Bachmann's Pelosi alcohol charge

NBC's Kelly O'Donnell reports: Michelle Bachmann at the Values Voters Summit said:

"...or like Speaker Pelosi, who has been busy, uh, sticking the taxpayer with her $100,000 bar tab for alcohol on the military jets that she's flying...."

Senior Pelosi aides immediately reached out to refute Bachmann's assertion as totally false:

“Speaker Pelosi does not drink alcohol. There is no alcohol service on the domestic flights the Air Force operates for travel from Washington to San Francisco for the speaker."

Quick, fast, and in a hurry!!!!! Michelle Bauchman is a lunatic of the first order. This dingbat will say anything that wanders into her head, seeing that's there's plenty of empty space, and blurt it out. I'm sure that she's embarassed her family on many, many occasions. These are the types of people that the gop is fielding in their hunt to regain political power? No wonder that they are experiencing a civil war within their ranks. The establishment members are being out lied and out crazied by the monster that they created, the teabaggers. I'll bet that Mitch McConnell isn't grinning now that the tables have been turned on them. Rush Limburger is now the leader of the gop without a doubt. Even Karl Rove was made to heel and he was their lie meister and king maker just a few news cycles ago.

So this is basically proof that mainstream Republicans will say and lie about anything if it serves their party and their individual chances of getting re-elected, right?

Didn't I see a bunch of hard-line conservatives screaming about how Islam is evil because it condones lying and distorting the truth provided one does so for the sake of advancing Islam?

Christ, the hypocrisy coming out of the loudest members of the far right is so thick you'd need a 12-inch bore and 30 weeks to drill through it.

If what Pelosi says is true and can be documented then where has she been for a year or more. Sean Hannity repeats this line almost daily on his show. He's never asked to prove anything. A lie repeated often enough becomes the truth. Vince Foster dieing was the best thing that ever happened to the GOP - it proved them that they can create alternate universes and make the electorate live there. They even made Democrats blieve in WMD's. They must also be the power behind the boogey man - someone I've never seen, either.

I think Speaker Pelosi has been a bit to busy with her job as a legislator and tring to herd Democrats (it's like trying to herd cats) to vote for our welfare. She doesn't have time to deal with or expose fools, they do that quite well on their own.

Boy, every time I think the right wing nuts cannot slip further away from reality, they manage to do it. Like Limbaugh repeating a bunch of lies about a sitting judge on his radio show that was found on Wikipedia. They don't verify a thing, whatever fits the story line they want to present, they run with it. Bachmann owes the Speaker an apology, which the Speaker will never get because Bachmann can never admit that her hamster slid off the wheel years ago. For such a good "Christian" she sure has an aversion to truth telling. Isn't she constantly breaking one of the Ten Commandments? Or are those just for the "little people".

From CBS News, January 25th 2010, on Pelosi's Copenhagen climate summit junket:

"Total hotel, meeting rooms and 'a couple' of $1000-a-night hospitality suites topped $400,000.

Flights weren't cheap, either. Fifty-nine House and Senate staff flew commercial during the Copenhagen rush. They paid government rates-$5-10,000 each-totaling $408,064. Add three military jets-$168,351 just for flight time-and the bill tops $1.1 million dollars-not including all the Obama administration officials who attended: well over 60."

And;

"...considering the size of the deficit, and the fact that no global deal would be reached-critics question the super-sized U.S.delegation-more than 165-leaving the impression there's dollars to burn. In this case, more than a million."

Not sure what was spent on booze, though...

Why should anyone believe Michelle Bachman. However, Speaker Pelosi should show proof that no alcohol is served on Air Force flights - should be easy enough. Then see if Bachman has the decency to apologize. The GOP is getting more and more outrageous. It is a shame though that a person has to answer to stupidty - but it seems one must in this political climate. Say whatever you like whether it's true or not. Values Summit by behind.

I wonder why these right-wing "love-to-claim-loudly-they're-Christian" liars do so well breaking the "Thou shalt not bear false witness" directive. False prophets or just warped sociopaths?

I believe in freedom of speech - but would support criminal or civil charges for politicians who intentially lie and deceive their constituencies to get elected. Of course, Republicans would filibuster that . . . -sigh-

I wish every voter in the country could read this statement by Michelle Bachmann and ask themself why anyone would impugn the integrity of someone who has served her nation as Nancy Pelosi has. You can agree or disagree with Ms. Pelosi's policies, but she has worked hard for the American people and deserves better than to be lied about. Especially a stupid lie that can be easily disproved.

integrity? are you serious? she hasn't worked hard for me, and i would be in that group of 'the american people'. all she does is try to pass unconstitutional legislation (health care) and further entitlements for those who don't carry their weight. that's not integrity, that's stealing from my family. wsj this week reported how half of the households in this country now receive some sort of government aid. and pelosi wants to give more. you liberals are ridiculous and out of touch with people who actually work for a living. looking forward to you not being in power. then in 2012, anyone else in the white house will be an improvement.

getting your news and info from olbermann and maddow is no better than people who get their info from rush or fox news btw. they are as tilted left just as much as the others are tilted right. please use your brains for a change.

"Bachmann's financial disclosure forms indicate that her personal stake in the family farm is worth up to $250,000. They also show that she has been earning income from the farm business, and that the income grew in just a few years from $2,000 to as much as $50,000 for 2008. This has provided her with a second government-subsidized income to go with her job as a government-paid congresswoman who makes $174,000 per year (in addition to having top-notch government medical benefits).

He's a golfer and a drinker. Who does nothing. People tried to get away with saying Dean Martin was an alcoholic. He wasn't. He did movies, Vegas, records, plus his own tv show. He couldn't have been that successful if all he did was drink like what was said.

Boehner CAN drink and DOES drink alot, because he doesn't work. He has the time. Nancy doesn't.

WorldNetDaily said that Pelosi spent more than $100,000 for "food [and] booze." That’s false. The total includes expenses other than "food and booze," though it’s certainly true that international CODELs routinely show receipts for hundreds of dollars worth of top-shelf alcohol — brands like Maker’s Mark, Courvoisier, Grey Goose and Bombay Sapphire. Pelosi herself does not drink alcohol, her staff told us, but she’s not the only member of Congress on these trips. The ones who do drink are well-supplied
