Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele has a party fundraising event coming up in August that is scheduled to feature a very special guest: Conservative media activist Andrew Breitbart, according to a copy of the invitation exclusively obtained by TPM.
The fundraising event, billed as an "Election Countdown," will take place from August 12-14 in Beverly Hills, California, and will also feature other politicians such as California Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, and Nevada Republican gubernatorial nominee Brian Sandoval. Steele and Breitbart are scheduled to co-headline a welcome reception on the first evening, August 12.

What's especially funny about having a racist like Breitbart as the RNC keynote speaker introduced by Michael Steele, is what Steele had to say about the party's relationship with blacks not long ago:

This is a huge strategic mistake for the RNC. Most Republicans (like most humans) do not condone deceitful reporting, and they don't like it when commentators make unsubstantiated, deliberately misleading accusations against individuals and then broadcast them to a large audience. As the Sherrod incident clearly demonstrated, Breitbart didn't do his homework, he violated the most fundamental journalistic codes of ethics, and he refused to take responsibility or apologize for the damage he caused. Breitbart's deceitful tactics have been discredited by countless responsible news outlets. By asking Breitbart to share his wisdom at an RNC event, the organization is condoning the dishonesty he represents. I don't see how the RNC can do anything but damage its reputation by aligning itself with Breitbart.

I completely agree with yor assessment. Since I don't listen to Limbaugh and his ilk, usually when I come and see what the extremists are posting, I almost immediately can see that it is verbatim the same latest message every post. Once I google the latest message, I am immediately linked to FOX, Limbaugh, etc. The so-called New Black Panthers (all three members) was one recent example. Furthermore, I have noticed that these posters have unbelievable amounts of time to post their hate messages all day long. I know that as someone who has to work, I could never have this amount of time to spend on the internet. So your idea that they are paid is probably right on the mark.

Just two headlines concerning the RNC, the REPUBS and many others positioning themselves for the upcoming mid-term fight. Here's my take: America is gonna lose no matter who wins. We live in a tumultuous time full of hatred and vile. Whites don't like blacks in the White House. Blacks don't like whites for a multitude of reasons. DEMS don't like REPUBS and vice versus. I will buy movies to watch throughout the mud slinging.
Has anyone considered the fact that maybe the scumbag Breitbart may be interested in some of those big bucks being made by Glenn Beckerhead, Rush Limpballs, Sean Insannity and Bill O'Really. It's strange that FAUX hasn't offered him a job ... he'd fit right in with Sarah Falin.

Thanx, hollyroller's attitude made me ill. Unfortunately, I don't think he saw it, as he strikes me as someone who would try to get the last ugly word, and thinks his attitude is OK and (to him) funny.
It is sad that Ms. Sherrod's experience could be belitttled and mocked by anyone;but some trolls just live to spew their venom toward a victim already highly injured. sad, but that's the way of hate, especially racial hate.

Before the severely edited Sherrod clip, I thought Breitbart was a journalist with a point of view--and that's ok with me--especially when it's so clear he's Right of Center. But to edit that video in a way that completely changed Sherrod's message was beyond offensive. Breitbart lost my respect.
It's fair game for him to point out the reaction of the audience as an important message of its own.
But in the process he ruined his credibility.
the audience reaction was pretty subdued from what I heard. No one shouting or applauding he "white farmer" comments, from what I heard. Maybe, you heard a different version.
Ditto what was said above. When the Republicans associate with this kind of company, what do they expect the Independents to do? Stay home, vote D, or hold their noses??

I really can't believe people listen and follow people like Beck and Limbaugh. I too, watched Beck comment that he doesn't care about politics and he is pure entertainment. When everyone finally realizes the same is true for Limbaugh and Pallen, then MAYBE real journalist will return to their profession. Now, they all scramble to one up these entertainers for fear of losing their job.

I hope they keep this line of negative whatever going so everyone will see how terrible it is and no common sense to it. The more they say their remarks the more everyone will know the truth. You cannot discuss things with them they will not listen to reason.
