Boxer hangs on in California

From the NBC News political team
Don't call her ma'am, call her senator — for another Senate term.

NBC News projects that incumbent Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer has hung on to her job after facing a challenge from former HP CEO Carly Fiorina.

The governors race in the California is still too early to call.

I just don't understand why people can't just worry about the people who represent them, their governor, their congressman/woman, their senator..... if you don't live in California then just keep your comments to yourself it really is none of your business, it is what the people themselves in California want and what we got is what we deserve. You had nothing to say in their election so as they say if you didn't vote (for them) don't complain afterwards. Look at your own state/county/city and praise your wins, put down your losses but stay out of other states' political actions..........

Dennis, if that were only true. As someone not from California I'm effected by the way California Reps vote all the time. The Governor, not so much. Unless California, like New York, starts going broke due to irresponsible spending and they turn to the Fed for a bail-out. Then My taxes have to cover Californias bad habits. So Dennis, yeah, it is a concern to me that Californians can't seem to learn from their unfortunate mistakes.

What a complete waste. Boxer is part of the TRIANGLE of WASTE along with Polosi and Feinstein.  They have create an America that has made more people dependent on Government and have ruined the worlds best economy.  While we lucky that the Republicans won the House. It won't be over until we have the Sen. back and the White House back.  We have got to get these types of radical liberals out of our lives.  Like the earlier writer said - I PITY all the fools that voted for this witch.  Also, she is a Ma'am, always will be a Ma'am.  She has not earned the right to be called Sen. nor has she earned the right for respect.

Now see, this is why I could never live in California. Californians never learn. The State is totally broke. State employees have to take days off without pay. the schools are overcrowded and broke. You could just go on and on about Californias problems. Yet, Californians get a chance to correct their situation and they re-elect Jerry Brown again. lol. Common. This is the same guy who was driving when California was going bankrupt before Arnold took over. Then you throw Pelosi and Boxer back at America when they obviously can't even tie their own shoes, much less be effective Senators. LEARN SOMETHING FROM YOUR PAST MISTAKES CALIFORNIA!!!! You can't fix what is broke by throwing money at it.

I'm glad the conservatives have taken over the House. Now they're in the hot seat and with their radical nonsense, we'll see how bad they really are. This win will ultimately end in their future defeat two years from now. The voters gave them rope and they'll turn it into a noose and hang themselves.

These two years are really an investment for the future of this country. It will be a moment of proven incompetence and they'll be swept away in the next election. The economy will improve (as it has been doing), they can't take credit for it and they will be written up in history as the new "no-nothings".

Don, don't pass the buck so quick. I don't expect that the GOP run Senate will be able to accomplish anything due to the Dem run House and the Dem President. The fun thing is though. The Dems can't accomplish anything anymore without playing nice and listening to what the GOP has to say now. :D. AHHH Fun times.

Apparently, from this post and your previous one, you don't know the difference between the Senate and the House of Representatives. The GOP will not run the Senate. I'll try to make it just a bit easier for you. The party with the biggest number has the most control. Just in case you didn't get that far when you were trying to learn to count, 51 is BIGGER than 46. Keep posting though. It's kind of fun to read.

Rick, I have to ask what your on about?? We started this thread talking about how the GOP is going to change things now that they have a majority in the Senate. I simply stated that there will be little difference with the exception of Obama's agenda will take a major slow down. As far as California and the wonderful liberals there who seem to not get it. Just keep on going in the same direction no matter how messed up it is. Keep digging that debt hole deeper and deeper. ORRRRRRR. You could wake up and smell the coffee. You could realize that the direction your currently headed is the wrong one and get back on track. As it is, Industry is leaving California in droves due to high taxes. Jobs are leaving due to Industries quick departure. Maybe tourism will save you guys. lol. Doubt it though. Crime is keeping tourists at bay. It is fun to watch though. Its like watching a car pile up in the interstate. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger. :D.

BMC - we're not the ones digging the hole deeper! We're the ones who stopped the hemorraging that the Republicans started - and are poised to continue and re-open by extending tax cuts to the richest 2%. That's the real car pileup about to happen!

Rick, lets think about it. The Republicans cut taxes to businesses in hopes of creating jobs. Democrats raise taxes to businesses which stops job growth and even forces some businesses to move out of state or shut down all together. There have been many examples given on how Carli Fiorina has outsourced jobs to India. Think about HP and what they have to do to stay in business. Why does it cost $500,.000.00 for a three bedroom shack in California and you can get a mansion for that in Virginia? Why are property taxes so high? Is it the cost to run the Government? Welfare? Medicaid? The need to pay higher wages based on the Economy California has set up for itself? Where have all of these initiatives come from? Why is treatement permitted to every illegal alien at tax payers expense? You have sympathy for everyone except those who truely deserve it. Those Americans out there in California who are just trying to get by. Meanwhile jobs are leaving in troves. Simply put, enjoy your creation, but leave it inside your borders. The rest of America doesn't need it.

I'm surprised at how many people are shocked that Brown/Boxer got the votes. This is a welfare state, the masses won't vote anything but a Dem in, and the Dems made it a welfare state partially to secure votes. It's a wheel that this state won't be able to get out of anytime soon. None of the people I work with (most of which are Reps/Tea Party people) are the least bit surprised. Maybe a bit disappointed, but it's the kind of disappointment you anticipate. Much in the same way your 5-year old will get into a cookie jar, despite your advising why it's not the right thing to do lol.

Continue to work hard and protect your investments, it's all you can do. Unless you really want to move to another state, which some have already done over the past few years. I'm staying here and I refuse to let this state dictate how successful or prosperous I want to be.

This is no surprise, after having resided and worked in california for years anyone who has ever lived there could predict this. California is so far leftist and anti anything american it will always be a safe haven for the likes of boxer/pelosi/brown. Thats why california is home base for the elite pedophilific hollywood types, gays and wanna be communists.

Thats also why everything is more expensive in california vs the rest of the country, and why their unemployment is higher and both are about to go up even more. Honest working people are leaving, business is leaving and california's condition will just become worse.

Its a shame too, it was a beautiful place for many years, but without a major collapse it appears to be past saving as is.

lisa what are you talking about? Retired86 was on page 1. lol. Do away with Medicare and SS. Thats fine with me. Give me the money I have invested into both programs over the years and I'll invest it and take care of my own retirement. As far as putting words into peoples posts that aren't there, you should be very careful. 86 never stated that "whoever disagreed with him is anti-American.
