GOP watch: Boehner's money

“House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) raised $1.9 million in the third quarter for the Boehner for Speaker political action committee, more than tripling the amount collected in the second quarter,” Roll Call reports. “The PAC, a joint effort between Boehner and the National Republican Congressional Committee, had raised a total of nearly $2.5 million as of Sept. 30, according to the latest data from the Federal Election Commission. It reported raising about $570,000 in the second quarter.”

Remember him? “Sen. John Ensign spent $551,000 in legal fees for himself and his aides in the third quarter, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Sunday,” Roll Call notes. “The Nevada Republican raised less than $19,000 for his campaign fund during the period and spent about $700,000 overall, leaving about $280,000 in the bank, the newspaper reported, citing a campaign report filed Friday. Ensign is up for re-election in 2012.”

And remember this bus tour is happening? On Friday, the RNC’s “Fire Pelosi” tour hit Niles, Indiana, the South Bend Tribune reports.

“Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Sunday [on CBS’s Face the Nation] that not only are endangered Democrats not running on healthcare reform, they're running against ‘the Obama takeover of most of society.’”

'the Obama takeover of most of society.'"

Cute sound-bite, Lindsey, but what exactly does it mean? What examples can you (HONESTLY) give?? This repeating of the same old talking points as though they had any real meaning is getting old as hell.

Agreed. Stuff like this is dumber than dumb. It's bad enough these people make money hand over foot as career politicians off of the public and simply say some of the most ridiculous things on the planet (both sides). But even more aggetating is the platform these folks are constantly given every day w/o being called to task about the things they claim.

No one finds truth when the goal is to thoroughly vet the policies and implications of those policies on this Country in a 25 second window before moving on to the next topic.

What in hell is Lindsey blabbing out? Obama's takeover of society - please tell me what President Obama has done that society is being infringed upon. Can they no longer own guns; are they not allowed to assemble and protest - hell, they can show up at events with guns strapped to their waists like it's the Wild Wild West; are they no longer allowed to vote; are they not allowed to buy the car of their choice? What has he taken over?

This is crazy talk - between the President taking rights away to take back my country. These are specious arguments and are intellectually dishonest. Unfortunately, given the economic climate, there are folks who believe this nonsense and will vote accordingly. Well, IF, the Republicans gain majority in either chamber, then they will actually have to govern. That should be interesting. With the likes of Rand Paul, Joe Miller, and Christine O'Donnell, this would be hilarious if it were not for the fact that these people will actually have a say in a matters which they do not seem to grasp.

they won't need to 'grasp' them,...their puppet masters will tell them what to think, how to feel and above all - HOW TO VOTE! Special, no?

Joi and Clare, you two are so misinformed about the process it's just plain idiotic. lets just stick to one one of the biggest items of many where the president is taking our rights away.

I know there can be a huge debate with the obamacare issue, but the fact remains they will be in court for a long time debating this without our help.

In obamacare their intent is tax us for not having insurance and compelling every American to purchase it, hopefully and preferably the government insurance.

The constitutionally of the obamacare is what is in questions and the president doesn't what you think about it. Because if obama did he would have never passed it the way they did.

You can argue with me all day long but it's still in the courts. So your opinion doesn't matter. Just a reminder this is only one. There is to many to mention here.

And this, dear voters, is a fine example of hyperbole!

Let's see who's been there for us! Democrats, who after the last election and arrogantly gloated over their success and proceeded to shove their ideas down everyone's throat and not once heard the voter, yet again, who were pleaded and hoping for moderation and unity as they struggled with job losses and more. The Republicans who like spiteful 2 year olds stood there and pouted and stamped their feet opposing everything, completely ignoring the majority as well and telling the American people that unemployment benefits would bankrupt this country while they've been giving it away for years and not to us. God or whoever had better help the people soon because these idiots are determined to destroy this country pushing idealogy over the well being of the People they serve (or should)

t2910r, I'll wait until you're done throwing your tantrum. You must not be well informed, did you forget the president had control of 60 votes in the house to stop any filibustering the Republicans could have mustard?

But some how the president could get control of his own party who were voting against him. So I wouldn't blame the Republicans.

Only one Democrap out of all who are running for office in this term is runnning on the obamacare policy. That should tell you something, Democrats thought it was a bad idea. It's to late for them now.

Now if the Republicans don't make good on these new policies for the people, I will be with you and vote them out too. But for now I personally want a better change, not what obama is trying to sell me on or ram down my throat.

Correction: It is Niles, Michigan. Niles is just over the Indiana-Michigan state line.
