Paul: 'I absolutely deny kidnapping anyone ever'

AP

Kentucky Senate candidate Rand Paul says that a recent GQ story alleging that he kidnapped a female friend while a student at Baylor University and attempted to force her to take bong hits is "absolutely not true"

Appearing on FOX News' Your World with Neil Cavuto, Paul said that the story, which quotes his accuser anonymously, is "outrageous and ridiculous" and that the magazine deserves to be sued for printing it.

Paul dismissed a question about whether the incident was a prank that has been mischaracterized, saying, "I'm not really going to try to go back 27 years to remember everything I did in college."

But, he told the FOX News host, "I think I would remember kidnapping someone."

"I absolutely deny kidnapping anyone ever," he said.

Here's the key excerpt from the story:

The strangest episode of Paul's time at Baylor occurred one afternoon in 1983 (although memories about all of these events are understandably a bit hazy, so the date might be slightly off), when he and a NoZe brother paid a visit to a female student who was one of Paul's teammates on the Baylor swim team. According to this woman, who requested anonymity because of her current job as a clinical psychologist, "He and Randy came to my house, they knocked on my door, and then they blindfolded me, tied me up, and put me in their car. They took me to their apartment and tried to force me to take bong hits. They'd been smoking pot." After the woman refused to smoke with them, Paul and his friend put her back in their car and drove to the countryside outside of Waco, where they stopped near a creek. "They told me their god was 'Aqua Buddha' and that I needed to bow down and worship him," the woman recalls. "They blindfolded me and made me bow down to 'Aqua Buddha' in the creek. I had to say, 'I worship you Aqua Buddha, I worship you."

This is really quite funny when you think about it. Try to imagine the conversations in the Rand Paul household this evening: "So, Dad, you're not a Christian?" What a dilemma. This isn't just a tale of some college experimentation - this is strange. It's actually too strange to be false. AQUA BHUDDA??? Only REAL LIFE or Saturday Night Live writers could come up with something like that. This has to be true. Now every time I look at this goofy guy I'm going to be imagining him sucking on a bong and kneeling to AQUA BHUDDA after shoving a blind-folded woman around.............

The Republicanz villified Bill Clinton for smoking pot, but when one of theirs does it, it's fine. And they don't even mind that Bushie abused both alcohol and cocaine! When it's one of theirs, they don't even have to own up to it. (See R. Limbaugh, et al.) What incredbile hypocrisy.

Mostly we vilified him for saying he didn't inhale and later for lying to us.

I vilify Bill Clinton because he was a liar who didn't trust the American people with the truth. I vilify Bill Clinton because he betrayed his family, then lied in an attempt to save his precious political skin.

That he smoked pot and received blow jobs in the oval office could hardly be seen as surprising. My guess is that Monica Lewinsky embodied a fairly large group of groupies.

As for Limbaugh and Bush, you a***ole, I didn't have to own up for them because they both owned up for themselves.

When did bush admit to his drug use? He actually denied it even when he was confronted about it! Nice try on that one!

Rush the druggie did not admit to his drug problem until after he was arrested for it! It would have been sort of hard for him to deny he had the problem and still plea bargain out of the charge, right?

Now, the truth is that the Republicans that have the problem are more likely to not be charged or receive lessor sentences than the rest of the population! I guess that is good for them!!

Going back 27 years, would be 1983...I was in Hawaii, smoking Big Island Bud and "ah yes, I remember it well". I do, however, deny kidnapping anyone.

Republicans, please help me understand how your party is extremely "anti-drug"? I agree with those pointing out that your party has made Clinton and Obama use a main talking point and when members of your party (Bush, Limbaugh and now Paul) use drugs and it's "just a passing phase". Why is it ok or just a blow off as if nothing happened? Does seem like a double standard.

Dano: It's a Christian thing, they have been forgiven and the heathen Democrats are not! God rewards Republicans for their misdeeds and punishes Democrats for their missteps! You have to remember to be a True Christian you have to convert to Republicanism!

Let's hear from his friend who was involved in this. There were three people, Rand, his friend Randy and this woman. When I heard this story I wasn't too shocked, with some of the stuff Rand comes out with, this is believable.

While Rand Paul and his Teabagger supporters don't want to go back 27 yrs to remember his privilaged days in college; these same nit-wits are more than willing to go back 48yrs to DIS-PROVE the President's BIRTH CERTIFICATE is legitimate. What Mr Paul and the Tea Partiers should take away from this is, WHAT GOES AROUND- COMES AROUND! Breitbart, Faux News, Limbaugh,Beck ect... have opened PANDORS'S BOX. No matter what Mr Paul says henceforth about this matter, the damage is done; just like in the Breithbart/Faux News-Sherrod propaganda episode, and The Acorn Smear campaign! And please remember the WMDs,Death Panels,Black Panthers uprising,Socialist agenda,The President hates White People,ect... It's time for Mr Paul, and the rest of us, to come together and expose these Propaganda campaigns, and their secrect motives, and "REFUTIATE"; I mean REPUTIATE propaganda at every opportunity, especially it' sources!

Idj, don't forget Rand Paul wants to repeal Civil Rights and ADA. A couple of those nasty rights people have. If those Dems try and take drugs, arrest them and pass the drugs to good ol' Rand Paul. Ropes are optional. Rand hasn't had time to put women back in the home (barefoot and pregnant). And why pay them the same amount of money when they can't do the same amount of work that a man can do. They just like to work to show off their high heel shoes (Colorado).

Women, tea partiers and Republicans, why do you support Rand Paul and other Republican candidates who degrade you and want to repeal all efforts made by Blacks, Disabled and Women?

Dano, Paul did not say he wants to repeal CRA. He said he believes the government has no authority to prohibit a restaurant owner from refusing to serve people based on race. He's a libertarian nut case, but there's no proof that he's a racist. The best way to defeat this guy is with facts..things he actually says and believes, not some overblown partisan hype, which GOP partisans will just ignore :)

Your correct joe mota. That is what he did say. I retract the Civil Rights portion of my statement. One question. How does Rand Paul and other Tea Party Members justify wanting to allow a restaurant, store or other service to refuse customers based on race? That's an issue that still continues to this day. Dateline, "What Would You Do" showed a situation just like this issue being raised. The restaurant on the show denied service to a Muslim Person (actor/actress) based on their ethnic background. The real customers (on hidden camera) backed that owner's decision. The Muslim Person was not acting any different than any other customer. When interviewed, they actually believed in what the restaurant and customers were doing. We, as a country are not ready for repeal of laws that protect non-white customers, women and the disabled. That's a huge step in years backward. The Right Wing/ Tea Party Crowd contain a good number people who justify racism. Rand Paul, a leading Tea Party Person, is leading people to believe racism is OK. Who next? Woman, disabled, poor and would say middle class but that's soon to be a non-issue?

LOL!!! I don't like Rand's politics, but I do not believe this story. Well I hope it's not true, because I want to see him go down fair and square, not due to some scandal. I laugh, because that Aqua Buddha is just funny as all get out.

Aqua Buddha, how do people come up with these stuff. *smile to myself*

This a great break for Paul because instead of running away from serious issues, like whether restaurants should be able to refuse to serve latinos or african-Americans and how he plans to dismantle social security and the Fed, he can run way from this silly issue. If Kentucky democrats want to keep Paul out of the senate, all they have to do is get Paul to describe his political views and the rest will take care of itselft. No need for personal attacks or democratic party dogma. Just let him describe his deepest held beliefs and he's toast.

I can't believe some of these comments. Seriously? The worst thing about this is the pot? It's all just a bunch of college hi-jinks? Really? How many times in college did you and a buddy go to a woman's apartment, tie her up, blindfold her, throw her in the trunk of a car and try to force her to do drugs? I'm not saying that it really happened. I don't know. But the complete disregard for the seriousness of the accusation is startling.

What?!?!? Are you serious! I take it from your name, you are a women. You wouldn't mind being tied up, thrown in the trunk, driven away and have drugs forced on you? I do believe this is by definition, KIDNAPPING! Heck, cults do this. Backward countries do this. Call it by soft names GuitKtty. It's kidnapping. The seriousness and his refusal to address the issue is scary. It shows he can not understand what laws do to protect us. He would remove laws regardless of the harm it causes. He grew up privileged and does not understand law. He was an adult when he did this. Not some child playing cops and robbers.

Again, I ask the same question:

Women, tea partiers and Republicans, why do you support Rand Paul and other Republican candidates who degrade you and want to repeal all efforts made by Blacks, Disabled and Women?

Why? I don't get why you support a danger to yourself.

Drug abuse and domestic violence are serious crimes. Rand Paul is exactly what the Tea Party/GOP doesnt need. Another goofball distraction that gives the Democrats an advantage. The Tea Party needs to pick its candidates more wisely.

News Flash - Kidnapping is a federal offense. If Dr. Paul is a legitimate suspect, Eric Holder's crack FBI troops should be storming his home right now. What? They're not? Tells you something.

Meanwhile the Democrat candidate in So. Carolina is indicted (not fuzzily alleged but indicted) for pushing porn on an unwilling woman.

Is there a balance in the liberal media's coverage?

Fortunately Barack Hussein wasn't kidnapping women in college - just hanging with domestic terrorists.
