stand a better chance of being President than Sarah "the media whore" Palin. Her speeches are full of lies and nonsense, but I guess you'd expect that from someone who had to attend several different colleges just to get a B.A. degree. There isn't a single Republican out there who is remotely capable of doing the job. As for Mitt Romney, who's going to vote for someone with the name Mitt? He's quickly becoming the Harold Stassen of presidential races.
The economy is improving, our troops overseas will be reduced substantially and Obama will be re-elected, much to the disappointment of Faux News, and Limbaugh/Ingram and the other right wing radio lunatics.
Her supporters really amuse me in a couple of aspects, and one I can understand. First, she never actually finished her first (and only) term as a state governor. Second, besides being the mouthpiece for the Tea Party, she hasn't really done much else. Third, and understandably, she's a woman - she's pretty, attractive, fairly intelligent and well spoken, and a mother.
I hope she runs and is elected President in 2012, the American public will really understand they didn't have it nearly so bad for the previous few administrations.
Palin knows she won't ever be POTUS. She's just in it to make money. I predict the GOP will wait awhile and then roll in Jeb Bush. They'll dupe the American people under the prose of the "bring back the good 'old days", when W was president. Don't believe it? They already did it with Reagan. Virtually the entire generation born after Reagan was prez has been duped into thinking he was one of the greatest POTUS of all-time. Personally, I think he was one the greatest POS of all-time.

From looking at the list above, I see very few on it for whom I would cast a ballot for without serious reservations.

I still remember that Alfred E. Neuman look on W's face when his aides told him of the September 11 attacks... and the dweeb kept reading to the kindergarten class instead of politely excusing himself and being a commander in chief. The next day, standing in the rubble of the Word Trade Center with firemen, he proclaimed we'd get these people "who knocked these buildings down"... without so much as a mention of the thousands of PEOPLE who lost their lives in those buildings and the first-responders who lost their lives trying to save them.
Yes, we need to go back to more of what put the economy where it is now, where American corporations are busy hiring people... overseas, and hundreds of thousands of families have lost their homes and jobs.

Shore you sure know how to set the stage for what is real and what is fictious garbage. People in todays climate must have been on drugs during the times you speak of because they seem to have forgotten the GOOD OLE BAD DAYS. They seem to have forgotten what got us to this position in the first place and that Obama is the creator of this upheaval. Also if I can recall while people are talking about his failure is the failure of those that where suppose to be a part of this change. The democratic engine ran and hid in trenches leaving Obama to face opposition alone. I haven't met or heard of one general who has won a war without his army behind him. Each time Obama attempted to accomplish what he was voted into office to do he was faced with the Republicans and very few Democrats protecting his back. I do believe yes WE CAN has been dissolved by to many people and they are ignorantly replaced it with HE SHOULD HAVE ALL ALONE DEFEATED. I for one am still in his corner and rooting him on. Those that hate the health care please don't take the part for your children under 26 or any other portion that benefits you.
I'm pretty new here and will leave my comments to what I know as fact. I've worked in the Chemical Industry for the last 32 years. We receive a bonus that reflects the success of the Company for the fiscal year and this year I received the largest bonus sinceI have been here. The bonus attached to my paycheck was so large that it threw me into a tax bracket that allowed Uncle Sam to take my entire regular and overtime pay and left me with just the bonus. The Companies CEO prclaimed the best year they have ever experienced but will not be hiring in the new year due to the uncertainity they are facing. No, what has happened is they found by working us continously (saving on benefits) they no longer need the additional mules to ride. The economic upheaval is being driven by these large Corporations who greedily hold onto their profits. Yes my bonus was good for me but it only represented .01% of the entire bonus package being handed out. You know who got the mega bucks. You say Obama failed in righting the unemployment but I say the Corporations are holding the money as hostage for their own political games. Oh by the way my company built their largest Plant in China this year. Go figure.
I apolocize for the first thread I posted with it's many mistakes. Hit hte button by accident prior to reading and checking and we know how critical others are to mistakes.
We all look at an accident, slowing down to see what major catastrophe has occurred. We stay tuned to see the news channel advertising a horrific news story at 5 PM. We follow things that are exploding, imploding or downright mushrooming to count the casualties. Sarah Palin seems to have assimilated all those attractions into one persona. We cover our eyes and peek through them to see if it is over yet half hoping it isn't and half praying for the end. We jam the movie shows to see Monsters destroy innocent dumb victims who do not know how to get out of the way, splattered into bloody blobs of writhing flesh. We crave the adrenaline rush it causes and we thrive on it. Therefore, we watch Mrs. Palin as she chews her way to the top ripping the truth and the fundamentals of our beliefs. So while we wish her to go away we hold fast to her also as proof that we are tolerant even to the intolerable. We have ourselves become total contradictions. We do not want dullness in politics; we need fire and storms, hail and thunder. I love the game she is playing with those on both sides of the fence and I hope she lasts to the final scene where she is finally defeated in one huge gigantic blast of her own making. Believe me she will be her own demise. Anyone for popcorn?
If Palin decides to run AND, by some fluke OR a MIRACLE, wins the GOTP's Nomination, the problem WON'T just be how many states will turn blue, BUT RATHER HOW MANY SHADES OF BLUE WE WILL HAVE TO APPLY TO THE MAP!!!!!
This definitely fits with the new stats that she isn't popular in her own state. Thats a biggie for winning a presidential election.
Companies will be barred from instituting caps on coverage when your costs for treatments goes up due to sickness, you can now get insurance with out caps on coverage at "Wise Health Insurance" search them online.
The first new rule says you HAVE to have insurance. Both my husband and I have pre-existing conditions, and although the new bill says we can't be denied coverage because of it. So far, the cheapest health insurance we've been able to find is called "Wise Health Insurance" search for it online if you are pre-existing conditions.
that's the way it is right now and has been. Insurance companies would take you with a pre existing condition unless you pay exorbinate amounts of money. in 2014, that will change when all companies will have to except preconditions, which will allow for you to shop. We in Pa, have to have car insurance if we drive. people with terrible history of driving can still shop for insurance from companies that sell insurance in the State.
Unfortunately, that is going to significantly drive up the rates until 2014 when the pool expands to the point where theoretically, rates should at least stabilize. I just wish the health care bill would have included interstate commerce of health insurance and some level of tort reform. Then again, that would have required the republicans to actually compromise on something.
Can't you picture an Insurance company CEO and CFO meeting to discuss the new "pre-existing condition" rules imposed on them and their company??? Finally the CEO turns to his actuarial scientists....his bean counters, and asks......OK, under these new rules, what do we have to charge in premiums to still make a profit???
