ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Giuliani campaign got a nice non-endorsement Tuesday from a man some people are still expecting to jump into the Republican presidential race.
Newt Gingrich told Matt Lauer on the "Today" show that he cites Giuliani all the time and appreciates what he did in New York City.
"No, I'm not endorsing him," Gingrich said. "But I've said everywhere and I cite him in every speech I give, that if you look at what New York is like today, and you look at the remarkable decline in crime, this is the safest large city in America. And it's worth studying what Giuliani did here."
The Giuliani camp is salivating over this quote, and we may wind up hearing it as often as the George Will "most conservative government" line between now and Feb. 5.
