Judge rules write-in list cannot be provided in Alaska

Alaska won't be allowed to provide a list of approved write-in candidates after all.

Earlier we noted:

"The Alaska Division of Elections has come under fire for providing a list of certified write-in candidates to voters at polling places, an unprecedented move that critics suggest was done to aid Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who is running as a write-in," Roll Call reports. "The state Republican and Democratic parties have joined to sue the Division of Elections to force the agency to stop providing the list, the Anchorage Daily News reported Tuesday."

Now AP reports:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska judge blocks elections office from providing list of write-in candidates at polls.

Lisa Murkowski will have to wait for another day to express her revenge. It will happen...someday.

After seeing the interview with her on Rachel Maddow last night, it makes me wonder how far to the right Miller must be if Murkowski wasn't pure enough for the Tea Party. Or is it all about Sarah Palin wanting to run the show there?

I think Murkowski was just barely to the right of Lincoln Chafee, but not by much. Good riddance to her. Miller, if elected, will be just one senator and hopefully a reliable Republican vote. If he's as extreme as you all think he is, he'll be just as likely to vote against his party, which isn't as extreme as you all think it is.

As Bernie Sanders has proven, each party needs a Senator who votes with their party 95% or more of the time.

It's a twisted form of bi-partisanship.

On the other hand, Murkowski will be better than a rubber stamp 100% pure Democrat.

I understand the premise behind this list but am happy the Alaska court ruled this way. Providing a list of certified write-in candidates would be the equivalent of telling voters to select a "certified write-in" instead of the ones on the ballot.

I thought you can write-in whovever you want. Wouldn't they have to give each voter the Alaska phone book?

That list is the AK phone book.
