Fiorina to be released from hospital

Carly Fiorina's (R) Senate campaign in California just released this statement:

"Since she was admitted to the hospital yesterday morning, Carly has been successfully treated for the infection she had as a result of reconstructive surgery following her victory over breast cancer. This morning, her doctors gave her the good news that she will be released from the hospital today and can resume her busy campaign schedule tomorrow. Carly is grateful for the outpouring of well wishes and prayers from so many Californians. She is excited to get back on the campaign trail and to move forward toward a triumph over Barbara Boxer next Tuesday."

But, Carly can advocate repealing healthcare for women and men with cancer. She can get good news; what a phony, she has no good news for the women and men and without the healthcare she has, Yes, men get breast cancer too.

chilled

She's gonna need more than Tequilla shots" after she discovers she can not and will not beat Barbara Boxer next Tuesday.

Bev, she is the typical hypocritical Repub.....

I've got mine....you'll never have yours ('cause I'll make sure)!

That same old "Compassionate Conservative"---I care, but not a lot.

Cruella F-Uprina cares about no-one but herself. She bought herself 5 corporate jets while she shipped HP jobs to China and India. Then she had the gall to get the Americans to train the people in India and China before she fired them.

Now she is using golden parachute money to buy herself a seat in the U.S. Senate.

It is, of course, inappropriate at minimum to wish Ms. Fiorina ill. Senator Boxer immediately sent a message of good wishes when it was announced her opponent had to be hospitalized.

Reconstructive surgery after breast cancer is challenging, and indeed poses risks for recovery. The small "good" from this incident is that Ms. Fiorina helps call attention to issues related to breast cancer.

That said, she doesn't hold a candle to Senator Barbara Boxer in qualifications or acceptable positions that would serve either the state or the nation.

I agree with that. If in a realization of losing a petty political campaign - as compared to the serious campaign against cancer, she was trying to draw attention to a very serious subject? Then it is noble. However - as you point out - actual political record is what real voters care about especially when the election's outcome will have very real effect on real lives and people. To say that we elect U.S. Senators out of sympathy is not reality- at least in California. Ms. Fiorina will lose in a LANDSLIDE .... and this will have absolutely nothing to do with her health, but rather with her actions in dealing with foreign entities - some totalitarian, to secure labor pools for corporate interests. Nothing is noble about that!

And I see that the compassionate Liberals are at it! Typical response from a Liberal!

That is why I am an Independent! You both sicken the sane people!

Carly...You go girl!! It is way past time to replace Barbara who had done absolutely nothing.

For the comments about health care, just wait to see how much you will pay for your Obama care. Carly will represent the people of California finally.

When anyone mentions the word "Obamacare" I know they have their head up their you know what.

Karen... worry about your own state's election and I'll worry about mine, which happens to be California. And guess what, I have already sent my ballot in and I have voted for Barbara Boxer. Why? because although I am not a huge fan of Barbara Boxer, I looked at the alternative. Cruella F-Uprina has done nothing but nearly sink the HP when she was the CEO. She shipped jobs overseas, bought herself 5 corporate jets, and wire-tapped the board of directors when they were thinking about kicking her out. I can do without someone like that representing me, especially when she is using her golden parachute money to by a seat in the senate. NO THANK YOU.

And check out her history a little deeper. She tanked Lucent Technologies prior to her time at HP. She inflates the value of companies, exists with huge parchutes and the company tanks!

Going for the sympathy vote. I'm sure she will get it from the 30,000 HP employees she laid off.

I think that Fiorina should drop out - We have a lot of problems in California and not only is she inexperieced - she is also sickly and her cancer might come back.

Boxer has been doing a great job - she is experienced and healthy.

I find it interesting how the posts at this site vary depending upon who is ill...

Any time a liberal is ill all of the left-wing lunatics come out to wish them well and a speedy recovery...

But let a conservative fall ill and those same lunatics wish them a painful death and eternal damnation! (Ooops... my bad... the libs that post here don't believe in GOD!)

Hypocrites!

(Well wishes for a speedy recovery Ms. Fiorina)

I disagree I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when her illness was announced that across the political board the majority of people on these comment lines wished her well.

    #7.1 - Wed Oct 27, 2010 3:41 PM EDT

SickOfTheBickering, while I might wish one well in their moment of illness, since Obama took office, Democrats have not had that luxury. Starting with Limbaugh and his ilk, Republicans have done nothing but threaten anyone who does not pass their litmus test. So spare me and everyone else the BS. I don't care if she gets well or not! If you're a Republican, you don't care about anyone but yourself! I saw a defenseless lady get beat by a bunch of Pussies that support Rand Paul, and I'm going to wish these people well. Hell No. I'm going to buy a gun to protect myself from these vigilanties. Sharon Angle said it was time for second amendment remedies if they don't get their way. She may not know what that means, but I think every Liberal needs to own a gun.

Sickofbickering,, Anyone who votes for Fiorina really is sick. Why would anyone vote for someone who has been self serving and used American workers to train workers in other countries so she can put those same Americans in the unemployment line, just to mention one issue and this should be enough. All I've been hearing from the Republicorp Teabaggers is jobs, jobs , jobs but then run candidates who are in favor of outsourcing American jobs. It baffles me where their supporters are from and what kind of employment they have.

Compasionate leftist, what an oxiemoron! There are really only two (2) types of people in this world, there are as follows. (1) Makers, "those are the people that create wealth. and (2) Takers, those are the people that consume wealth. When there are more takers than makers, the gig is up, that is the situation that california finds itself in. so, California "metro, wake up, because the well is dry. Good Luck, but I think, unless you start, looking at how wealth is created, you are in big troule, and luck is not going to carry the day

I'm glad you're better Carly. I hope you have the strength to start working on that resume update that you will need next Wednesday when starting your job search.

But please, don't apply for any CEO jobs. You kind of suck at that. Have you ever considered becoming a librarian?

While I hope she does not win her election, I do hope she recovers, and I hope whatever treatment she received will soon be available to all women in this nation, regardless of income. I would have a lot more respect for her politically if she felt the same way, she does not and that is a shame.

Loving the Anti-Carly sentiment, but do any of the people posting on here actually live in California?

I do, and I am terrified of the prospect of Whitman or Fiorina. We've had to endure Arnold for long enough...let the Republicans stay in the Bible belt.

interesting.... the percentage of bitter posts about laid off HP employees that are being sent by highly affordable HP computers

            Reply#13 - Wed Oct 27, 2010 4:13 PM EDT

My computer isn't an HP and I would hope that I never sink so low as to buy one. That being said, I live in California and agree with the poster who fears for California if either Whitman or Fiorina wins their contests; but I do wish Fiorina well, maybe she will realize that not all women with breast cancer have the wonderful health care plan that she has.

The fact that California is the eighth largest economy in the world is a testiment to its Democratic leadership. Where does your state rank?

And as for Arnold, he is more that a 'name only" Republican. Look at his record.

I wish Carly well and a speedy recovery. Maybe she shouldn't have gone on the "campaign trail" so soon after her surgery. It really takes a lot of time to heal your body. I am not sure when she had her mastectomy but I think it's been within the past year. I may be her political foe, but I am not her enemy.

It does not matter what kind of health coverage you have. A terrible disease like cancer can take you down no matter how much money you have.
