The "major" endorsement the Clinton campaign is touting today today is Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-NV), who represents the first congressional district, which includes Las Vegas.
More to come, as Clinton campaign is holding a conference call with reporters.
*** UPDATE *** In what may be an attempt to offset today's expected Obama endorsement by the Nevada Culinary Workers Union, the Clinton campaign is touting a "major" Nevada endorsement -- that of Rep. Shelley Berkley.
Berkley, who represents congressional district with the state's largest city in it, Las Vegas, cited the New York senator's experience and record of "change" as reasons for her support -- a message on key with what the campaign has been projecting for months.
Asked during a conference call with reporters this afternoon about her decision to not go along with the culinary workers -- which comprise more than 60,000 members -- and back Obama, Berkley simply stated her support for the union and added, "I wish we were on the same side," but continued, "When we have a candidate, we're all going to be working on the same page; there is no rift here."
