They are counting votes in Alaska today. The Elections Divisions is updating results all day, and as of 5:00 pm ET, Joe Miller's lead over incumbent Lisa Murkowski had narrowed slightly.

Miller began the day with a 1,668-vote lead. But the latest results show the margin now down to 1,460 votes.

A total of about 5,300 votes have been added to the totals today, with more to come.

After today, there will be two more days of counting -- on Friday Sept. 3 and Wednesday Sept. 8, when a final count will be released. Results are to be certified on Sept. 17.

If Miller wins he should be good for the economy in Alaska. I like the way he was talking about it. I just hope he will be willing to work with the Democrats to help the economy in other States to.

The country needs both parties to work together better!!!

How do you figure he'll be good for Alaska's economy when he sends the Gravy Train out of town?

Hardworking taxpayer's money is confiscated for thisĀ "Gravy Train".

Soon to be Republican Senator Miller has rightly said, enough with the Gravy Train.

Two words unknown to liberal moonbats: "private sector".

Well, considering it was Republicans who saw fit to bring the Gravy Train into town I think the ghost of Ted Stevens is gonna be pretty pissed.

Maybe this is why Mama Grizzly quit her job...because she didn't want to be the unpopular governor of the state when all her precious federal funding dried up.
