Jarrett won't be called to testify in Blago trial

CHICAGO -- On his way into court this morning, Rod Blagojevich defense attorney Sam Adam told reporters that Obama confidante and senior adviser Valerie Jarrett will not be called as a defense witness.

She was one of a large number of Washington officials subpoenaed, including White House Chief of Staff and former Chicago congressman Rahm Emanuel and Sens. Dick Durbin and Harry Reid. While Emanuel is very likely to be called, Durbin, Reid and many others on the defense subpoena list are not likely to be called.

*** UPDATE *** Julie Blagojevich, the former governor's sister-in-law and wife of co-defendant Robert Blagojevich, has been called as the first defense witness. After Julie, Robert Blagojevich is expected to be called. Blago himself could be on the stand as soon as tomorrow.

WMAQ's Phil Rogers contributed to this report.

Another distraction to keep us from focusing on the truly important issues. I hope the Blago trial finishes up soon and if he's guilty of wrongdoing then he should be convicted and properly punished. This self serving jerk made Democrats and President Obama look bad and he deserves whatever punishment comes his way.

Blago will try to drag Obama and his friends through the mud - which will probably not be that difficult, considering they all belonged to the corrupt Chicago "machine".

The Blago Comedy Show gets into high gear this week with the start of the defense case starring none other than Blago himself on the wit-less stand. I'm hoping the call Rahm and Jarrett to testify about "the Chicago way" of doing politics. Could be some good entertainment here.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

There is no "threat of political damage " for President Obama. Keep listening to acerbic platypus mouth Michelle Malkin and insane Hannitty along with rest of Fox Noise’s echo chamber.

"The President-Elect had no contact or communication with Governor Blagojevich or members of his staff about the Senate seat." Moreover, the president-elect "did not actively seek" to put Mrs. Jarrett in that post. Balanoff was asked by Blago to call the then President elect whom he couldn’t reach. The President elect returned the call the night before. The Sun-Times reported Balanoff himself testified that Obama "would much prefer" Jarrett work with him at the White House, but said that she met his qualifications for the post.

Do try and keep up!

I will give credit to the Tea Party for repudiating the idiot, Mark Williams one element down and thousands more to go. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. The next element should be Michelle Bachmann who wants a Tea Party caucus in Congress. What is she doing for her district. She be doing something locally and stay off the national scene.

Personal Opinion:

Chicago Politics are no different from the politics of the nation. In one sense Blago may be correct; politics in general regardless of demographics, affiliation, or geography, is all the same. The only difference is that there may be some individual politicians that are more honest than others in their desire to work for the best interest of their constituents and the country as a whole.

Now, I have to say that I don't trust many of the politicians holding office at the present, and, my trust and respect for the Republican politician(s) is at zero. They have "demonstrated" their lack of what is best for the people and the country. In spite of their rhetoric about fiscal responsibility they should know that when they speak of "America" they are actually talking about the people that make up this great country more so than the grounds that this country was founded upon. The government "of the people, by the people, and for the people should work for "what is best for the people". Until the replublicans come to realize this they will never get another vote from me. I am a democrat that does not vote party line on all occasions but will until the Rebublican Party makes some adjustments to their way of thinking and governing.

I have to believe that there were some issues that they could have agreed to during the past 18 months but instead have played "dirty politics" with the American people for the sake of diminishing this President and his agenda. Where is the honesty and integrity demonstrated in that? I can't find any.

Personal Opinion only.

Unfortunately each party has an embarrasing person in their ranks. For the Democrats Blago fits that description. Sarah Palin and so many others fit that description for the Republicans. Blago screwed up, will be found guilty, and will pay the price. Politics can be the same nation wide. People perceive it as such but not all politicians are crooked and self serving. Unfortunately some start out with good intentions but due to lobbyists they are corrupted and the constituents are forgotten in favor of special interests and especially those with tons of money.

And Governor Manchin is greasing the skids for his own Senate run by appointing a close associate to the vacated senate seat in West Virginia. Not as obvious as Blago, but nevertheless using the situation for personal gain. Any guesses as to whether the senate designate eventually launches a run for governor?

As for lobbyists and special interests, the most powerful special interest is self-interest. When that one is well honed, the lobbyists, special interests and associates simply become tools.

To me, the only difference between Blago and so many others is a big mouth and bad judgement.

Millions of laid off workers whose unemployment insurance payments are being blocked by republicans

now clearly know which party is on their side. Republicans messed up the economy making them to lose their jobs and now is blocking their allowances for political reasons. Some republican law makers have called these laid off workers who have not been able to find work Hobos, lazy, animals, e.t.c.

Republicans are blocking every Democrats' agenda to enable them try their lack again in November and Americans need to wake up and see that this is not the kind of politics that this country need.

America need a the party in charge to have a good majority both in the house and the senate to make it possible for work to be done. This game of filibuster every time is a real waste of tax payers money and a waste of time. It does not benefit the country.

Are these representatives being paid their salaries from tax payers money just to waste time in Washington DC. What they can do in one day is delayed for months while they keep on drawing salaries for the days wasted as well.

The country has seen the much that Democrats have achieved within the short time they have been their in Capital hill with the other party's objective of blocking them every time.

You Libtards keep on drinking the juice, as Obama loves to say. He's got you fooled and riled up like pit bulls, foaming at the mouth and ready to attack. But for what reason? Republicans couldn't hold back healthcare that will spend 2 trillion bucks, but stonewalled and stopped a lousy 39 billion Unemployment Insurance bill? The Republicans, had you dimwits stopped to listen, said they had no problem with the extension as long as it was paid for. Something had to offset the cost by cutting in another area, or why not pay for it from the stimulus funds of which 450 billion remains unspent? Obama says he's in charge and won't rest until crises are solved, but the POTUS still has time for 20 days of golf and vacations all over. Government has seized healthcare, banks, car companies, is trying to muzzle freedom on the internet and radio, grossly expanded the powers of the CIA and NSA into areas without oversight or control and yet you're fine with that... You libs used to scream about how Bush was stealing our liberties, but Obama openly called for the beginning of a civilian security force that reminds me of the Brownshirt Storm Troopers of Adolf Hitler. Remember the Un-American activites listening post at Flag.Gov? He favors illegal immigrants over regular citizens. He opposes a law that controls and eliminates a state-invasion problem that the Federal goverment refuses to fix themselves. He subsidizes and nurtures illegal behavior coddling those foreign invaders. He hates whites and pretty much everything he does is aimed at lessening the power he states that they hold over everything. Google Social Justice and redistributionists philosophy. He ridicules anyone that dares believe otherwise than himself. He holds Saul Alinski in higher regard than Jesus Christ. Read Rules for Radical by Alinski and you'll see why Obama does the things he does as he steal your liberties and expands government to unbounded proportions. Fat people beware! Obama is coming for you with higher healthcare cost based on your body mass index, and has made his personal cook a Czar to regulate what you can or canot eat! Think I'm lying? Look it up.

I don't know why he has spent so much money keeping his birth and educational records sealed, but I suspect his real father to be the communist, FBI snitch, Frank Wright. His mother probably didn't know for sure. But if he is an American by birth, it is definitely not his chosen choice of idealogies as he believes in freedom for the left but not the center or for the right.

Jonboy - it is a mess and I agree but again to me it is politics as usual. Obama is Bush on steroids and if Bush disagreed with Obama's policies he would be on a massive speaking tour. Oh I know people say the ex presidents should never speak up about the current presidents...that is so uncouth...but if you really believed the country was heading down the wrong road you would be uncouth and more if that is what it takes to save the republic. Bush gave Americans a $1 trillion dollar a year drug plan and Obama makes us buy mandatory insurance...both of which are totally unconstitutional...but in that example Obama is more conservative than Bush because at least Obama is making most of his healthcare plan paid for by the American people instead of a free giveaway
