Five Tea Party-backed candidates running for Senate have won their campaigns — three have lost so far.
Pat Toomey (PA), Rand Paul (KY), Marco Rubio (FL), Ron Johnson (WI), and Mike Lee (UT) are the five who will be Senators. Christine O’Donnell (DE), Sharron Angle (NV), and John Raese (WV) lost their bids.
The remaining two Tea Party candidates — Ken Buck (CO) and Joe Miller (AK) — have very competitive races.

let's see - these 5 will all be sitting on the minority side of the aisle....
the minority side has already been voting "no" on every measure to date..
how do these 5 baggers change anything from just the everyday normal do nothing republicans?
the baggers say their voices will be heard - where exactly?
Let's see - Obama has lied on just about every promise he made to Americans who've elected him, and his mindless Congressional minions have stood by him in this all the way.
That makes Progressive Liberalism the party of YES (to whatever Obama or his proxy might say)?
If his is the party of YES we can in the context of Yes we can lie to the American people as often and as deeply as we see fit for our idea of what is good for the people, then my vote is very definitely given to the Party of NO FRIGGIN WAY!!! Their voices, the TEA PARTY VOTERS my friend, have been heard.
The TEA PARTY says their voices will be heard. It's their voices you're responding to.
Sorry you're not up to speed on that.
We're up to speed on this: Obama never lied. Every effort was blocked by the party of NO! There's a big distinction. It may however, appear too subtle to you.
As for the Tea Party, well, we'll see what comes of that. I think they'll be exposed for what they are, paranoid, selfish blowhards without a clear thought or plan. If your communicative abilities are any clue, I'm guessing you're one of them.
pic a pocket
there is "no" tea party to hear - you are the one who needs to wake up.
five additional "nos" still makes it a minority in the senate - heck, all the repubs in the minority in the senate could be tea partiers and it would have the same effect - all saying no!
let's see you baggers keep your promise
1. to be heard
2. to break the gridlock and actually get something done........good luck with that
2012 Headline: Tea Party Proves they are also the Party of No - No Could Do!
So sick of all the partisan politics in this country - worse than Sunni and Shia Muslims, with a similar effect; going backwards. Time for Americans to look at more than two viable parties....................
They will l likely be heard better when the Blue Dogs who were browbeat , intimidated, cajoled, and blackmailed into towing the liberal progressive agenda of a now absent Pelosi, a hamstung Ried and marginalized Obama, find their real Democrat selves again and opt to colaborate with the new reality that is coming to D.C. This referendum on the current adminstration will serve as a harbinger of things to come in 2012. And those whom value their tentative status as survivors of this political massacre would do well to consider this day if they are to have any chance at all of retaining their jobs. This goes for republicans too. The people are still angry and they want results. As we have just seen, when annoyed by condesending tyrants the American people are capable of rallying to preserve their republic. Ignore them at your political peril.
This is interesting and all, but there's something I want to mention that I've noticed, especially in discussions.
People who are for the Tea Party see the victories and defeats like this:
If a tea party candidate won, is clearly a wholesale rejection of Obama and the democrats.
If they lost, voter fraud must have taken place.
Now, I would like to ask how a person is supposed to reason with that kind of mentality? How do you reason with a person who holds the tea party in such high regard and the democrats in such low regard that they think that the only way that the democrat won was through cheating? How do you reason with a person who thinks that anything that's not far to the right is automatically evil
While what you've noticed on the first part might be true to a certain point it probably has more to do with the ambivalence and intrusiveness on the the part of government in general and the majority of Americans frustration at being told one thing by politicians to get elected and then turning around and serving their own self interests politically and financiallyno matter what their party affiliation. I support the Tea Party, and while I know darn well there is some cheating going on on both sides, I by no means think that just because a Democrat won an election that it means he cheated to get elected or stole it. The people that make up the Tea Party are a diverse and wide demographic, despite assertions by some to the contrary. It is no fairer to depict all Democrats as liberal, progressive or communist than it is to claim all Tea Party people are white middle-aged toothless rednecks waiving the Stars and Bars or a Nazi flag. I take people as they come and while it may be convenient to paint one group or another with such a broad brush it is hardly fair. I don't think people are evil for not holding the same views I do. Just erroneously well intended.
