Cornyn: Still backing Miller in AK

The top Republican charged with expanding his party's caucus in the United States Senate denied a report Sunday that national Republicans are abandoning Alaska GOP nominee Joe Miller in favor of write-in candidate Lisa Murkowski.

"That's not the case," National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman John Cornyn said on ABC's "This Week." "We are supporting the nominee of our party, which is Mr. Miller.”

Cornyn did add that he is "concerned" about the state of the race, and he declined to say whether he believes Miller can win. "I think that polls are very close now between Senator Murkowski and Joe Miller, and what we want to make sure of is that the Democrat doesn't win," he said.

Incumbent Republican Murkowski, who was defeated by Miller in the primary but has led in recent polls, was stripped of her Senate leadership position after launching what initially seemed to be a long shot attempt to keep her Senate seat with a write-in campaign.

Cornyn's Democratic counterpart, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee head Sen. Bob Menendez, says that his candidate in the race could snatch the victory away from the two Republicans.

"We believe that Scott McAdams actually has a real chance of winning this race," Menendez said on ABC.

chilled, Karl Rove is already starting his push back against the teabaggers (Sarah Palin), preparing for the 2012 presidential election. When I see Rove - I see thousands of innocent people killed in Iraq. I see Afghanistan. I see stolen elections. I see swift boating. I see the buying of elections. I see a liar. And a propagandist for the wealthy.

If I have to choose in 2012, I will go with the teabaggers in the primaries. Karl Rove has brought nothing positive to this nation after all these years. If anything, he has damaged our democracy a great deal.

He is a bought man. He always was.

I hate to break it to the teabaggers but Rove wins that fight going away. He has the Chamber of Commerce behind them, the teabaggers just have the mob. I wonder how the mob will react when they discover that they were used and will be discarded?

Dick Armey and his FreedomWorks lobbying firm has been laughing all the way to the bank. His firm is in bed with insurance companies to derail/repeal HCR.

FreedomWorks and Big Insurance are all one! When Demint gave the rally call for "Obamas Waterloo", that was their marching orders. Armey gets the money and sends the minions out to scream and yell with teabags on their hats! ..now they pretend offense at being called Teabaggers....well, if the hat fits...?

The birth of the Teaparty/Teabaggers......funded by any corporation...but surely not 'grass roots'!

Agree, Rove will crush them after their work is done, which will be very soon!

oh pat come on...the teaparty is bought and paid for by Fox and rich corporations..where you been in a cave...and nice to know you would go with the teaparty...the ones that want to change our constitution...you better think twice about that...once they mess with the constitution there goes our democracy....

Linda, how do I go about getting my check from Fox and those mysterious unnamed rich corporations? If what you say is true, I want my payment. (BTW, the Tea Party folks are the ones who want to ABIDE by the Constitution. So once again, you really couldn't be more inaccurate.)

McAdams will win if Democrats get the vote out and don't lose Democrats to Murkowski's write in bid. she won't win that write in bid now that the list is 150 people long. That's too many names and too confusing for most people. Better would be no list. McAdams will be the upset win when we all wake up Wednesday.

So the unaddressed allegations that Joe Miller is Ahmadinejad's out of wedlock love child don't bother Cornyn? Does that make Cornyn an Iranian stooge also?

You know it amazes me that our country has fallen prey to the propaganda of Fox and the rich cronies...do these people know how Hitler started...he told lies and propagandized the jewish people...eventually they believed it and the wheels were set in motion...this country better wake up....or we will be a dictatorship of the teaparty....

Linda, you have it 100% backwards, and YOU need to wake up. All of the Hitler tactics (and to be more specific, Joeseph Goebbels tactic) have and are being used by the thugs that are now in the White House. Where the heck have you been for the last 2 years? You need to get your head out of the sand. How much does rich crony George Soros pay you to post your, at best. misguided opinions? Have you gotten your cut of the millions he pours into his propaganda campaign?
