Obama's OMB nominee in Iraq

From NBC's Courtney Kube
President Obama's nominee to be the new OMB director, Jack Lew, arrived in Iraq today to "review developments in that country and review transition plans," State Department spokesperson PJ Crowley said today.

Lew will meet with Iraqi leaders, embassy staff, and U.S. forces in Iraq to discuss the overall transition from a security mission in Iraq to a civilian-led partnership.

The transition plans are being implimented. Sometime in the next 40 days our combat military will be standing down in Iraq. Well done Mr. President.

I assume you mean President Bush. Didn't Senator Obama and his party oppose the surge that led to this occasion? I also remember Senator Biden saying the only way to end the civil war was to divide Iraq into 3 parts. How about Senator Reid declaring that the war was lost? Yes, thank you President Bush for freeing the people of Iraq from a despot and giving them the opportunity to live in a democracy.

Does this mean Cheney & Co will transition too?

I'll bet this will make Darth Vader (Cheney) pull off another robbery or carry more batteries for his artifical heart so it does not malfunction.

Cheney has a heart? Whether artifical or natural I doubt he has one.

    FEBRUARY 2009

All US combat troops will leave Iraq by August next year and a full withdrawal will be completed by the end of 2011 under a strategy to be laid out by President Barack Obama.

Mr. Obama, an early opponent of the US-led 2003 invasion, will fulfill his campaign promise to withdraw US troops ... the withdrawal will take 19 months, slightly longer than the 16 months which he had promised while running for president in 2008. Few Americans are likely to complain about the extra three months, experts said. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/4862947/Obama-to-pull-troops-out-of-Iraq-by-2010.html

Thank you, President Obama. Hard to believe it is actually happening. I know I won't complain about the extra 3 months.

Thank you, Mr. President, now we can go after the real enemy (al Qaeda and the Taliban) where they really are and stop fooling around wasting treasure and people because of Georgie's revenge against a two bit dicator that was no real threat to the US or our interests.

With Hugo Chavez threatening to cut off the flow of his oil to us we should be negotiating with Iraq to pay us back by giving us oil at below market value for, let's say about ten or so years.

      THANK YOU Mr. President!

Another HUGE campaign promise we will be moving to the "completed" list.

This is one of those promises made that benefits EVERYONE...you know, that group Candidate Obama said he would represent.
