Ad Watch: Greene keeps it in the family

Billionaire Florida Senate candidate Jeff Greene (D) is up with a new ad featuring his wife and newborn son, while both candidates in tomorrow's Alabama Republican gubernatorial runoff lament the negative ads that have run during the campaign, including those run by third party groups like the shadowy Conservative Coalition of Alabama.

FL SEN, Greene, "Family"
7/12
ANNCR: Jeff Greene's family moved to Florida 40 years ago with nothing. Today, he's raising his family here. GREENE: I've worked hard and had incredible success. I've lived the American dream. But I look into my baby's eyes and I think, am I willing to put his future in the hands of these mess of it. I'm Jeff Greene and I approve this message because our future is at stake.

AL GOV, Byrne, "Values"
7/10
ANNCR: "Bradley Byrne. Christian conservative. Family man. Values that will guide him as governor. Ending Montgomery corruption to protect taxpayers. Bradley Byrne's Moving Alabama Forward plan will create new jobs, crack down on illegal immigration, education reforms to empower parents and teachers. Alabama Republicans: stop entrenched special interests from stealing our primary. Protect our Republican values." CHYRON: "Endorsed by 17 Alabama Newspapers." ANNCR: "Vote Bradley Byrne. Conservative Governor"

AL GOV, Bentley, "It's Your Vote"
7/10
BENTLEY: "Tired of all the negative ads? My opponent is attacking me but missing the real battle. We have serious problems in Alabama. I know how hard it is. I'll fight the federal government and put Alabama back to work. Five-thousand new jobs with tax cuts to businesses that hire. I'll clean up Montgomery and never profit from my office. I'll release my tax returns each year. And I'll not take a salary unless Alabama reaches full employment. I'm Dr. Robert Bentley and I need your vote for governor" (Youtube, 7/10).

IA GOV, Bransted, "Exactly Right"
7/12
ANNCR: "(Gov.) Chet Culver (D) likes to say unemployment was highest in state history when Terry Branstad took office. He's exactly right. And by the time Terry Branstad left, unemployment was the lowest in state history and Terry helped create nearly 300,000 new jobs. Chet Culver? Under him unemployment has nearly doubled to 6.8%, the highest in 24 years and Iowa has already lost more than 30,000 jobs. Iowa on Terry Branstad, or Iowa on Chet Culver? Any Questions?" (youtube.com, 7/12)

MN GOV, Entenza, "New Direction"
7/8
ANNCR: " Meet Sarah Palin's candidate for governor. (State Rep.) Tom Emmer (R). Endorsed by Palin. A Bush Republican who'll double down on failed Pawlenty policies. Devastating 30 percent budget cuts, education under threat. Emmer's more of the same. For a new direction -- Matt Entenza. He stood up to Pawlenty -- and won -- blocking deep education cuts. He'll scrap No Child Left Behind. Stop teaching to the test, so we can teach to every child's potential and make Minnesota great again" (youtube.com, 7/12).

NM GOV, Martinez, "Police Stand with Susana"
7/9
ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SAFETY DIR. DARREN WHITE: "Diane Denish helped abolish the death penalty." EX-ALBUQUERQUE POLICE OFFICER'S ASSN PRES. PAUL PACHECO: "Even for cop killers." WHITE: "That's why we stand with Susana." RESERVE BERNALILLO CO. SHERIFF'S DEPUTY DANA KOURY: "Susana backs down to no one." RESERVE BERNALILLO CO. SHERIFF'S DEPUTY WAYNE SANTOS: "We're with Susana." NM FOP PRES. BOB MARTINEZ: "The FOP supports Susana." PACHECO: "New Mexico's Prosecutor of the Year." MARTINEZ: "Don't be fooled by the negative attacks. The old way won't work anymore. This election is a clear choice between more of the same or a positive agenda to end corruption, eliminate waste, and put people back to work. It's our state. Together, we'll take it back" (Youtube, 7/9).

NV GOV, Sandoval, "Ya Es Hora"

OK GOV, Brogdon, "Mary Fallin Compromise"

7/8
ANNCR: "In Oklahoma, we know our name is linked to our reputation. Mary Fallin says she loves our Oklahoma values, however, she regularly compromises those values. Fallin voted for the trillion dollar Wall Street bailout, she's accepted thousands in contributions from bailout beneficiaries. She's requested millions in pork from the Obama stimulus. Do you want Mary Fallin dealing away your values in liberal compromises? Then don't compromise your values when you vote for governor. Vote for Randy Brogdon"

OK GOV, Edmonson, "Just As Hard"

7/12
ANNCR: He got Oklahoma 33 million dollars cracking down on Medicaid fraud. 2 billion dollars from the tobacco companies. But what Drew Edmonson is most proud of is getting Southwestern Bell to create a 30 million dollar trust fund for computers in Oklahoma's schools. EDMONSON: In tough fiscal times all this made a real difference. As governer I'll fight just as hard to increase teacher pay and prepare our kids for high tech jobs. ANNCR: Drew Edmonson. Tough enough to get it done.

TN GOV, Haslam, "Protecting Jobs"
7/12
HASLAM: Is illegal immigration really a problem in Tennessee? You better believe it is. With state unemployment at 10%, we're all paying the price for the federal government's failure to secure our borders. Arizona stepped up and passed a tough new law that addressed the unique challenges they face. And Tennessee should do the same. Protecting Tennessee jobs. That's what matters now.
