Sarah:
What more proof do you need that God wants you to run for President in 2012. Run Sarah run!
Yes, Sarah! Run, Sarah, run! Run...
...into a wall!
...off a cliff!
...over a pier!
...down a Sarlaac pit!
...through the Guardian of Forever!
She might just spend the the next two years fighting with Lisa Murkowski, or her brother in-law(got him fired unethically), or her son in-law, or her mother-in-law (campaigned against in Juno) or some other low-minded unpresidential (maye be just start with undignified) fight she tends to get bogged down in.
As much as I wish she would run... it's never gonna happen...
The good old white boy's club will see to that...
The best part will be when she finally realizes she was used & tossed away like a dirty Kleenex!
The trend in wishful thinking rages on unabated.
I really can't figure it out. Why does the 'lame street' media keep shoving this Wasilla Village Idiots' every move on us.
She is benefitting financially from all the free coverage! ...the 'main street' Repubs are afraid of her!
What wishful thinking? Madison is on board. Better get on the Palin train before it leaves the station!
What's Joe the Plumber doing these days? Palin/Plumber 2012!
She would be taking a huge cut in pay to run for prez. Also too, she would be expected to make some sense and answer some questions.
so... what has this shown us... that she's not an octopus?
Ok, I can get on board with that one. ;)
Sooo... How did Obama's endorsement do?
Umm, it is remiss to NOT mention those candidates she supported who didn't win their primaries, no? She had one in Kansas, and the opponent is now on his way to DC.
If you are a Repub and you can't win the hearts and minds of Kansans; well, I would argue you're not quite ready for primetime.
For those of you keeping score, Kansas is now officially RED - through and through. Sorry, America, no independent thinking allowed in Kansas.
i so want her to run in 2012
i love tina fey
Palin's efforts were wildly successful in the overall effort to send libs packing. So, go ahead and continue to attack her with your juvenile name-calling; who cares?
Clara, we're all a minority somewhere.
That would be good for SNL.
As a Canadian with a bi-partisan, objective view of American politics I really don't see what anyone sees in Sarah Palin, or why they would want her 'endorsement'. I find her extremely irritating, has never served in a national political office, and quite frankly, strikes me as obtuse. The only reason she has risen to prominence was to attract the female vote for McCain. The reality is that she was a pawn. I shudder to think of her staring back from an American $50 bill as America's first female president.
Spider, The Dems were going to loose with or without Sarah P being involved. What she did do is prevent the Reps from also taking the Senate. Reid's seat was yours, then comes Sarah's endorsement of Sharron Angle giving her the Rep nomination. Bennet's seat was yours, then comes Sarah's endorsement of Buck giving him the Rep nomination. Delaware was yours, then comes Sarah's endorsement of O'Donnell giving her the Rep nomination. The funny thing there was that Castle had to give up his House seat to run for the Senate seat. Both seats went to Dems. The list goes on and on....
The truth is, she only excites the Rep / Tea Party base; no one else.
So I agree with Al in Visalia CA:
Run Sarah Run!
If she ran, something I wouldn't mind seeing, would she answer questions? Or would they need to be screened first? Where would she keep her cliff notes? Would there be a new Joe the Plumber or a rehash?
In any event it would be amusing to watch.
Really? I never noticed that applying to GW or Ronald Regan.
Candidate gets Palin endorsement, then wins the race. This proves what? How gullible people can be led to believe cause and effect?
The best part will be when she finally realizes she was used & tossed away like a dirty Kleenex!
More like a used tampon
Palin's "wins" were candidates running in heavy Republican districts without much chance of losing. The 4 (soon to be 5) big races in the Senate the Tea Party lost were failures that secured the majority for the Democrats. Why didn't Palin endorse Republicans in some of the "true blue" states like Vermont, Hawaii, and New York? I didn't see her spend any time trying to help candidates with very little chance of success in those states. If she were really a good little soldier for the Tea Partiers, she would go where the message is weak, not where it is already strong. That's ok, Tea People. Sister Sarah will run, but will lose the nomination to a real politician who has real ideas and is articulate.
Pablum time is over, it is nearly time for our newly elected representatives and senators get down to business and find out how hard the real work is. The neophytes will learn quickly that all the promises they made to their electorate can't be met without the cooperation of a whole bunch of others who also made promises. All of you wide-eyed hopefuls who think the money is going to roll in by February and the unemployment rate will be back down to 4% or less by June, and the wars in the Middle East will continue but miraculously won't deepen the debt - your alarm clock will be going off sometime the end of summer and reality will hit you in the face.
yes run forest run.. there is a bus waiting for you.. take it and leave
BodoMojo
it's funny you asked what "Joe the Plumber" was doing these day..
last night he was in Vegas at the "planned" Sharon Angle Victory Party...too funny , eh?
I wouldn't run if I were Palin. She has more influence in the GOP now than she would as Prez. Besides, it would more than likely be a huge paycut and a dramatic increase in accountability. She would also be expected to read something besides "Field & Stream once in a while.
She hit the wall a long time ago... let's see isn't Africa a country....
God is way too smart to endorse any politician...
Same things kinds of things were said about Reagan too. One other curious thing - the Tea Party Senate candidates that failed or nearly failed were given lukewarm help from the GOP.
Feisty Red Head
Yea sort of like Pelosi right. She probably won't even be the minority leader after last night. Better yet much like the 60 some odd Dems that got kicked to the curb in the House last night because they supported the President over the people that elected them.
I want to see her run, too. I'm ready for Sarah.....after all this I think she can make it. She might make some mistakes in her interviews, but she's not stupid. At least she not like the "sleaze balls" we have in Congress and the Senate. So many men today in politics are nothing but creeps....and it's been proven so. I think that's the one thing Obama hasn't done.
I love Tina Fey!" Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". She is so cute when she does her little bits with Amy. Have you ever noticed one side of her face? Does anyone know what happened to her?
Most of Sarah Palin's pathetically stupid "choices" lost, as well as her vicious right wing hate picks. Then there were the many people who resented her intrusion in state races that she was totally clueless about, and rejected her picks, such as in West Virginia and Maryland. Except for a few candidates, most of her "winning" choices were people who would have won without her "help", and some candidates probably lost votes because of the perception that they were alligned with a semi-literate extremist and shameless opportunist. Palin should consider endorsing candidates who would serve the best interests of the citizens for a change, and stay out of states she doesn't know squat about and could care less about.
This woman is drunk with power!!!! But there's no way to prove that just because she backed a candidate, who won, won because of her. They're Republicans! That's why they won! I can't imagine this country with her at the helm! She'd have to take the same speech writer who has been feeding her stuff to spit out for the GOP. Too bad she couldn't have that person do her press conferences! Can you picture it? What? I don't know. Who? She is the same person who ran for VP! Her brain still works the same! She has just been the front for the GOP! She cost McCain the presidency and now thinks she can do better than he? I think not!
I do not want her for president, but you have to admit she has everyone's attention and she has managed to infuse some enthusiasm in to the tea party. Good for her and for the republicans.
Palin needs run for President and prove to all the white males in her party she can win.
Dear Smashed,
It's only white males who LIKE Sarah Palin. She stands for everything that women have fought to overcome, and most thinking women can't stand her!
A few of my lez friends still have "Vote for the Hot Chick" shirts left over from '08.
Are you crazy??
Capt.Smash
Palin needs run for President and prove to all the white males in her party she can win.
She already won the the 2008 Rubber Dodo Award. What else does she need to win? That should prove everything.
http://www.biologicaldiversity.org/news/press_releases/2008/palin-09-17-2008.html
Mostly, yes. ;D
As a democrat and rational thinking human being, I support Sara's candidacy. What better way to ensure the re-election of Obama?
Capt.Smash, I despise all of Palin's rhetoric, and often I find it offensive, but your post I find offensive for her. She does not have to prove jack to anyone, and that includes "white males". It is highly unlikely she will win anything of consequence since she couldn't even finish her term as governor here in Alaska, but what makes you think she has to prove sh*t to "white males" or anyone else?
I would have to say that the women who stand up to relieve themselves can't stand her.
Well put, Dragonminder.
Once again. Another mis-guided soul. Is the Presidency about proving something to the white boys, or is it about running the Country and solving the issues of the day. You act as though voting is a kids board game. Sarah has no "think-ology".You can't run a country with "DUH" written on your forehead. She's an airhead.
Anyone else notice that the stock market is down today? I guess Wall Street doesn't really like the GOP running the House after all.
Congrats, Jose, I think you were first with this inane and redundant remark.
Well, gee, considering we had folks on here who believed that the Markets were anticipating a big win for the GOP yesterday...
LOL! Appears he's been reading you for awhile now Richard...
All *snark* & no *bite*
Da Noid:
Those people are foolish, too, and like Jose's remark (which certainly could have been in jest) really shouldn't be taken seriously.
Feisty:
Always appreciate your REDundant snarkisms.
The market seems to be responding negatively at the Federal Reserve announcement. I was green before that. I guess you only see what you want to promote your negative view of the Republican gains.
Jose,
Wall Street understands with CERTAINTY that the Repubs didn't gain enough to be effectual,...just enough to be annoying.
Whatever happened to Bob Smith of Obamanation? He used to be the crazy coot shouting the market updates every time they tumbled. He disappeared when they started making demonstrable gains.
I 'miss' him.
Anyone in the market knows that there are 2 more months of Democratic rule in Congress, and based on last years antics in the Senate of bribing Senators for their votes for ObamaCare on Christmas eve, they know any business killing event can happen between now and Nancy giving up the gavel.
Stocks fall after Fed announces buying spree
Central bank to purchase $600 billion in Treasuries to spur economy -AP
Caterpillar has been a driving stock in the DJIA due to all the equipment they are selling to China, so don't think that all DOW activity is due to Dems or Repubs.
I am trying to make sense of Richard's comment to Jose about he being "first with this inane and redundant remark". How can a remark be first and redundant at the same time?
Oh how conveniently you don't remember the bush/cheney years when many a bill was passed in the dead of night or simply co-oped into law while congress was not in session. And all in favor of some horror that gave big business greater control over the land.
Not that the dems are any better. The healthcare bill was the biggest gift to big insurers since well... the tarp (which all you conservatives never seem to remember was crafted on YOUR watch) was to big banks.
you took the words right out of my mouth.. I noticed that.. a big rally huh..
joanna
"anyone knows anything can be done...." that's what I like about you posters from the right - never let facts get in the way...
since there are not 60 dem votes in the senate the repubs can fillibuster any and all bills - thus - nothing could take place without their assistance....
but you go ahead and keep up that fear mongering....
Stock market is up! Can't you read, lib?
Market changes can be spun either way.
You can say it was up because
The response depends upon who is asked and those responses are about as reliable as a weather forecast - and the weather forecast might be more accurate.
Wow! So many Wall Street Analysts above do not know what happened to DOW on GOP win.
It is time to realize you guys know little about baked in information ahead of time! GOP win was anticipated for many months now - think when DOW was 10,200 or even earlier!
You are mistaken, the market doesn't like the continued control of the senate by the DEMs!
NAVYKOZ, quite possible, but Senate was marginally always out of reach of GOP.
Anyways this is a huge difference in the governing power, I sure do see a lot of positive impact on DOW because of this. Some real analysts predict DOW continuing to move higher until at least 12,500
Now Gov. Palin with have competition. Ms. Martinez, Ms. Fallin and Ms. Haley will all have been governor as long as she was by the time 2012 rolls around.
"Governor" Palin???, you give her way too much credit. I think someone should have to actually complete their term before they can carry that banner. Palin quit.... after a 1/2 term. she's a "loser". that's a banner she was born to carry.
Did you notice that kate abbreviated Governor just like Palin abbreviated her term...quitter!
yes and I wouldn't mind banging Ms. Haley. Word is she cheats, so it could happen lol
Now John - 189
today is a new beginning - time to let the harshness of the campaign pass us...
saying Ms Haley may "cheat" should be replaced with the kinder. gentler - "word is she may be cooperative at times".....and that you would be available anytime for some of that cooperation.
John:
Nikki Haley will forever be known as the "drill baby drill" girl.
How did the Octupus do?
Didn't you hear Amy - Paul the Octopus passed away peacefully at the age of 2 1/2 last week... :0(
Paul saw what was coming.
2 1/2 years? Isn't that how long Sarah Palin was governor of Alaska before she quit to be a prognosticator?
Actually, I think Paul was much older than that and that Feisty may have meant to say he passed away 2 1/2 weeks ago.
About the time he realized that Sarah Palin was going to do pretty well with HER prognosticating. Not a perfect 8-0, but not bad for politics either.
Just a nudge better than the president, too.
Feisty, you're right. Paul was 2 1/2 years old.
The octopus died last week.
You are correct also, Jane.
Obviously there is a bit of tongue and cheek happening here, I get that..but isn't it a little arrogant to presume that 'an' endorsement from Palin became 'the' endorsement for the candiate?
Who she aligned with, when she aligned with them, the trends that were in play when she aligned, geographic location etc would be factors to be considered, wouldn't they?
In the end, the article presumes more power to Palin than the candidate themselves. If she had that much pull and fire power, why give such a silly excuse as being a 'lame duck' Gov. and drop out midway through your term?
Sorry...Palin's poo poo stinks like everyone elses For as much "savior" referencing that is heaped on the President, it seems more like Palin is sitting at the Right hand of God to me reading articles like this. Just a thought.
Are Alaskans impressed?
No, wokah, Alaska is not impressed with Half Term Gov. Palin. She dropped us like we were lepers, and headed out for the fame, birght lights, and CAMERAS offered to her by like-no-minded people in the "lower 48". She didn't even spend much time in Alaska campaigning for Miller, the candidate she "endorsed" (because of her personal issues with Murkowski, nothing to do with politics). No, Sarah's flame has about burned out up here in the Arctic. This climate doesn't support quitters; its too cold to quit! Miller will not win this seat when all the votes are tallied, but he might have if Palin had stayed "down south", and I don't mean in Juneau!
Not at all.
For those who think Palin is God's gift to politics, look at how her home state, Alaska, voted. That "write-in" who has most likely beat out Palin-endorsed Joe Miller, is Lisa Murkowski. Murkowski fought for our vote and she got it. Just goes to show that slapping a "Palin Approved" label on something means nothing to Alaskans.
If another state wants her bad publicity, take her, please.
I for one hope she accepts the message Alaskans sent her (Write-in [Murkowski] Won over her candidate) and moves to a state that thinks what she says matters. Hope others she supported dont follow her lead and quit half way through thier jobs, but with them taking the reighs in tough times, who knows
Nobody cares what you Canadians think! This is the United Staes of America, mind your business Vancouver
Palin disinterested in Seattle:
What does the half term ex-
Gov. stand for? Besides making money for herself?
Why do the rethuglicans love China so much thats were they send all of our jobs. Then they want to give tax breaks to those anti-American corprations
They got the jobs, and we got the stink-bugs.
Just to toss in a bit of seriousness into this conversation... to touch on the 'sending jobs to china' thing... Our company is doing the same thing. They just built a new R&D building in China, and doubled the size of their manufacturing plant. We had an 'all employee' conference call with our CEO last week during which someone actually had the balls to ask him why they kept investing in China... in a nut shell, this is what our CEO said.
"Yeah, we're investing in China. The chinese government is covering all the costs of our new R&D offices as well as the expanded manufacturing site. They are also paying the wages of every worker we hire for a full 12 months. We'd be crazy not to take them up on that offer."
Bottom line is that while America believes in the free market, the rest of the word (especially China) does not. They have drastically tilted the playing field in their favor. So while everyone in the US laments all of these jobs being sent overseas and trashes our President as being a 'Socialist', it is the Socialist policies of China that is driving all of those jobs over seas and away from our 'Free Market Capitalism'.
I'm sorry to hear that and hope you will still be employed. Can I ask is the office staff being idled as well or just the production employees. My guess is everybody, even the "white collar" workers are losing their jobs. The market has to be regulated or greedy coporations will opt for huge profit over patriotism, and the good of America everytime the opprotunity exists. Americans can not compete in the unregulated free market, there really is no unregulated free market the Chinese government regulates the market as suits their purpose. This is affecting all americans not just union manufacturing workers, it is the same reason college grads are working at retailers stocking shelves.
Jeff T - as you can see, China is investing in THEIR economy. Why is it so hard for America and American companies to invest in AMERICA? Our stimulus bill was investment in America (amonsgst other things) and the GOPers had a cow.
Get used to seeing what Jeff T is experiencing. Since the GOP's refusal to pass any bill that makes outsourcing illegal you will see more of this.
The question will be this - will the GOP supporters cry 'bloody murder' when we have situations like this or will they stay silent, like the did during the Bush Administration's tenure?
Republicans hate communists, unless they are employees, then they are fine. They love America, they just don't want Americans working for them, Americans are not profitable enough, too many rules and regulations about paying them, paying payroll taxes, lots of red tape when you kill or maim them, it is a big unnecessary hassle that gets in the way and hampers good business.
You all need to get a grip. Big Business OWNS this country lock, stock and barrel. They tell the government what they want and regardless of the party they get it. Until we abolish lobbyists in Washington this country will never be governed by the people--because we the people cannot compete when it comes to handouts to elected officials.
Voting in the other guy is never going to accomplish anything until we get Big Business out of our government for good. I leave it up to you to figure out how we might accomplish this.
Jeff T. - And the last time I checked China was just full of personal liberties and the ability to speak your mind. Only pure socialism would give us what we want. Do you know why socialism doesn't work - because people are involved.
How much longer before everything is owned by a handful and the rest of us are working for minimum wage?
Guys on the radio pick the winners all the time. You mean, they could 'endorse' the winners ahead of time, and be some kind of geniuses??
But seriously, folks- she needs to run for Prez in 2012-2014 1/2.
BTW- anyone remember Rush Screwbaugh's (failed) "operation chaos"?
Maybe we need to ressurect that little folly soon.......
And just where is Hillary? Anyone know?
Huddling with her advisers I'm sure.
You looks only last so long Hill, 2012 might be your last shot at the big chair.
Hillary is the Secretary of State, JoAnnaSmith1. She has a real job with actual responsibilies and such, unlike Mrs. Palin.
I thought Obama had a real job too. Didn't stop him from campaigning 24/7 for a couple of months. I guess we now know who has the important job, correct?
are you attempting to make a point? 2nd question, are you related to Palin? I understand you about as well as I understand her.
"Didn't stop him from campaigning 24/7 for a couple of months."
There you go again with a gross exaggeration.
Secretaries of State campaigning is just not "done," and you know it.
I guess you guys are just typical losers. The secretary of state is a piece of garbage. She couldn't control her husband let alone the country. Both her and the creature that we call the President might as well give up. The change they wanted so badly didn't work. Smart people knew that it wouldn't, stupid people believe the hype. Its now time to hang your heads in shame. Grow up and step aside.
Sarah is on a roll and will whup Obama in 2012
Will Rush Screwbaugh move back from Costa Rica now?
That's when I move to Sweden and laugh my head off as she totally screws up the US.
She the ones she backed and ran would have won no matter. The ones that mattered, that were the same sort of fringe idiots lost. Palin is a moron, and is basically what is wrong with this country. That is along with the fringe freaks on the right and the left.
Riiiiiiight. Because cowardice is always a better option than standing up for what you believe in, amirite, Lefty?
Sad to say on my predictions, I had down Sarah would be carrying Rush's LOVE child by now. I missed THAT one AND the House loss. AND the Carnahan thing. I did a couple of 'em right, though,...not TOO bad. Read 'em and laugh, folks!
From last December:
Ron,
Thanks for the opportunity and the interest!
I predict Sandra Bullock will win an Oscar for her portrayal in the movie The Blindside.
I predict Hollywood will continue with a progressive/liberal bias.
I predict Meet the Press will bottom out in the ratings.
I predict Lawrence O will get his own show (Feisty, this bone’s for you!).
I predict the Dems lose 20 house seats.
I predict the Dems pick up 2 Senate seats for a 62-38 SUPER DUPER majority. (gains in MO, FL, AZ & OH and losses in NV & CO)
I further predict Joe Lieberman will lose his chairmanship in January 2011 (if it isn’t stripped sooner based on his HCR obstruction)
I agree that Arlen Specter is done, Sestak will win this one.
I predict Pam may actually blow a gasket. [sorry GF; but you spend a lot of time swinging,…:)]
I predict Tiger Woods will check himself into Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew.
I predict Sarah Palin will get pregnant with Rush Limbaugh’s Love Child.
I predict my cyber stalker will get over it? (more wishful thinking)
I predict Frank ‘Grimey’ Grimes will vote straight Libertarian.
I predict the economy will add 1,600,000 jobs by November Election Day 2010.
I further predict that fair or not, Dems will get credit for even the most minute incremental improvement. (Which is why I continue to be amazed by the G’NO’P’s doubling down on nothing – this ‘genius’ plan is simply NOT playing to the center the way they hope it is). Any mystery why Insurance companies are more trusted by 2% points than Congress?
And finally, I predict HCR will be signed, sealed and delivered by our 7th anniversary in Iraq.
maybe Palin could be the Obama's maid in the White House. she may learn something, who knows she may even learn how to act like a lady from the First Lady Michelle Obama. Palin for WhiteHouse Maid, let's hear it.
And yet Alaska is undecided and looks like it will go to Murkowski. Her own state did not go for her candidate there. Don't you think that is odd?
Does anyone know what is her popularity percentage is in Alaska?
Elise: From what I gather, her popularity has tanked. Most Alaskans, Repubs as well as Dems, don't take her too seriously since she dropped them like a hot potato for a bigger paycheck, under the guise of "saving Alaska money" for all those "frivolous" ethics violations lawsuits. I wonder why she didn't bother to stay and fight to prove she was innocent? After all, she didn't seem to hesitate to spend thousands upon thousands of someone else's money for designer clothing during her failed VP bid.... Guess one has to have priorities, though....
Jase - It is certain that she will not learn how to act like a lady, grace or class from you.
Jase
No the only thing she might learn from Michelle is how to go on vacation after vacation and have party after party when the economy is in the tank. The modern day Marie Antoinette couldn't teach much to anyone.
How'd Obama's endorsements fare? Not so well in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Florida and Wisconsin. He lost all the Senate races and all the Governors races in those states, plus a lot of House seats. Obama couldn't even have his endorsement for his old Senate seat win in Illinois. Obama did endorse Reid. Now we get watch Harry stumble around for a couple of more years before he becomes Minority Leader in the Senate.
I imagine Obama's endorsements were quite a bit under the 50% win mark.
Don't see much of ex-President Billy Clinton today either. How'd he do on his endorsements? All that fanfare for him , and he's really not much a draw for the Democrats. I guess we can hang a double loss on him for the Meeks/Crist fiasco in Florida.
But a private citizen woman from Alaska, she's the new King maker. Go figure.
Ed Rendell needed to go sooner or later. His incompetence was extant long before Obama became a household name.
I'd call the PA gubernatorial a result that was a long time in the making and conincidental with what's happening otherwise.
Yup. Looks that way. Unlike New York and California, Illinois is starting to get it, but it is still trailing behind it's sister states in the Midwest. Looks like it will take another go around of high taxes, less government services, more unemployment, and corrupt politicians before the good people of Illinois finally figure it out.
Hey JAS1, Where has Georgie Boy been?
.......Is he too bashful or ashamed to come out from behind the curtin? ..Oh, he let his 'brain' Rove, as usual, do the dirty work!
Keeping quiet like all ex-Presidents should, not embarrassing himself like Clinton and Carter do on a regular basis, and occassionally throwing out first pitches at important baseball games and not making a fool of himself in the process of doing so like Barack "Mom-Jeans" Obama does.
Hope this helps.
Chilled:
He was at the world series, acting like an ex-president.
You might want to see a proctologist, you seem to have a "rove" up your bu*t.
My, Oh My, Richard and JAS1!
There you both go......nasty!...typical Repugnants!...anything else?
Guess Georgie lost his swagger, ...just wish he would have lost his swagger and acted Presidental before 4,500 lives were lost in his illegal invasion of another country, based on lies.....and Billions of dollars spent!
Ya'll keep the faith!
ED
Rendell couldn't run again,...
JoAnnaSmith1

Wrong again; Lady.
chilled ... you referring to the war that Obummer escalated? Sorry your lib friends lost so badly yesterday and I hope that you're able to recover from your inability to think.
Your president blows. He had no experience, no credentials and no ability coming into the job and even with a Democrat controlled Congress he accomplished amazingly little. But yeah, keep talked about Bush if that makes you feel better.
And poor Beverly in Chicago ... her messiah has been rejected by the nation. It obviously hasn't set in for her yet so everyone be sure to keep quiet about what happened yesterday because we wouldn't want to upset her.
Can you post a pic? I want to see what you look like as opposed to the pics of the other idiots I've collected. do you have a unibrow too?
E Dragon- Ed Rendell was term limited and could not run again. I don't know if you would call that sooner or later.
Really? He was at the end of his term limit? I thought he got blown away in the primary! Woops.
"Hello, Mouth! My name is FOOT!"

Yup. Looks that way. Unlike New York and California, Illinois is starting to get it, but it is still trailing behind it's sister states in the Midwest. Looks like it will take another go around of high taxes, less government services, more unemployment, and corrupt politicians before the good people of Illinois finally figure it out.
Oha Joanna, i love it when people like you, who know nothing about Illinois want to tell us about high taxs. illinois income tax is one of the lowest in the nation, i work here in Denver, make alot less but i pay more in state tax now than in Illinois. even though 2former governors, 1 a republican in jail, and 1 a Democrat on his way to jail were corrupt as hell, the one thing they did not do was raise tax. we have not had a state income tax increase in 8 years. Now i know Illinois is broke, but i had to correct you about tax in Illinois as well as Chicago.
i would love to know where your from, I'm sure your state is broke as well, with high tax and your own share of corrupt politicians.
here is a bit of back ground about Pat Quinn, while blago was selling a senate seat, pat was working for our vets and college students making sure loans were avaible for kids who needed then for school and making sure vets when they got home from war, were not treated the way the Bush administration was treating this, by making sure they got the best healthcare possible. he has done more for our vets(that Bush sent to war based upon lies) than anybody i know. he got his start with the late harold washington the citys first black mayor in 1983.
mark Kirk will be a non factor in the senate. richard durbin is our real senator, kirk is a bush want to be. i will say i'm not suprised kirk won, Alexi should have never run, given his familys bank problem.
Chilled,
But your baiting is ok? Is that how the libbies roll?
btberry----The Country lost yesterday, if you can wrap your brain around the thought about what has been going on the last 19 months! Forget your bumper sticker mentality!
Progressives want to move the country forward.......can you understand that? If not, as progress is made, you will eventually learn to appreciate it....unless of course you are a corporation!
Oh, I guess you are a multinational corporation! Citizens United fan! btberry.....
Chef.....
Baiting?....who me....never!
tyler i did not know using the word Negro would get me collasped. on my birthcertificate i'm called a negro. what wrong with using a term that is on my brithcertificate
I love to eat los frijoles negros con arroz.
Guess Tyler isn't a Negro.......
And your point is?
All I know is, O'Donnell can't pick 'em worth a crap. Last night, she was still calling herself the winner!
If it weren't so sad, it'd have been hillarious.
"hey, Paul the octo-dad: y' dead?"
(Paul the Octo-dad): "Nope."
All I know is, Pelosi can't pick 'em worth a crap. Last night, she was still saying the House "Was trending towards the Democrats"!
If it weren't so sad, it'd have been hillarious.
See there JoAnna, we're finding common ground already. I hope you enjoyed the MSNBC punditry on that little visual, because it really was pretty hysterical.
What do you want to bet Pelosi is going to be completely confused when they come to move her out of the Speaker's offices. Pretty sure she still thinks they won.
Speaker Pelosi wil go down in history for a number of reasons. but first & foremost she helped President Obama & Senate Leader Reid pass the Affordable Health Care Act as well as the Lilly Ledbetter Act. Nancy Pelosi has done great things and will forever be respected in the history of the Democratic party.
Jase - I don't care what the reasons are, as long as she is going down.
Jase, you are spot on. People may not like Speaker Pelosi. She may not have the greatest personality. She may not have the most brilliant mind.
But by garsh, she sure shepherded a lot of legislation through the House. I didn't like or agree with much of it, but you got to give her credit. She got a LOT done.
JoAnnaSmith- you seem pretty bright these days. So tell us- what's the first thing the Repubs need to do come January to start the jobs flooding back into the country? You can forget Obama, Socialists, Teleprompters and all those distractions. What's the solution, hot-stuff?
Drive-thru: I've stated many times here what needs to be done, both in the lame duck session and when the new Congress returns. Maybe you and someone like the resident crack researcher Pietro can get on the case and scrounge up those old posts of mine. When you find them, print them off and tape them to the wall in front of you so you don't have to ask the question again.
Ooops- busted. For not reading the Smiff posts.
Driveby
Great post. Last nite in interviews when asked the same questions, Bachmann and Cantor couldn't/wouldn't answer. I somehow think they don't have a clue as to what to do. And I personally expect the economy turned around in a year and 10 months. You know, just like President Obama was expected to do.....
man, what was Michelle Bachmann on last night? she actually looked like a ho. for a moment I thought maybe she ain't so bad and then she opened her mouth...........oh well, thank God for the mute button. (a key Democratic invention first recognized for it's importance during the Bush/Cheyney years!)
I can't find ANY post over the past 9 months where Joanna mentioned anything about what needs to be done other than post after post of steaming piles of hyperbole.
Not a damn thing of substance was found.
Odd, isn't it?
Pietro
She fits right in with the righties....never answer a direct question....smoke and mirrors help immensely.
Well, Dee, now Joanna is on the hook to explain why we don't have jobs in this country. Lucky for us our lives don't depend on her answer.
By the way, Joanna, how come unemployment is at 10%? the Republicans are in power now, correct? Why isn't it lower??
The 'American People' want to know.
Pietro
As I said in an earlier post, I highly doubt Joanna will answer directly, although she indicated she has done so in previous posts. Hmmm.....
Anyway, the Republicans really don't have a clue. As for Palin, being clueless is all she knows. She speaks rhetoric-eese - alot of words, no substance. She's been on the national scene for almost 2 years now. What exactly has she done to deserve ANY credit? Oh yeah, she did quit on Alaska.
Dee - maybe Joanna will actually post something of substance that proves me WRONG...
Nah.
Hate is her middle name.
It is sad that the bimbo could even predict one right, much less several--oh, well maybe a moose or a bear will trip over her dumb ass in Alaska.
I think SarahPalin gets along very well with the moose community..(wink, wink)... what happens in Alaska stays in Alaska.
Re: Jase25....
Let's not toss out the entire state of Alaska over Palin.
You might want to look at how Alaska is polled regarding Palin. When asked if they would want her as president, 70% of AK said: NO
Also, Joe Miller is going to lose to Murkowski in the Senate race. Palin and Miller have a long history back before she was governor. Miller losing in Alaska is a major, major slap down for Palin.
Tagline: Palin has no majority in Alaska
President Obama thinks there are more than 53 states in our country. He also thinks that a corpsman is a corpseman. The vp thinks FDR was in office and TV was the rage when the market crashed in '29. No one else can be called dumb after that.
Jase-25, et al....
Reference link for poll issued by PPP October 31, 2010. There's a pdf link at the bottom of the blog entry. Questions Q10 and Q11 regard Palin. Q10: Favorable/Unfavorable: 58% unfavorable; 33% Favorable Q11: Do you want Sarah to run for President 2012: 70% NO; 18% YES
Note: Miller's current hold in Senate race is ~34%, same as Palin's favorable rating.

I can't wait to repube bash. It will be a welcome relief after the last 2 years of right wing wailing.
You know what, I'd pledge to give up my repug bashing if I thought they had any viable ideas. I'm an opimist so I'll give it some time...........
I want to thank the Academy for this Award. You know, I'm just one of they guys, not some snooty intellectual. And I'd like to thank Faux News for their support, free air time, free travel and financial backing, I couldn't have done this without their support. By golly, I did it. You love me. You really love me!
Let's hear for the 2012 Palin / O'Donnell Ticket
Madams: Just the (inacurate) facts, please
With these statistics at the national stage (i.e., 55% win for her endorsements for senate; 48% win for her endorsements for representatives), she seems to be just about even, yes?
Within the context of all the Republican gains in these elections, when the reds really clobbered the blues, the success of Palin's endorsements is significantly less than than the overall trend.
just sayin.......
granted I'm a die-hard Dem and I think Palin is an embarrassment to Americans everywhere but as far as your comments... she holds no sway in the populace states........the electoral college.......the blue states........the "thinking" states.....the "intellectual" of this fine country consider Palin a fool..........jus sayin....
Jase - I am so glad to know that there are "thinking" states and "intellectuals" in this fine country which you equate with blue states etc. I did not know that because I live in a red state (for now) that I am "non-thinking" and not intelligent.
What is really wrong here is the assumption that because someone supports something that you do not it makes them unintelligent. Please consider this before making broad generalizations.
Before you ask, I am neither republican nor democrat. I have no ill feelings for the President. I am not sure he has done a great job but I think he needs a little time. I am not a Palin supporter but I also have no ill feeling against her. We all do what we think is best at the time and I belief she has made some bad decisions. Now, I do not like Nancy Pelosi for the same reason I am writing this. She is a rude elitist. This is America and whether you like it or not, and whether she likes it or not we all have the right to be who we are. I wouldn't want it any other way.
TLW - think about it - Nancy Pelosi has to herd 433 cats in the House. If she is not a strong - and yes, sometimes RUDE - person, nothing will get done. Nancy Pelosi has been one of the best Speakers in US History (if you think I am wrong, if she wasn't would she have been targeted by the GOPers?).
You don't get to be Speaker of the House if you are not willing to crack heads, twist arms and be RUDE once in a while.
You are entitled to your opinion, and I am not trying to impugne your thought process.
TLW, please get off this board.
You are contaminating the Palin-bashing party by spewing out benevolent, thoughtful rhetoric.
How dare you!
Sarah Palin lost all credibility when she resigned her office.
some of us would argue it was significantly prior to that date! of course, that didn't help her case.
She was pretty much done after the Katie Couric interview...which really was softball....but of course she thought it was 'gotcha' journalism!
Stick a fork in her! Done!
First Read Editors:
1) Palin endorsed Tancredo last minute
2) Miller is in ALASKA (AK) and NOT ALABAMA (AL)
AK v AL
Children could have fared as good as Palin. The ones that mattered, the fringe freaks like herself that she backed lost or are losing. That is the story. Not the people that would have won anyway, but the ones that needed her help and the ones she pushed into the losing column.
The octopus did better!
I'm going to be fair. I'll give the Republicans the same amount of time they gave to the current batch. So, in January, I'm going to announce that I want them to fail, just like the Lord Rush did, then I'm going to say no to every little idea they come up with. It's always nice to turn the tables, is it not?
well, let's give them a few minutes/days/weeks even to see if they "have" any ideas. I'm doubtful but I don't think we should stoop to their level. this country is in too much trouble.
I ain't holding my breath, Jase. You can see it on here with the right wing posters. Even now, when asked, they can not give one idea.
Senate candidate Miller is from AK (Alaska) not AL (Alabama)! Way to go NBC News. Learn your state abbreviations!
Slow down a little....they probably went to a liberal public school founded by liberals with liberal teachers. You can't expect them to learn anything there can you?
alaskavoter: To be fair, this is a typo. Get over it. It's not like they called the Repubs who lost Dems, like they do constantly over on Faux....
alaskavoter
the bottom line is whether it said AK or AL Miller lost to a candidate simply named "write in"....that's something to be proud of!
maybe he would have done better if his slot just said "Palins handpicked biatch".
