O'Donnell asked for NRSC support

From NBC’s Shawna Thomas and Carrie Dann
Delaware Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell said Thursday that the National Republican Senatorial Committee is “considering” contributing money to her race -- after she requested its support yesterday -- but that she believes she can win even without the support of the GOP organization.

“I asked them to help us,” said O’Donnell, who met with NRSC Chairman Sen. John Cornyn yesterday. “But I'm confident that even if they don't, we are building coalitions and a strong grassroots campaign and rising in the polls and doing what we need to do to win.”

“The more people working to win towards victory on November 2nd, the better,” she told NBC News. “But if they don’t, I'm still confident that we can win.”

As First Read pointed out this morning, races like O’Donnell’s (and the difficult-to-poll Alaska Senate contest) are receiving enormous national attention because of their respective spoof-able moments and linkage to the Palin family. But it’s worth pointing out that there are some much closer statewide races that are receiving little national press.

According to poll averages computed by RealClearPolitics, O’Donnell is down by 16 points against Democrat Chris Coons.

That margin is equal to the COMBINED total poll differentials in three close Senate races (Colorado – 4.4 points, Washington – 3.3 points, and Illinois – 1.2 points) plus two tight gubernatorial contests (Florida – 2.9 points and Ohio – 4.2 points).

I am a Conservative/Libertarian/Independent leaning person and I find this Woman's presence offensive. She is simply an attention seeking narcissist who keeps running and running for an office, mostly because she can find enough other types to work on her campaigns or make contributions.

In the absence of our current turmoils she, and Palin for that matter, would be rightfully ignored and have no sway on anything. I hope in a post-Obama World we can return to at least a semblance of reality and these opportunists (I include Pelosi, Ried, Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Matthews, Olbermann and a lot of other haranguers and shills in this class) can return to their richly deserved obscurity!

No seriously, Monty Python jokes aside, I find it fascinating that these Tea Party candidates can't stand the "status quo" - then when they win primaries, want help from... the status quo.

Pass the freaking popcorn. Want to know who the "Blue Dogs" of the Republican caucus will be? Look no further than the "Tea Party candidate" label. Sure to give fits to people like Boehner and McConnell.

Delaware voters will be deciding who their representative in Washington D.C. will be. But Christine O'Donnell makes no sense. Why is her entire candidacy wrapped up in an ad that says "I am not a witch"? Usually a candidate would cite something out of a resume -- a past experience, a particular skill, something on record -- that shows why he or she would be good as a representative for the people. Christine O'Donnell says that she is the victim of "character assassination" -- all she has to do is go public, go before the cameras, talk about which issues she will work for on behalf of the state. It might be good if she can show that she knows what representatives do, and if she shows that she can stand on her own two feet without a fleet of men in suits to shelter her from the media.

Everybody is talking about these candidates none of them are concerned what is going on there trying to get into office because they know that if they get to Washington that that's the end of the rainbow and the  pot of gold. No one is going to spend 100 million dollars to get a seat that pays $174,000 a year unless they have something to gain. I have been reading about all the corruption in today's government that were going back to rich and poor were the rich will be the master and we will be in slaved working and buying at the company store. Now my question is do you think we as American citizens  ought to rise up somehow and tell them that enough is enough. The last time I read anything its all about we the people not R,D,I's its the people of this country not big business and big money, but they have bought the USA and we set back and listen to all the lies that are being told and it seem like the bigger the lie the more people listen.  So I would like some input on just how we ought to take back our country because are rep's. are not listening there just taking the big checks and laughing all the way to the bank, so if you would I really would like to see what kind of movement you think would make them set up and listen or just start making the votes ourselves and let the people make the decision's not the corrupt politicians. I know there's probably a million ways to do this but I'm just a retired electrician who worked 45 years for what i have and now would like to do something to  try to take control of this so lets sound off . Thanks
