Obama agenda: Go West ... to save the Senate

President Obama will hit the West Coast this week, as well as Las Vegas, Minnesota and Maryland. VP Biden is in Pennsylvania today, campaigning in PA-15, and then heads off to Washington State, San Francisco, Reno, and Maryland.

The New York Times on President and Mrs. Obama’s trip to Ohio to campaign for Gov. Ted Strickland yesterday: “President Obama is seeking to rally anxious Democrats for the final two weeks of the midterm election campaign, traveling to the heart of the electoral battleground to urge them not to be discouraged — ‘Don’t let them tell you that change isn’t possible’ — even as resurgent Republicans continued to expand their sights with the help of deep-pocketed allies.”

More: Speaking at an Ohio State rally on behalf of Gov. Ted Strickland, President Obama “was greeted by a lively crowd -- estimated by OSU officials at 35,000 -- that echoed the enthusiasm that helped propel him to the White House. The White House said Sunday's crowd was the largest Obama had spoken to since his inauguration… he took advantage of having Michelle at his side, reprising the warm banter between the two of them displayed on the 2008 campaign trail. “‘It's fun having her along on this road trip,’ said Obama, who introduced himself as Michelle Obama's husband. ‘Usually I'm all by myself, listening to my iPod. We had a wonderful conversation on the way here, and she was telling me what I should do. It's true. It's true. You think I'm joking. I'm not. I have witnesses.’”

“Terror leader Osama Bin Laden is living it up in Pakistan, not cowering in some cave, a senior NATO official tells CNN,” the New York Daily News recounts. “The report indicates that the founder of Al Qaeda, the organization responsible for multiple terror attacks including those on 9/11, is shacked up in a home somewhere in the northwest region of the country.”

“The President will announce his part on ‘Mythbusters,’ the Discovery Channel's hit science series, during Monday's White House science fair,” The New York Daily News writes. “The President's episode, ‘Archimedes Solar Ray,’ will air Dec. 8, according to the Discovery Channel. In it, Obama will challenge hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman to revisit the controversial claim that ancient Greek scientist and mathematician Archimedes set fire to a fleet of invading Roman ships by using mirrors that reflect the sun's rays.”

'Don't let them tell you that change isn't possible' — For once you are right Mr.President...........change is coming...........change will start on Nov 2, 2010 with the replacement of many of your leftist lemmings.

We will NEUTER IN NOVEMBER !!!!!!!!!

Then we will finish the job in 2012. The Dems are running scared and they certainly should be. They violated the trust of U.S. citizens with passage of Obamacare and Cap and Trade proposal, while acting childish over the Arizona border issue. Oh yes, Mr. President........change most definitely will come !!!

TSSUUUNNNNAAAAAMMMMMMIIIIIII !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Go West ... to save the Senate"

This would be a delaying action - at best.

This year, the Democrats will lose almost half of their seats up for election, vs the Republicans losing none.

In 2012, the Democrats have 23 seats up for election (incl 2 ind), while the Republicans have only 11 to defend.

Perhaps, we have heard, from the president's own mouth, the crux of the problem.

He sits by himself listen g to his iPod.

Does the man not have advisors? Certainly, he has an entourage when he travels. Does he not have a laptop, so that he can work on policies while he travels? We know he is 'addicted' to his blackberry. Does he spend all of his time tweeting his favorite singers?

We have found out what happens when the dog catches the mail truck. He sure does not deliver the mail.

What's the problem? Obama told the Democrats earlier in the year that "This isn't 1994. You have me?" See how lucky they all are? Dumba$$ Democrat comes to mind, but it would be an insult to a dumba$$.

Mythbusters - someone in the media needs to do a Mythbusters article about some of the unbelievable things that voters believeĀ  i.e. that Democrats are wanting to appeal 2 term limit for president, stop talk radio, close the churches, appeal the 2nd Admendment, unionize all busineess...

It is scary that voters in america are so uneducated and believe outrageous items.

I believe in the Republican philosophies that say, "the least amount of government is the best government" and "government should only do for the people that which they can't do for themselves". However, it would actually be deceitful and irresponsible not to recognize that there are real responsibilities that go along with those principals: government must be at least as much government as is needed; government must do for the people that which they can't do for themselves; and within those constraints, government must protect the majority from being exploited by the few. As we have vividly seen with Bush-Cheney and the whole Republican Party, then and now, they not only neglect those responsibilities but they actually condone and encourage pursuit of just the opposite. In reality they have become 'puppets' for Special Interests and the influential, powerful and extremely wealthy few who strongly support them and who 'pull their strings'.

If we should desire to regain the prosperity of the late 90's, then maybe we should accept having the government and the taxes of then too. Today there is a real aggressive con going on with the Republican Party, regular and Tea Party and their supporters who stand to again greatly gain, making every effort to deceive, excite, sway and manipulate public opinion. A whole lot of money, overt and covert efforts and a bunch of excited antics are being expended to influence people's thinking ... and to achieve a return to 'more of the same', which alone is totally scary and should be fair warning.

Take the Tea Party and their candidates, where we see the bazaar, extreme and excited presentations aimed to appeal to people's fears and emotions, always by those with questionable histories and chosen for their ability to get attention and to be controlled 'puppets' rather than for having real qualifications. The scare of run-away socialism that they use is simply an exaggeration as after all of the neglect, irresponsibility and focus on benefit for Special Interests and the select few, the pendulum has actually swung far to the right. Then the reality is that Obama actually inherited the problems and while his efforts to resolve the problems definitely need to be fine-tuned and adjusted, they have none the less been focused on the problems while the Republicans have irresponsibly just criticized and obstructed everything and focused on their political ambitions above all else, without any regard for the cost to the people.

Common sense indicates that it would be ridiculous to expect that those who have fought all change, whose strong supporters want no change, that after they would gain control, repealed all changes and returned to 'more of the same', they would then really work on honestly making the required changes - instead of once again just depending on subterfuge to rationalize and manipulate. No, the deceptive efforts and the arrogant con are readily apparent to anyone who will calmly step back and view everything. If the voters don't do that, if they are not insulted by being taken for granted and treated as 'pawns', then we may just be returned to 'more of the same' that brought this country to it's knees.

Once again, play the fear game, try to paint Republicans and Tea Party candidates as extemist..........and HOPE the fear tactics work !

I guess, when Dems don't want to run on their record, which was mostly AGAINST the will of U.S. citizens, this is all you have left !

What was it that Bob Schieffer said last week about the trumped-up Chamer of Commerce B.S. ? What was it he asked David Axelrod ??

I am a life long democrat and believe it or not, I have no fear of the republicans winning. I figure that they will have to put up or shut up. They have spent 2 years telling us they have ideas, we have seen none of them. Let them win...then everyone will see that they have no ideas. Their win will actually be their loss in the long run. Bring it on I say!
