Blago almost beats the whole rap

“Blago almost beat it all!” the AP notes. And is this really vindication? “Three jurors indicated that Blago had nearly been nailed on trying to peddle the Senate seat. Jury foreman James Matsumoto told the Chicago Tribune that at one point, the panel had been unanimous in favor of convicting Blagojevich of the rap [No. 14, attempted extortion]. But one juror changed her mind after reviewing testimony Monday and wouldn't budge afterward, he said. Another juror, Erik Sarnello, said the female holdout ‘just didn't see what we all saw.’” The same juror also criticized the prosecution’s case. "It confused people," he said. "They didn't follow a timeline. They jumped around."

If that's all they have to say about the matter, then that's not sayin much. All the big talk and the prosecutors couldn't pin him down... that's pretty sad.

Hey mom and dad! Thanks for spending all that money on law school, I got blago on one count.

Blogo is all talk always has been yet the prosecutors said they attempted to stop what?

This is still America and you can say what you want and the jury knew that as well

Many knew the man just talks a lot. Even the prosecutors cannot assume from the tape that they knew what he was talking about not did they have evidence to prove he was talking about selling the seat. Worst case scenario, if he did they had no proof he did anything other than do a lot of talking.

Last I checked that’s not a criminal offense in this country

Stop wasting taxpayer’s money states are on lifelines families on the streets from loss of homes, jobs living in shelters entire families and this is what the state wants to spend it’s money on?

June, it's not the state that is spending the money on this trial, it is the federal government that is wasting taxpayer's money. But I agree that this case should come to an end and the government should concede that they will never win this case, people are tired of the political angle of this.
