Thanks for all the terrific threads this week Mark - Domenico & Ali!

Try to get some rest over the weekend because you KNOW next week is going to be a WILD one! ;0)

Reflections on the Election:

With this being the last weekend before the election I would like to reveal what I've learned over the last couple of weeks:

First I learned that a month ago the MSM & right wingers here at First Read were predicting a Republican tsunami on November 2nd... then a couple of weeks ago it was downgraded to a Category 4 hurricane... and now it's looking like it's only going to be a wave!

I also learned that violence & intimidation against the opposing side is not only condoned by the right wingers it's encouraged!

Then I learned that the US Chamber of Commerce is receiving anonymous donations from foreign to fund attack ads against the Democrats! Essentially admitting that this country is in FACT for sale to the highest bidder!

If that's not enough - thanks to activist SCOTUS judge Roberts and the Citizens United ruling corporations are now counted as citizens.

Which brings me to the question of how many people out there actually know that these innocent sounding groups like Cross-Roads for America and such are actually front groups for the likes of Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie?

All we've heard relentlessly from the right is that business can't hire because of all the economic uncertainty thanks to President Obama!

REALLY? I would think that instead of 7 figure checks to right wing smear machines that money would be of MUCH better SPENT if it was applied towards creating a couple of jobs or two! Talk about screwed up priorities...

I still have faith that the majority of the American people are smarter than they are being portrayed as by the MSM and it is they who will show the HAVES that they have greatly underestimated the HAVE NOTS!

And finally... where were all the right wingers 'Wanting Their Country Back' when President Carter or Clinton were in office?

I also learned that the Republicans have presented ZERO ideas on how to move this country forward.

They are on record thanks to Mitch McConnell that their only priority is to continue to obstruct to ensure President Obama serves ONE term!

So much for the COUNTRY FIRST bullsh!t!

Have a Happy Halloween and I've got some tasty popcorn balls for ALL!

PS: Get out and vote like your life depends on it... because if these tea bagging thugs win it very well may!

Excellent post Feisty,

It's like citizens of the United States are doing everything in their power to become a third world country by eliminating healthcare, social security and minimum wage. This is what is on the Republican menu for the upcoming session.

Please get out and vote and give rides to as many as you can to get them to the polls to vote also.

Great thoughts Feisty.

They CAN hire. They just don't want to until the GOP get in. You wash my back, I'll wash yours type of agreement going on. While people, WITH CHILDREN, continue to be out of work month after month. McConnell, Rove, Boehner - they never gave a damn about us. Never. They are more into lying and exploitation of the economy situation.

Passing the buck. It's what they have always done. I have never heard Karl Rove or Mitch McConnell or John Boehner say anything that was 100% the truth. Ever.

Is Meg Whitman going to lose? How much money did she spend on this election? Did she fix any schools, any roads? Build any libraries? Museums? Help fund any libraries or museums? At any point at all while she was making her millions?

With all that money she just may have. I haven't received the memo yet saying she did though.

Terrific post to end the week, Feisty.

Ignore Steve, he apparently doesn't know the difference between copying and writing something in your own words.

Thanks FR hosts for another fine week of topics. Watch for the little ghosts and goblins. Happy Halloween and have a nice weekend.

Thanks Ladies & Steve too I guess! lol

Trust me Jody, I'm a big fan of ignoring Steve - however, in full disclosure I did copy & paste that post from the First Thoughts thread this morning where I had originally posted it.

If the righties can copy & paste all over the place well then... so can I.

Now... who wants to head on over to the Dew Drop Inn? First round of 'libertini's' are on me!

Hope everyone has a Great Weekend & a Fun & Safe Halloween!

Hey, Feisty and gang: What have we learned this week? That the right wing can be excited to violence against those engaged in peaceful demonstration, a right that is assured by the Constitution. So funny about the "teabaggers" They like to talk about the Constitution but they certainly don't know much about it. I guess the only thing they care about it the Second Amendment. People are waking up to the craziness of the "teabagger" candidates, and are rejecting some, which is lucky for the rest of us. Garrison Keillor, a much loved figure in MN, and host of the Prairie Home Companion, went to the 6th district in MN to campaign against Bachmann. He has legitimate concern, after all Lake Wobegon is in that district. Hope that he has impact, it is time for Bachmann to be sent packing. We also learned that security is an on-going concern, and that we need to be vigilant. Good thing we have President Obama in office. IR: Hope everything is ready at the Dew Drop Inn. My barn chores are done, I ran the pup, and I am ready for some good conversation with my friends! Feisty, I think I am back to Long Island Tea this weekend, as hard as it is to digest, but then so is the hooey put forth by the "teabaggers". Thanks to my hosts, hope you have a restful weekend, next week will be crazy for you. Not too concerned about how the races go, if it goes badly, it is simply because there are those who haven't learned their lesson about the Republican Party, and its most extremist wing, the "teabaggers".

Thanks Mark - Domenico and Ali for all that you do to keep us straight on FR

The way State polls are being conducted have changed considerably. I heard Chuck Todd answer in a live discussion yesterday that they do not have much confidence in the state polls when asked about the polls.

The majority of pollsters in the red states are Republicans sympathizers and they have personal tendency to show Republican candidate as being a head in the polls. They are using the polls to make people believe that Republicans are posed to gain seats in the congress.

Some of these pollsters never supported the health care bill and are now using the polls as their weapon of making sure that the party they are sympathizing with (Republicans/Teabaggers) wins.

They are applying the same methods that they applied in the year 2000.

Look at the actual trend based on those who have voted early. They are Democrats. The majority of those who have voted early are Democrats and this obviously tells how the actual trend will turn out to be unless Republicans come up with some hanging chads as they have done in the previous years.

What do you expect the estimates of the polls to be in a situation where Republicans poll themselves? In a situation where the majority of firms conducting the polls are infiltrated by pollsters who are Republican sympathizers, it becomes extremely misleading for people to blindly believe in the polls without verifying the pollsters' political affiliation.

The final results of these midterm elections will be a surprise to many Republicans.

Real classy as usual Feisty...why not just call people who don't share your views "the enemy" like President Obama did.

JFK- leave Palin out of this. This country has enough enemies as it is.
