Who do you think will be the next RNC chair?

This morning, I was on with MSNBC's Norah O'Donnell on The Daily Rundown, and we talked about the RNC Chair race. What do you think are Michael Steele's chances, and who do you think will be the next chairman? Take our poll at right.

Spongebob Squarepants.

He's not white, he's 'in' with the young people, He has hight moral values and he's not a turnip, like Steele was.

Good afternoon Drive-by: I trust you had a Merry Christmas.

Who's going to be the next GOP chair? It really doesn't matter. The Tea Party is in control of the Republican Party. The new chair will have to get the approval of Kyl, Vitter, Limbaugh, Beck, Bachmann...and the list goes on.

Trust me dude having "high moral values" would be an instant dis-qualifier for this post.

Someone on one of the posts last week had it pegged with the tea-party.

There was a time prior to the 08 elecitons when Republicans wouldn't even put the 'R' behind their names in their ads. NO one wanted to be associated with them. Then, some genius strategist/markter realized all they have to do was pull a re-branding, and - Viola! The Tea Party was born. Most of the old line Repubs weren't sharp enough to recognize the switcheroo. And now, they're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

And, I'm sure they are just as incapable of governing as they were in the first place, except to continue to pander to the wealthy (who financed the switcheroo in the first plase, of course). Time will root them out, but let's hope it's not too late when it does.

And, Spongebob speaks English rather than republican-ese.

That's right Drive-by, even Steele tried to pass himself off as a democrat. They rebranded themselves as the Tea Party which is nothing more than a name change--the modern day GOP is mostly far right ideology and have been since Club for Growth and others started going after moderate and applying a "purity test". Their idea of change is simply to change the name.

I honestly have no idea who will be the next GOP Chair, but I have to say that we had a lot of fun here while Steele ran things (if in fact he's done). Very amusing stuff as I look back.

Right from the get-go as a matter of fact. lol

Why is msnbc obsessed with the RNC chairman, since it's largely a fundraising function? Based on the recent election results, I'd say Steele did a pretty good job.

I don't recall any such obsession with who's going to be the DNC chairman, but of course, who really cares?

Apparently Chief Justice Roberts has already filled that position.

Michael Steele is not going any where. They need him to do outreach and perpetrate their lie of the big tent. Or should I say the big circus?

Well, Steele did a good job with the TP. Did you see where Alvine Greene is running again for a House seat.

Happy Holidays, everyone! Rainy and chilly here in South Texas today...but the rain is welcome and the holidays have been wonderful!

The Repub tried the 'black' guy thing, Mr. Steele. Now they want to blame him for his lack of money raising skills.....The Repubs don't even need an RNC, they have the Chamber of Commerce, Big Insurance, Big Oil, and the Supreme Court...what else do they want or need!

As usual, blame the 'black guy'! Gotta' love it!

If they were smart, they'd keep Steele. Give him a tongue lashing, scare him out of almost losing the job, and let him keep his position. He was head of the RNC when the GOP had one of the biggest victories of this century, and also tell Duncan to give back all the "Big" donors he took with him to American Crossroads. It's going to completely void any chance the GOP is going to have of pulling any African American votes when they look at the GOP and see that a black guy pulled off something not done in almost a century, and he's still fired. Let's be honest, if Steele had raised $350m and had these victories, the Roves, Gillespies, Norcross, and the Barbour Boys would still have a problem with him. It's about getting the big contracts for the RNC convention, and being able to make all the media buys, direct mailers etc.... I can't believe a single reporter has not addressed this issue yet. The committee people are going to drink Barbour's Kool aid, and elect a guy that said Obama should be executed, was brought up in a vote caging scandal in Wisconsin, and is tied to Haley Barbour the governor of Mississippi and his little lapdog Henry. That should go over well with the moderate and African American community. The GOP is completely clueless. If you think the Dems aren't going to use this the firing of Steele to ramp up the African American community, you've lost your mind. They are going to point to the GOP and say see, see, they even got rid of a black man who did an amazing job, what do you think they are going to do for you. I thought we were trying to win the 2012 election, I guess we just want to make sure the GOP elites make as much money as possible in the next election cycle.

It's pretty hard to be a "White Male Only Thing" when your top dog is a "Freakin' Orange," who drinks way

too much, chain smokes and cries (like a woman) at the drop of a hat (after having too much to

drink). BTW...I have a feeling that his concern for the future of children is not the real reason he can't go

near schools! Boo Hoo...sorry, I'm just worried about the future of our Millionaires & Billionaires (Sob).
