Don't Mail - Don't Vote for the military?

OUr biggest problem is jobs going overseas and this is fueled by the imbalance in currency that makes it cheaper to manufacture in China mostly and India.

No amount of cutting spending or shrinking our government will change these dynamics; which by the way government has been shrinking all year even as the teabaggers are decieved into believing big government is the main problem (if not for shrinking government we've actually had positive job numbers all year).

However, we could modify the tax incentives that even further exacerbates this healthy capitalist trend of companies to make more profit by lowering production cost even if it means shipping that production outside is one way that can help. Another option would be to have all countries to adhere to uniform standards of treating labor as how we value ouselves but that will not happen (we long lost the bully stick over China since the Clinton approved and Repulbican pushed trade agreement of couple of decades ago). Which led to the house vote to exactly reduce the advantages of shipping production out of State a proposal that Republicans and particularly Kirk has vowed to fight.

While we angrily continue to carry their water as well as that of the Chamber of Commerce, we will surely hurt ourselves and our country. The loss of jobs will continue (unless the Presidents new jobs initiatives in alternative energy begins to yeild fruit the way the Internet, another government stimulated initiative, fueled growth in the 90s). We believe we have the enemy fingered but we are greviously wrong and we are being had by superior information dissemination of messaging. We will now go on to turn the country backward on Nov 2.

Obama the clown has not seat to save, he has turned against America, it's laws, it's freedom. I want them all to lose, we need to get all of them out and start over. 1. Take just the American laws. The first act of the Attorney General was to dismiss charges against alaska's Ted Stevens - Republican, because they believed the process was not correct regardless of the merit of the charges.

And while you tout keeping American laws you advoate the extra constitutional impeachment of an American President without any resort to law or basis that defiine or govern such action beyond not liking them. Maybe I waste too much time on expecting some intelligence enough to even figure all this out.

Fortunately we are a country of laws and not racist rants and diatribes. There is no basis to impeach President Obama and it won't happen. You can keep deluding yourself with tea party and fox news propaganda but all of your charges are false and without substance. I hope many Americans wake up and stop listening to the false mush peddled by Glenn Beck, Carl Rove and other so-called right wing pundits. They are only selling snake oil and false promises.

They were in charge of the country for 8 years and had both the Congress, Presidency and Supreme Court. Instead of the prosperous America they keep promising, we had a war based on lies, tax cuts that didn't lead to the economic growth and job growth that they continuosly promise and balloning deficits. One day many more Americans will wake up and stop falling for the false promises of the right wing. Sarah Palin, Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh are getting richer by the minute while so many of their supporters are growing poorer. If people listen and follow their ideas, America will only grow weaker with more jobs shipped overseas, a greater percentage of the wealth to the richest 2 or 3 percent and a country with weakened regulations and a country that is essentially a vast wasteland but a carnival for the most predatory corporations and their conseravative supporters.

I agree it is time for America to wake up but open its eyes to the nightmare that the so-called tea party and its legions are preparing for all of us.

Jobs go overseas because economic are better there. They are more business friendly. They don't capriciously tax at every chance and threaten more. They don't over regulate and threaten more. They provide/promise cheap energy, not threaten cap and trade. They don't have the EPA threatening their costs every way it can think of. A shovel ready job is shovel ready. It doesn't take years of red tape, environmental studies, impact studies, permitting, on and on to stick a stupid shovel in the dirt.

Uniform standards? Global governance? Geeez.

Obama's alternative energy jobs yield fruit? Like the 10 US Geothermal jobs created by Obama at a cost of 10.2 million each, or the 86 Brightsource Energy jobs created by Obama at a cost of 15.9 million per job, or the 85 Abengoa jobs created by Obama at 17 million each?

Bob, It is not only the census jobs that is causing the loss in government jobs. Federal, State, and Local governemnt jobs (without census) are also reducing. If we reduced our coporate tax rates to ZERO, no jobs would come back from China. If we all took subsistence wages (just feeding), and removed all our regulations, similarly no jobs would come back, you'd just get more cancers, waste dumping, bad products (lead in children's toys from China) etc. But the difference betweeen our production costs and China's is not 30%. Even our food which would economically be cheaper is not inspite of us exporting food mostly to China because the cost of living is way lower there since the market does not get to set the currency rate. I share J. Richter's sentiment, even though I am not convinced that the House majority will be Republican.

In the case that it is, Rep. Boehner will be speaker. If the House decides to vote for someone ELSE as speaker (and not Cantor either), then I would have less of a problem with it.

Rep. Boehner is the 'old school' politician that is as crooked as they come (J. Richter's post on passing out lobbying cheques is one of those thnigs that we should NOT forget).

We have 47+% of the electorate that wants to finish what we started and 47+% of the electorate that don't. I say it is too close to call at the moment, as I believe the poll data is skewered.

In any case, if we do have a Speaker Boehner, then expect gridlock and NOTHING will be coming through that chamber except subpoenas.

If that is what people want, then they will get it.

healthcare reforms prevent tax dollars for paying ER which would increase the debt, which means the US government cannot raise money. It would prevent people from going bankrupt from not paying their bills and would create jobs in the healthcare sector.

Insurance exchanges would be created where small businesses and individuals without employer-sponsored coverage would be able to shop for coverage. Plans offered on the exchange would have to meet minimum benefit requirements.

The proposed changes would allow dependent children to remain on their parents' health policies until age 26.

Because I'm a Republican, and apparently only because of that, the President has said that I must sit in the back seat. And by this he didn't mean anything racial. He simply communicates to me that I'm second rate.
