So he goes now to Lisbon. The good news is that it will only be half bad. NATO seems to have accepted his ineptitude and the fact that he lost all chance when he announced the pull out date. Seems they are going to do the liberal "transition" bit (transition to Taliban won) and talk about turning security over to the Afghans in 2014. Hopefully, the Afghans can be trained to operate a roll of toilet paper by then. And if the Afghans can't provide security, Iran is willing to take over security. Maybe it will give rise to a new party, or at least a new branch to the Tea Party. The Tea Party could have their old guys with their "Don't Tread On Me" flags and the new guys could have their "Don't Touch My Junk" flags. Actually alot of the old Tea Partiers could recruit new new members - "Don't Touch My Tea Bag" flags. Home Depot was launched in response to a recession. None of that kind of activity is happening now.

Is money tight? It sure is. The private equity companies that are the typical risk takers in backing start ups are no longer lending- they have no idea what capital gains taxes will look like next year.
