'All Aboard'... Call it the 'Crazy Train' election

We said in First Thoughts that things are certainly getting crazy one week out. Well, Joe Manchin is taking that literally. His closing ad actually calls opponent John Raese's ideas "crazy."

This isn't the first instance of a Democrat using "crazy" to in reference Sharron Angle. Harry Reid in a Web video mockingly sells Sharron Angle "crazy juice."

Not to mention how much the word "extreme" has been used.

Democrats & other sane Voter's, need to check thier Hurt feelings at the ballot door. Each & everyone Ron typed below are CRAZY in thier Political Veiws.

John Raese's Ad's (i've seen plenty ofem) say nothing about Himself or what his plans are. Nothing, Zilch!

The Folks in WV are very aware of his unending Political adventures. They want NONE of John Raese.

He's tried his best to make the WV Senate election a National Election, with all his ad's saying Obama about 20 times & RubberStamp about half of that.

Joe Manchin will Win this Seat, no worry here.

Well, it's true, John Raese is CRAZY. So is Michele Bachann, Sharron Angle, Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, Glen Beck, Ken Buck, Glen Beck, and Russ Limbaugh. They are simply crazy. They spent a Billion dollars making crazy statements.

Why would anyone vote for a Tea Partier? They are simply crazy.

I keep wondering that myself, why would anyone vote for TP crazy. In any other election, these folks would never have made it past the primary season. I believe that after the election whether the GOP wins or loses, there will be an internal war for the party's future.

I see MSNBC is again discussing the enthusiasm gap between GOP and Dems. I have come to the conclusion that this poll is meaningless because it boils down to a general question without much specificity. What does it really translate to? Could it be dems, when asked, just aren't as excited compared to how they felt in 2008--doesn't mean they won't vote, it just means they aren't as excited, it's been a tough couple years. If dems weren't enthusiastic, the DNC would not be raising record contributions. Meanwhile the TPers are simply in a state of frenzy.

There are degrees of craziness. Bat sh!t crazy is not in the psychiatric nomenclature (DSM4) More like character disorder, borderline personality disorder fits most...with the exception of McCain. Dementia fits best.

Some people will vote for crazy, ill-informed, feckless candidates.

You are absolutely right, the enthusiasm gap is vague and tells us very little. I'm wondering if the Tea Partiers will actually work to get out the vote or just yell real loud and be disruptive, like they did in the town hall meetings. We'll know in a week.

drivey-by: LOL!

Was that Edie Adams who did that commercial? I didn't know that! She was the character in It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World who was married to Sid Caesar; they had to blast their way out of the Hardware Store basement. Evidently when her husband died in a car accident, she took this role to pay the bills.

As Buddy Hacket asked her & Sid when they made it to the park to look for the Big Dubya, he asked - What happened to you? You had the plane! LoL

I adore that movie.

Also, if my Hollywood history is correct, Edie and her husband Ernie Kovacs were the very last guests on I Love Lucy - or -I believe it was called then the Lucy Desi Comedy Hour or something like that. They did the v. last show before the show went off the air and Lucy and Desi ended their marriage.

Palin, Beck, Limbaugh, Bachmann, Angle, O'Donnell, Paul, Buck, Joe Miller here in Alaska, and the rest are not crazy, they are feeding the lowest common denominator of our society exactly what they want to hear. The racist far right babblings are not only Un-American but are indicative of great failures in our educational system. The lies and sick propaganda coming from Fox News supports the ignorance of the ignorant; that segment of the population feels vindicated - "yes, I was right all the time in hating everyone and everything I don't understand!" The candidates and Fox celebrities many of us call "crazy" clearly understand their voting and listening base. They are completely irresponsible and without conscience, but they know how to manipulate their "fans". There are some very responsible Republicans who understand the process and actually debate issues clearly and succinctly; it is unfortunate for our Democracy these are the Republicans most in danger of losing their seats and support.

I hear MCA is going to re release a Patsy Cline album titled 'Crazy'.

Instead of the late Patsy Cline, though, on the cover it will feature a multiple-choice collage of Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Christine O'Donnell and Sarah Palin. Then, instead of the Willie Nelson classic for the title song, it will contain the Disney one that goes "ain't it great to be craaa-zeee?".

Yup. Two years ago, we had a man, a message, a plan. Hope and Change. Yes We Can. We saw a bright shiny future from someone that would "Get things done for the American People". He was a serious candidate, a Senator, a visionary, and uniter. He was a communicator, an intellect, an organizer, a do-er. Never mind that he had never accomplished much before, we all knew he was The One, because he told us so.

Two years later, after everything has fallen apart for the man from Chicago, when the Democrats total control of the government has turned into total failure, when the man from Chicago blames everyone but himself for the countries problems, when the Republicans are poised for historic gains, not for their vision, but for the utter incompetence and failure of the Democrats, we have the "Crazy Train" election.

"Hope and Change" has now morphed into "Crazy Train".

Are the voters also going have a tantrum next Tuesday?

The word extreme has been used, because the far right candidates nominated by the Republicans ARE, by definition, "extreme." Tea Partiers who want to dismantle the Dept of Education, and dismantle Social Security, and repeal laws regulating the health insurance industry, are voicing positions that most Americans do not hold. Buck's assertion that homosexuality is a disease like alcoholism, is extreme, as in, outside the norm.

So now it's extreme to actually want to change the programs that are bankrupting the country? Now it's extreme to want a balanced budget and a smaller government? If so, the country needs a big dose of extreme in Washington DC. All roads lead to Bush for the Democrats.

Democrats have promised change to the African Americans for 50 years. Results: Highest percentage of unemployment, increased poverty rate, increased murder and crime rates, increased out of wedlock births, increased single parent families. And they say it's Bush's fault.

Democrats have promised change to the public school system for the past 50 years, spent billions on "improving" and "reforming" the system. Results: No better scores or education from 50 years ago. A pension system for the teachers that is woefully underfunded. Crumbling inner-city schools. And they say it's Bush's fault.

Democrats want more and more entitlement programs even though the ones we have now are bankrupting the nation. SS is getting to be more of burden to the budget every year, Medicare is failing. The Democrats answer? To have the Mother Of All Entitlement Programs - ObamaCare! And it's Bush's fault.

America though has caught on Libs. Want proof? It's coming.

Fact is the powers that be boxed up the technology and infrastructure required to maintain adequate employment in this country and shipped it overseas to make a quick buck, well they got their quick buck and America got screwed. The progressives can continue to spew their "crazy" rant all they want, there are many people like me out here that don't believe there is anything crazy about wanting a smaller, more Constitutional, government presence in our lives! We don't agree that we are incapable of making our own decisions, or of recovering from our, inevitable missteps, without the "help?" of big brother

We are even capable of benefiting from the lessons taught by democrates. For example, the lesson taught by John Kennedy in the 60's that taxes and the revenue they generate are in inverse proportion to one another! Not to mention we can even learn from socialists like, France, The U.K., et al, that "Free?" health care is the most expensive and lest satisfactory systems!

We will begin the repair work on November 2, sadly it will take untill 2014 to complete the work of removing all progressives, of both parties, from our system!!!

remember this taxpayers --- reagan left 2.8 trillion deficit, clinton left zero deficit, bush left 1.3 trillion deficit and a looming depression over us, obama spends 700billion for tarp/financial reform..in 18 months, all but 50 billion is paid back to government by big banks, leaving only general motors and a few smaller institutions left...it was a HUGE success, saved over 3.3 million in jobs, give President Obama his just due, a co operating house and senate....even Nixon was intelligent enough to want Universal Healthcare for Americans...we can't afford to take chances on failed policy at this point in time...Obama is turning things around and we avoided hitting the iceburg...let's not steer into another one, please.

ACTUALY Bush left a 280 Bil. deficit. The deficits started after 9/11 when gov't revenue fell for the first time. The 280 bil. was down from a much higher one. Mad Macmoud Obama got it up to 1.3 tril. and climbing in one year. JFK would roll over at what the Dems are doing. If he were around today he would be a Republican.

Progressive == socialist. Crazy == racist == any name a liberal can come up with in order to avoid arguing issues. Can't win any other way, so make people like me (Tea party and damned proud of it) out to be anything but the guy living next door to you who actually works for a living and pays the taxes that liberals feed off of.

Hey, come to think of it, paying taxes to be used to subisize lazy socialists *is* kinda crazy... Obama has the right idea! Bring your African auntie over and let her steal from tax payers. That's not crazy; it's just criminal.

For over a year I have been hearing about how Obama is Bankrupting America. How can the American people be so ignorant! Ronald Regan elected to office: National Debt nearly 4 Trillion dollars. He leaves office, ND about 8Trillion. GHW Bush adds nearly 2Trillion. Bill Clinton debt starts going down. Bush Jr. adds nearly 4Trillion. Over 9 Trillion Dollars of Republican debt. Yet, I'm supposed to believe that it's Obama's fault we have over 13 Trillion dollars of debt.

As a former Republican all I can say is that you can fool the American people damn near all the time! Because they wouldn't know a true fact if it smacked them in the face like a steel girder.

                            Very Sad!

TARP! A George H W Bush (Republican) program!

America! A place where you can get both dummer and poorer and still be allowed to vote!

                              Even Sadder!

And another car is added to the 'Crazy Train'.  In Nevada, the attorney for Sharron Angle's  political campaign has sent out an email soliciting contributions "to deploy literally dozens of election law attorneys and poll watchers...at a cost of $80,000" to keep Harry Reid from stealing the election by way of a plot with the Nevada Secretary of State.  What is the plot?  The Sec. of State announced that voters can be provided with "free food" at "voter turnout events."  And HARRY HAS BEEN OFFERING FREE FOOD!!

JP Lake of The Ozarks,Mo. First ever comment posted. I could not read another posting made. Both sides of the debate should put their caps on instead all the bs and finger pointing, and name calling. Let's try and figure out a feasible course. I know if I ran our household like we have been running the Government for the last sixtenn years We would be in BK. These posting do not solve a dam thing. If wecan not come up with a single line item veto,we will be in premanent gridlock for another sixteen or never ending lock. A good bill will stand on its own two feet it does not need bs stuck on it. Be wary of who you elect in local and state elections these men and women will have your futures in there hands. Remember the seperation of church and state. Posted with Luv From the Lake.
