WASHINGTON, DC -- And you thought a small businesses address would be boring!
In addition to a series of protestors, there were two straight-to-Daily-Show moments from McCain's remarks today -- one intentional and one, well, not so much.
First, in speaking about his proposal for joint town hall meetings with Obama, McCain said -- following the prepared remarks -- that he would like to travel with his rival by air. Then, going off script, the famously-downed navy pilot said, "I promise not to try to fly."
Much more hilariously, a misreading of the teleprompter led McCain to sound a little bit more like a teetotaler fraternity president than a presidential candidate. Speaking about his use of the veto pen to eliminate wasteful spending, he declared, "I will veto every single beer, um, bill with earmarks."
