GOP watch: Beck blasts Obama over his religion

AP

“Conservative commentator Glenn Beck voiced sharper criticism of President Obama's religious beliefs on Sunday than he and other speakers offered from the podium of the rally Beck organized at the Lincoln Memorial a day earlier,” the Washington Post writes. “During an interview on ‘Fox News Sunday,’ which was filmed after Saturday's rally, Beck claimed that Obama ‘is a guy who understands the world through liberation theology, which is oppressor-and-victim.’ ‘People aren't recognizing his version of Christianity,’ Beck added.”

Beck and Sarah Palin “won't be teaming up on a presidential ticket in 2012, the talk show host said Sunday, after their combined star power drew thousands to the National Mall this weekend. ‘Not a chance,’ Beck said on ‘Fox News Sunday,’ on the network that broadcasts the radio and TV host's popular daily show. ‘I have no desire to be president of the United States. Zero desire. I don't think that I would be electable.’”

I agree with Glenn Beck. It's time to re-define Christianity.

If it's not Conservative it's not Christian-Right.

To HELL with Glenn Beck, and Sarah Palin, because that is where both of them will wind up in.

It is a sad day in America when a snake oil salesmen like Beck commands so much attention.

Glenn Beck belongs to the Church of "Bear False Witness" otherwise known as the Mormons.

Look how Mormons used their tax-priviledged status (including tax privileges from gay taxpayers) to fund an overtly political campaign against those same taxpayers via Prop 8 in California. What happened to prayer, good works, service to the poor and humility? Yeah, right--Jesus Christ would not recognize this church today. And I'm sure JC would have very strong words for Beck, who used not a cent of his own Goldline-scammed millions on his stated cause of helping military families.

Yep, Beck seems to be another of "America's Christless Christians" -- wonder why this fat camel won't get through the eye of a needle?

          Coolhand,

I hate to break it to you; but Sarah Palin is NOT the Speaker of the House. She does not even hold elected office since she quit her day job over a year ago. Again, sorry to break it to you. I do recommend keeping up, though. Things change very quickly in politics and today's 'it' girl can just as easily be tomorrow's sh!t girl. Just sayin'.

Yes, Coolhand, I have a very particular 'brand' of sarcasm and I was 'funnin' with ya' first! Glad I made you smile, though. We may not agree about politics; but at least we both have a 'bend' in our sense of humor. PS. I just showed you mine,...now show me yours.

Be happy to, I'm a Christian so I'm a social conservative and I'm educated so I'm a economic conservative and Republican. Are you still smiling?

I read your page so I'm not sure that we can be seen in public together. I haven't liked the choices for president since Reagan of who I voted for twice. I dislike career politicians and most anything that comes out of IL or CA or the Kennedy states.

I retired from the US Navy with 24 years last year and served on submarines, the fast-attack kind and I point that out because there is a difference. I have lived in several east coast states and 10 years in HI and have traveled 3/4 of the world and have seen Socialized medicine and talked to socialist who pay over 50% in taxes so they can have free substandard medical and education for everyone. Norway is one of those, and their people have few choices in life.

I am a born and raised Texan who spent almost half my life living in some other place for reasons listed above but have returned home.

I have friends on all sides of the fences as the military breeds open-mindedness at least in some. Oh and I'm a Longhorn and Cowboy fan, Duh...

                Well, here I stand,,,

You are right, we can't be seen in public! ha and I voted for Reagan, also. Then woke up from my coma! Actually voted for Bush, Sr. and Ross Perot,...It was all over with but the cryin' after that. I was not a huge fan of Bill Clinton; but it is hard pressed to refute the skill with which he governed. I will forever believe that Florida 2000 was rigged. If W hadn't been so inept, we wouldn't be where we are today. Not sure how much longer we'll be in the same division; but I gotta' go with the Sooners first, then Mizzou and hook some horns next. NO WAY NEVER WAS A COWBOY fan, although knew someone who knew Aiken and thought he was an all right QB. I love me some Chiefs football because I don't care where you've been in the nation, there is NO TAILGATE PARTY IN THE COUNTRY BETTER THAN ARROWHEAD, and I've seen them in MANY stadiums, nothing compares to a home game here!

Thanks for funning with me. We'll just have to keep this on the down low,...have a great day!

Whatever happened to the idea of what made America great, was the separatiion of church and state.

When we separated the church from the state we started going down hill. The church never really was part of government. It was just that a few in society did not want to be held to any type of right or wrong system. Those who felt entitled or just above being judged by society and so they complained and the liberals in our society got their turn and unjustly decided that our country was above holding our citizens accountable for their actions and teaching them ethics or morals at any level. So that is where we are, anyone can believe anything they want and crime and unemployment are rampant and we are truly a country divided. So Walter whether you are an atheist, Christian, or Muslim like your obama, it is your right to hate, be stupid, and not have a sense of right or wrong.

                          #33.1 - Mon Aug 30, 2010 4:37 PM EDT

It's not the separation of church and state that start problems in this country, it is the majority white elitist males who've had a hard-on for reclaiming the country. The people, like Glenn Beck, who get all sweaty and paranoid every time a new "group" aquires the same rights they should have had all along who spread fear and hate are what's wrong with this country...as well as those claiming Christianity but practicing nothing but intolerance.

Becks (theater owner) words are the equivalent of yelling fire in a crowded theater. As everyone runs to the exits, trampling each other, he's laughing counting his money the whole time. He just loves the attention and doesn't care who gets injured or dies. He's got paid for the full theater without putting on the featured act. Line up the next crowd and take their money!

Painting the opposition as the demonizers and themselves and their party as the patriots and do gooders. They are the destroyers and monsters who are slowly taking our nation apart destroying the very foundation of this great country. The truth will prevail and the 2012 elections will reveal who the people believe.

Beck is a Paranoid Narcissist and his mental disease is starting to catch up with him. He still has the same mental disease that almost killed him a decade ago, he is just using a new drug. His ego is feeding on notoriety and he wants, not to just be admired, but worshipped by his followers. This so-called Rally was to say to the world "See I am better than even Martin Luther King" and this is my declaration that "I am a great American and to be idolized". His public statements will become more and more bizarre. The day following the rally he implied that the President of the United States follows a "demonic" religion. This is just the beginning of making up his own divergent reality, a reality that will eventually destroy him.

Beck acts and talks just like a coke freak with delusions of grandeur. It is too bad so many innocent people are bring taken in by this nut case. Carefully dissect everything he says and you will soon see how crazy he really is. Carefully examine what he identifys as problems, most are not really problems at all except in his twisted imagination. Carefully examine what he offers as solutions, most are some magical ideological solution with no practical basis in reality, or would be impossible to implement. The only place for him to go for solutions is ideology and religion because he really has no answers, and in his heart he knows that. In the next phase of his ego development he will claim that what he says is divinely ordained by the one and only one true God, and that he, and he alone , as been chosen to deliver the message.

Then what follows is usually something truely bizarre, like he'll be caught in a closet with a 14 year old or something. When caught he will claim that he is exempt from low human law and is authorized by the all mighty to follow his own law. Familiar?? It should be!

Great post. Beck has finally told some truth , he is not electable. Now his views on Christianity highly debatable on his understanding of Jesus views on social issues. So how does he know what the Prez views of his beliefs are, now that is one big guess when most of people views of faith are private.

2 Cor 11:12 But I will continue doing what I have always done. This will undercut those who are looking for an opportunity to boast that their work is just like ours. 13 These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve.

Glen Beck has a messiah complex and is disguising himself as an angel of light. He recently said on his show that he does not commit sin and only Jesus could make that claim. In addition, a couple of days after the event what happened to the unity? Clearly he is not a theologian. We know the president came to an altar 20 years ago and said he believed that Jesus died on the cross for his sins and was resurrected, repented of his sins and was baptized. Only God knows the sincerity of his confession. When Glen Beck or any human feels they have the authority to judge a person's heart they will get into trouble with God. His main objective is to hurt the President at any cost. Have we ever seen a TV personality that can get away with calling the President of the United States a racist, who has a perverted view of Christianity?

Furthermore, he has also said that if your church preaches social justice you should leave. This is striking because Beck is a Mormon and many don't believe they are Christians.

I watched him today on his show and I saw an arrogant and prideful man and the last thing to come to mind is a true follower of Christ.

Mark it down God will not be mocked and Mr. Beck’s fall from grace with be very public and horrific.
