NRSC, Cornyn back O'Donnell

It comes the day after, but National Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman John Cornyn has issued a statement endorsing Christine O'Donnell (R) after her victory last night.

Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee’s chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O’Donnell in Delaware.

I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.

We remain committed to holding Democrat nominee New Castle County Executive Chris Coons accountable this November, as we inform voters about his record of driving his county to the brink of bankruptcy and supporting his party’s reckless spending policies in Washington.

In the weeks ahead, we will decide where to best allocate additional financial resources among the large number of competitive races at stake this November. While it’s not in Republicans’ interest to advertise our spending strategy to our opponents, it’s worth noting that just yesterday, the NRSC’s first independent expenditure ad aired in support of Dr. Rand Paul’s campaign in Kentucky, where we firmly believe that he will win in November.

    Dangerfield

This is your party candidate again I might say, for Senate for the great state of Delaware. This is what they need to make palatable to the people of Delaware. Its a closed primary in Delaware and this is what the Repubs chose. As stated, they now need to make her palatable to the state as a whole. Much like they are trying w/ Sharon Angle in NV, who by the way just renege on a debate she challenge Harry Reid to. The Repubs have made their beds now, Angle, McDonnell, and now the nutjob running for Governor of New York Palandino, they have to cosy up to these people and make them presentable.

    Good luck w/ that

This is truly disturbing from Ms. O'Donnell. She is not dealing in reality.

Update Think Progress: Political Correction notes that, in 2008, O'Donnell appeared on Fox News and argued that Obama "is so liberal that he's anti-American."

Now I wonder where she heard that?Australian Rupert Murdock. What an unbelievable creep he is for allowing this nonsense on his station for all these years. All to make money.

This country is running out of people with integrity. Money and religion are the reasons, of course. They are usually the only reasons. And bigotry.

This is why there are more and more independent voters -- people who refuse to be part of a party. What, exactly does the Republican party stand for here? What do Ms. O'Donnell and John Cornyn share as values? Is there any litmus test for any party as to what members should stand for?

Were the folks at the NRSC holding their noses when they sent that statement?

In less than 24 hours, Cornyn and the NRSC changed their mind about sending $$ to what they know is a flawed candidate.

But of course, nothing new about that, since Repubs worship at the altar of ignorance.

The money their sending is probably all the money she'll ever see from them. They have their hands full w/ Angle and now Paladino in NY

My biggest fear is that should the Republicans take over Congress, and the economy eventually improves, in 2012 they will say, it was because they were in controll of congress for 2 years, and that the trailer park IQ level people in this country will actually believe them!

Additionally, patHuntington, the TeaParty Congress will pick up and dust off all the bills that are languishing in each house (especially the Senate), change to their liking and claim victory. The only victory will be for the rich who put them in office.

The economy will improve because all the rich corporate republicans will start hiring then. That was their strategy with the "nope" plan. Drag the economy over the cliff. Obstruct, Obstruct, and Obstruct then relent to capture power for credit. That way they get to go to the White House.

Are you suggesting that Big Business has been holding jobs hostage to get folks to vote Republican? Why would they do that? This is Big Business and they always do what's best for us regardless of who is in office, don't they?

I guess Cornyn was Mitch slapped this morning? Gotta' love Karl Rove's blunt honesty over at Fox. I bet he's wishing that mic hadn't been open.

And Buchanan was happy his Viagra expense this month will be 'down'. I loved watching Joe Scarborough's head explode this morning.

Good day to be a Dem!

The thing that so many people miss in all this turmoil is that voters are angry. The repubs voters are letting the esablishment know via their tea party votes and the dems by staying home.

In November it will boil down to who gets the vote out and how indies will swing.

Right now the dems are in deep trouble because they don't seem to be able to make up their minds about what to run on.

Your right in the the Repubs or conservative are very angry at the establishment and voting in people w/ that anger. Your also right in that the Dems don't have too happy w/ happening right. But if the Dems market the message appropriately and get the base out to vote because it will be framed this is the alternative. I think the Repubs may be in for a shcok in November because their going to have a choice, the Dem thay hate or the Scary conservative that says alls sorts of thing including getting rid of Social Security, Medicare and a host of other programs and Depts. Thats when the choice will be made. I tend to think, better the devil you know than the one you don't.
