The midterms: Another ex-WWE wrestler dies

“Republicans lead by 51% to 41% among registered voters in Gallup weekly tracking of 2010 congressional voting preferences,” Gallup reports. “The 10-percentage-point lead is the GOP's largest so far this year and is its largest in Gallup's history of tracking the midterm generic ballot for Congress.”

CONNECTICUT: “Two weeks to the day after a former wrestler died at the age of 29, another one of GOP Senate nominee Linda McMahon's former stars [Gertrude ‘Luna’ Vachon] -- who the company acknowledges it sent to rehab for substance abuse last year -- was found dead Friday,” the Danbury News Times writes.

ILLINOIS: “Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias plans to challenge the budget record of the Republican Party, including rival candidate Mark Kirk,” the AP writes. “The Chicago Democrat is scheduled to deliver a speech Tuesday where he'll blast Republicans for overspending during the last Bush administration and leaving the country with a huge deficit.”

NEVADA: “Some of the most powerful figures in Northern Nevada are hosting a fundraiser for GOP gubernatorial hopeful Brian Sandoval at some private suites in the Eldorado,” the Las Vegas Sun’s Ralston reports.

TEXAS: Democratic gubernatorial nominee Bill White hits Gov. Rick Perry for hosting a fundaiser hosted mostly by registered lobbyists (hat tip: Hotline).

All I have to say is if the Republicans are put back in office just remember to cancel all vacation plans for next year and many years to come since gas will be $4.00 or $5.00 per gallon.

Going to the supermarket will be very expensive.

Isn't this what the GOP wants???? According to my calculations it is!!!!!

So have fun staying home and watching the wealthy go on vacation!!!!

When will Congress investigatge the illegal steroid abuse in the WWE? When will Congress chrage the slimy McMahon's with murder for so many wrestler death's? Pro wrestling has gone downhill the last few decades and only the dumbest of the dumb watch it now. Only the most ignorant voters will vote for Lizard Linda.

Actually, that already happened. Vince McMahon was put on trial in 1993 accused of distributing steroids to his wrestlers. It was as a result of the trial that Linda McMahon was made CEO of the company.

Ummm..... Steroids aren't illegal.... Besides don't you think congress should focus on things that actually matter like the economy, health care legislation that works and makes sense, reform for congress and the govt process as a whole....

Just like democrat to focus on destroying the opposition rather than what really matters to Americans.

This is the worst written article I have read today. The title about an ex WWE(F) wrestler dying yet the majority of the article is tidbits spanning 4 corners of the US that dont seem to tie in to anything. Whoever wrote this please stop posting articles. I'd suggest classes but this is beyond what classes can teach or fix.

Gosh, Eric, I must have missed your rant on Congress taking up substance abuse in Hollywood. Maybe if there was one republican in that city you would be as concerned about their welfare too.

I have not commented on here now for almost a month. Just check in every day to read the same old libs spouting the same old hate and contempt.

I thought the libs preached tolerance? They are always claiming someone is racist or a bigot, but then are always raging on old white people.......?

Never in my adult life have I been witness to so much name calling, hypocritical, whine ass crybabies. Yes the dems are going down in Nov. You can count on it. They know it too. You can tell by how hateful they are.

OK Barac. You can stop using Joe as your pen name now. We know it's you. And BTW, no one isbuying your lame argument /slogans anymore. First, the Repubs have not been in charge of Congress for almost 4 years now. Second, the massive debt you have created with your huge government spending programs far out rivals any damage done by the Repubs when they were in charge, Third, if you think you are going to convince voterst o continue with your team by arguing that the otrher side messed up, so we can make it worse, you better think again. The voters are rejecting your agenda on all fronts. Obamacare, "stimulus" deficit spending, immigration/amnesty, failing to secure our borders, cap and trade, plan to increase taxes, etc..., etc.. Even your own party members are jumping ship, as is evident by their campaign ads where they intentionally try to distance themselves from you and the party leadership in an attempt to save their jobs. It's no wonder the Gallup poll is showing a record gap. No one is buying your pablum any longer. Our new slogan for you is "Yes we can and Yes we will" throw you and your hacks out of office if you don't start doing what we want and is good for the country instead of what you want.

Dude, what are you talking about...ur dummazzz was going to try to throw them out of office even if he delivered bread and wine to feed you the entire country at once....

It's funny that red states complain about spending, while they in fact get the most of the entitlement program.... look at that fool from NJ (Gov christie) complaining that the gov spends too much money, now he has to fire his education chief because he didn't get enough money from the feds.... speak out of my mouth one way and the next day say the opposite....

You know what dummazzz, I'm sure the people will vote for repugs in december... it's just because they know not what they do.... led to the slaughter by money hungry fools (Limpballz, Pailing, and Beckstard)....

I like Obama, but I'm sometimes critical of his methods or ways.... the republicans in power are just being disingenuous to its base.

Just like the WWE, the republican party is just a fake. They talk family values, than they embrace the likes of Newt, Rove, Palin and Angle. I don't consider any of them Americans. They are self serving world citizens. They would screw the world for what they want. When you vote for republicans, your voting for the end of the american dream. Today I heard Laura Ingram laughing about the crowd of people in Florida, trying to save their homes from forclosure. Her advice, get a job. Now where would you find one of those. That's the difference between the dems and republicans. The dems want to help. The republicans want you to just go away.

Well I see how stupid the American people really are...yep the great repubs...turning down the small businness pkg. when during the campaign for president that is all they talked about...how small business is the backbone of this country....but now they will vote no to further their political gain...then in November when they take over they will pass the bill and take the credit for job increase. How disgusting. What is even more disgusting is that the american people are stupid enough not to see this. The dems better wake up and get energized to vote in November otherwise the repubs will ruin this country again. All they are saying is that when they take over the house they are going to do investigations on the Obama admin....how nice...the economy is faltering...and they will spend precious time on more games to make Obama look bad...these repubs dont give one hoot about middle class america...all they care about is getting back the house and doing their favors for the rich....WAKE up America......it will be the same ole crap all over again. And you elderly...look out...social security and medicare will be gone.....what do they care...they have insurance and a pension for the rest of their life when they retire. I cant believe American has fallen for their crap....this country sickens me also.

Tell me sweet Kevin-500221 what are the repubicans doing fo ryou, because that are not jdoing a damn thing for me other than giving me a bad head ache. I will tell what the Republicans did for me. Not a @!$%#ing thing. I will also tell you what the Democrats did for me. Again, not a @!$%#ing thing. Both parties are nothing but a bunch of money hungry power grabbers. Do you seriously thing they care about you or me. I do hope you are not that stupid.

All this being said I will say that when Bush was in office I was making over $125k a year. Now I am barely making $50k a year. Can I blame one president or another for this? Hell no, I can blame politicians. They are all the same. Some are just better at fooling people than others. If you think one president is different than another you are being fooled. They do not run this country. Big banking runs this country. They are simply puppets.

What kind of irresponsible garbage is this story about a former wrestler dying from substance abuse? Is the writer implying that the WWE caused her death? Maybe I read the story wrong, but didn't it say that the "E" had sent her to rehab? Are they supposed to also hold her hand all the way through it? What's that old cliche about "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink"? Isn't this blame game getting just a little bit old? Just one more thing: Are you so hard up for news that you have to recycle stories from three years ago?

isn't the gallup poll,a right wing faction of the rescumblican party, now why should the american people believe that less than 47% are for dem seats in the senate, tell a lie long enough and it becomes truth, please someone set me straight om this cause i'm,how do you say bamboozled by the gallup thing, thank you.

Well... if you weren't such an idiot, you would have noticed that this article was from August 2010. Worried much, libbie? Midterm elections aren't until next year, and you're already freaking out. Maybe you should be worried though. That 41% for the Democrats is going to look stellar compared to what it's going to be. A lot of America may have gone retarded once again by re-electing Obama, but people are starting to see what scumbags he and a lot of the Dems in Congress are. Since the election, a lot of them have shown their true, socialist colors, and a ton of people are genuinely PO'ed.

I used to vote republican, but you can only pinch your nose and vote for them so much. The rich get richer and are coddled by the politicians. The working middle-class works more hours and see their hourly wage go down. Throw the middle-class a bone. Close the Million and Billionaire Loopholes.
