Fewer Jobs, Larger Deficits if Republicans Were in Charge

Deja vu!

Newsweek notes that nothing is apparently more important to Republican politicians these days than jobs and the budget deficit,

but there's a problem with their message:

"So far, the things that Republicans have said they want to do won't actually boost employment or

reduce deficits.

In fact, much the opposite. By combing through a variety of studies and projections from nonpartisan economic sources, we here at Gaggle headquarters have found that

if Republicans were in charge from January 2009 onward -- and

if Republicans were now given carte blanche to enact the proposals they want to

the projected 2010-2020 deficits would be larger than they are under Obama,

and fewer people would probably be employed."

Effectively Summarizes the “Just Say No” Bunch!

June, what happens in your head isn't reality for anyone else. They don't even know about it till you write some subjective drivil like that. Here's another one for ya. If a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his arse when he jumped. Or another, mental masturbation. If this or that happened we would be worse off. You or anyone else does not know that. What I do know is I don't want things to get worse and the direction we are going in will take us there. Get over your hatred of partys and look around.

My guess is that a "non-partisan economic source" for June is the one she favors to support her positions.

June, the problem is we Americans have a tendency to shoot our collective foot. How many are aware of the Murdock/Koch conspiracy against the American people.

We don't like one direction so we run like little sheep being herded by the next huckster promising the opposite direction. Then when this huckster gets done paying off his constituents and special interests things are worse than before. So we are herded back to another huckster who is promising the opposite and things get worse again. 1955...., one middle class earner could support a family of 4 children with one job, paying income tax, owning a house and free of debt except his house payment. 2010.... 2 middle class earners have a hard time raising 4 children without paying income tax, heavily indebted besides the house payment and needing other gov subsidized assistance. Health care for one. What's the common denominator? These difficulties grew as the size of the fed gov grew. Welcome to the future. Don't you ever wonder just a little just who is really yanking your chain?

Dang, got me off track. All I was going to write is I hope he stays!!!!

Uh i think the common denominator(s) is inflation, exchange rates, and the globalization of the economy over a period of 60 years. Not "how big the government grew" lol.

Here is an interesting tidbit from an article about 5 cent Coca Cola

If wages can't fall in a recession, then people will lose their jobs instead. If the price of a car or a restaurant meal can't fall when demand does, sales will collapse with much the same effect.

I believe that is why so many are out of a job. All the reasons above could be adapted to by small and midsize business if without gov interference.
